Chapter 53

Coming of Age Sex Story: Chapter 53 - This is the second book in the Wrinkle in Time Trilogy. It is a stand-alone book with an all-new cast that embraces getting a second chance, a do-over. Fortunately, this time, Xander had a cheat: life experience. I’d become the old man who no longer gave a fuck about others’ opinions. The problem was that by the time I learned this, I died … or so I thought. I found myself thrown back in time to do it all over again. Could I get it right this time?

Xander knocked at Pam and Pippa’s door, and it immediately swung open. Pippa had raced to get it before Pam. Xander was amused when she hip-checked Pam, stepped out of the room, and closed the door behind her.

Xander couldn’t keep the amusement off his face.

“Pippa.”

“Hey, Xander, it’s been a minute.”

“It has.”

“Uhm, I know you’re here to see Pam, but I wanted to get a chance to talk to you first.”

“Will this be quick? Because I think Pam is expecting us to join her,” Xander said.

“Well, let me take care of that. You stay right here, and I’ll be back in a minute.”

Pippa darted back inside. He heard the girls quietly discussing something, though he couldn’t make out any words. To his surprise, Pam walked out and gave him a strange look.

“Can we go for a walk or something?” Pam asked.

“Sure,” Xander said while thinking, ’Girls confuse me.’

They discussed the football game as they walked to the elevator. When they stepped outside, Pam led him to a picnic table hidden behind some bushes.

“I come here to study when I want to be alone.”

He looked around and agreed it was a nice spot.

“What’s going on?” Xander asked.

“First, Kate called me and shared what she said to you. I think she may have given you the wrong impression; I’m not looking to get pregnant right away.”

“Good to know.”

“But that was a nice thing you did for her.”

“I never imagined she would share something like that,” Xander admitted.

“Other than Asher, I’m the only one who knows. They don’t want anyone to find out, of course.”

“Understood,” Xander said in complete agreement. “What did Pippa want to talk to me about?”

“Me,” Pam said, and then wouldn’t meet his eyes. “She said I owe you an explanation for what I did when we were freshmen.”

“No, I get it: he was a senior, and we were freshmen,” Xander said, letting her off the hook.

“Do you think if I’d gotten my head out of my ass and not gone out with him, that we might’ve still been together?” Pam asked.

He considered a few flippant responses, but she wanted an honest answer.

“I think we were both too immature, and one or both of us would’ve done something that would’ve caused us to break up. Frankly, I sort of knew we couldn’t last. You were so out of my league that you would have woken up and kicked me to the curb at some point. Doing it then was for the best.”

Pam just nodded, deep in thought.

“Can I ask what happened between you two?” Xander asked.

Her eyes darted to his and then to her shoes.

“What did you hear?” She asked.

“Wild rumors, which got worse when you didn’t date anyone else.”

“Before I tell you, thank you for the times you supported me. I never expected you to help me out, and that meant a lot to me,” Pam said. “It was probably what you would imagine. The problem was that I was too innocent to know better about certain things. Let’s just say that he didn’t like condoms and leave it at that.”

“I understand that, but I never understood why you didn’t date anyone else in high school,” Xander said.

She closed her eyes and sighed. He had to listen hard because what came next was a whisper.

“I lost the baby.”

Xander had always assumed that she’d had an abortion.

“I’m so sorry,” he said.

“It’s because I have some problems down there. They tell me I might not be able to get pregnant and carry it to full term. Kate knows that, and she said I should see someone and figure out if it’s possible. The doctors told me that if I did want to have children, I shouldn’t wait too long.”

“I’m not sure I’m ready to settle down and have kids,” Xander said, putting that out there before this got too serious.

Pam chuckled.

“I wasn’t suggesting we jump the gun. Maybe we could go out a time or two before we get to baby-making,” she said with a smirk and then got serious. “Besides, I’m no longer out of your league—you are the catch now.”

“Sometimes I wonder.”

“That sounds like a story,” Pam prodded.

“I think it’s best saved for another time.”

“You’re right; too much sharing, and we’ll run away from each other.”

Xander nodded his agreement.

“Can we take it slow?” Pam asked.

“We can, but I’ll be honest: I like sex.”

“About that: Pippa told me what you two were getting up to in high school. What if she helped you out like before? Completely casual, on the down-low,” Pam suggested.

“Do you really think that’s a good idea?”

“It would make me feel better than you having a bunch of casual hookups.”

Xander couldn’t help himself and laughed.

“What?” Pam complained.

“Not in a million years did I ever imagine I would hear a girl give the guy she’s going out with permission to spend time with other women.”

“I’m not. But you and Pippa have a history, and I have to be honest, I never once guessed that the two of you were doing stuff,” Pam said.

“Someday, have her tell you how it all got started. It’s a good story.”

“She said you groped her at a party.”

“Well, that’s true,” Xander admitted. “But more specifically, about the first time she gave me head.”

“It sounds like she’s been holding out on me,” Pam said thoughtfully.

“Come to think of it, you probably shouldn’t ask because it involved a third person, and I’m not sure they would want what happened to get out,” he said.

Pam’s phone chirped; she looked at the message and smiled.

“Speaking of whom, I’m supposed to bring you back upstairs.”

“Why?” Xander asked.

“Let’s just say Pippa has needs.”

“Oh, okay, then let’s go,” he said, standing up.

Xander made a point of staying in touch with Mike, Barb, Pam, and Pippa. They would see each other at least once a week, if not more often. With Xander’s schedule, that was about all he could handle because his playing time increased over the next few games. In week four, he was named the starter at tailback because the senior in front of him had a hip injury and was done for the season.

Some things fell into place in his generational wealth plan. Asher signed over his interest in the mixed-use building to Xander, and the bank that loaned Xander the money to buy in wanted to meet, which worried him. He was glad when Jack offered to go to the meeting with him.

Xander made the appointment for between classes and football practice and met Jack out front.

“I do all my banking here. Don’t worry, I’m sure everything will be okay,” Jack assured him.

“Now that Asher’s no longer involved, I’m afraid they’ll look at me and want to call the loan.”

“Before you panic, let’s see what they say.”
