Chapter 36
Coming of Age Sex Story: Chapter 36 - This is the second book in the Wrinkle in Time Trilogy. It is a stand-alone book with an all-new cast that embraces getting a second chance, a do-over. Fortunately, this time, Xander had a cheat: life experience. I’d become the old man who no longer gave a fuck about others’ opinions. The problem was that by the time I learned this, I died … or so I thought. I found myself thrown back in time to do it all over again. Could I get it right this time?

On Friday night, Xander went to the poker game with his grandfather. As it happened, the plans changed, and it was held at the Lee household, where Mike had shown up, hoping to get lucky. And as it also happened, as the players were arriving, Mr. Lee, Kathy’s ex, came to pick up Hadley for the weekend.
“Daddy,” Barb said when she saw him.
They hugged as Hadley tromped out, clearly upset that her older sister was bailing on the weekend.
“That’s interesting,” Xander said as he approached Mr. Lee. “I’m Xander Thornwood, sir, a classmate of Mike and Barb.”
“What’s interesting?” Mr. Lee asked.
“That Barb calls you and Mike by the same nickname.”
Hadley’s eyes got big as she slowly turned to her sister, who was in shock and stood there with her mouth open.
“Luckily for Mike, he chose the newer model. Mike says the newer model has an upgraded body and a smoother ride,” Xander said as he pointed at Barb and then Kathy.
The pissed-off look that had first come over Mr. Lee’s face passed to Kathy.
By now, all conversation in the room had stopped as the poker regulars watched to see the ensuing evisceration of one young Xander Thornwood.
“Are you done yet?” Kathy asked.
Xander held up a finger to indicate he had one more.
“Maybe Barb could call you ‘Dad’ and Mike, ‘Daddy.’ That way, there would be no confusion at family get-togethers.”
“No, you’ve got it wrong. They think of me as the Sugar Daddy,” Mr. Lee said.
“You can both leave now,” Kathy said.
Xander pulled out a wad of hundred-dollar bills. Kathy eyed it and said, “Okay, you can stay.”
Early in the night, Kathy and Xander got into a hand together. He had pocket jacks, so he raised the bet to twenty-five dollars. Everyone folded but Kathy, who called. The flop came seven, two, eight, rainbow, meaning they were all different suits.
Xander downbet to twenty dollars to see where he was. He noticed Kathy looking him straight in the eye as she called. That was when Xander realized Mike had shared Kathy’s ‘tell’ with Barb, who, in turn, had told her mom.
While it was true that Kathy did look at her chips when she had a hand, she was also an ex-smoker and chewed gum. Her real tell was that she would stop chewing when she thought she had the nuts, or best hand.
Xander waited for the next card to be turned up. It was an ace that made him slow down and check. When Kathy bet fifty dollars, he folded. Thankfully, it wasn’t another low card that he would’ve had to bet on. But now the trap was set. He was confident he would catch her in a big hand later.
After a couple of hours, Kathy had taken about three hundred dollars from Xander. He’d acted surprised when he made hero calls and found she had the better hand.
Xander glanced down at his cards, and he had an ace, five of spades, so he called Kathy’s ten-dollar raise. The players knew Kathy had it out for Xander, so they got out of the way. The flop came two and three of spades and the king of diamonds. Xander had the nut flush draw and a possible straight flush if the four of spades came up.
Kathy bet big—one hundred fifty dollars. She’d looked him in the eye when she bet, but was chewing her gum like crazy. Xander let a grin touch his mouth.
“I call.”
The next card was the six of hearts. Xander still needed a four or a spade, but he held an ace, so when Kathy raised the bet to four hundred fifty, he went into the tank. What worried him was that she could easily have a king, but he figured she would’ve bet a lot smaller to keep him in the hand. The overbet felt like a bluff, and she wanted to force him out of the hand.
After a few minutes, Xander called.
“I won’t lie. I need a spade.”
The next card was the ten of clubs. He’d missed everything. Kathy smiled and looked down at her chips, but she was chewing her gum.
“All in,” Kathy said, pushing another three hundred twenty-five dollars into the pot.
Xander thought for a second.
“I call.”
Kathy looked confused as she turned over the queen and jack of spades. Xander took a deep breath and showed his ace high to take the pot.
“What the—” Kathy hissed.
She looked pointedly at Xander.
“You tricked me.”
Xander looked around like he was lost and blinked a few times.
“What are you talking about?” Grandpa Davidson asked.
“He told Mike I have a tell. He should’ve folded on the river.”
“So, you were tricking my grandson?”
“I thought I was, but the little shit set me up,” Kathy complained.
By now, the other poker players were laughing and congratulating Xander. It was a time-honored tradition to trap your opponent. He knew Kathy would be all pissy for a while, but she’d get over it.
“You’re going to loan me money,” Kathy told Xander.
Xander gave her five hundred back so she could keep playing.
By the end of the night, Kathy had won back about three hundred fifty dollars so that she could pay Xander back. She pulled him into the kitchen.
“You said you won’t be back for the rest of the summer, so tell me what I’m doing to give my hands away,” Kathy said.
She’d just paid for his entrance fees for his football camps, so he told her. “Lose the gum. You stop chewing when you have a hand.”
She thought for a moment and nodded. Then her eyes narrowed.
“You think I’m an older model?”
“That’s Mike. Personally, I think you’re a classic.”
Xander let his eyes elevator up and down.
When he looked up, he saw that she was amused. While they both knew it would never happen, he was glad he could give her a thrill—every woman wants to feel desired. Old Xander shook his head because he was more than willing to give Kathy a test drive.
“Nice recovery,” Kathy said.
“So, since we’re talking, my daughter said you have a really big dick. Would you care to explain how she might know that?” she asked.
“Someone at school started that rumor. I can’t say it bothers me, but I don’t claim any credit for what they say, nor do I encourage it. And I don’t go around talking about that sort of stuff.”
“Why do you think she would say that?”
“I have no idea. She was pretty drunk, and it’s hard to figure out why a drunk person says anything,” Xander said, hoping to dodge further questions. But it wasn’t to be.
“You drove her here, but you said you’re only in driver’s ed. You do realize it’s illegal to drive without a license, don’t you?”
“Yes, ma’am, I do. But since Peggy and Barb were totally drunk, I thought it was safer to bring them home than leave them in that condition at a party. If I’d left them, who knows what might have happened? I was taking driver’s ed, and since I was still learning, I was very careful on the road. We all made it home safely.”
Kathy took a moment to consider his explanation.
“All right. It’s probably best that you go home now,” she said.
“I’ll see you around,” Xander replied.
Mike and Xander traveled to Fayetteville on Saturday for the University of Arkansas’ two-day camp. Some of the high school football players had come in the night before. But since Mike and Xander lived only about fifteen minutes from campus, they decided to go on Saturday morning.
The sign-in was handled by cute college girls wearing University of Arkansas Staff t-shirts. They gave Mike and Xander welcome packets and U of A gear with their names and numbers on the back of the jerseys. One of the guys working for the camp took them to their dorm room, where they changed into their Arkansas gear.
The morning was spent doing drills, getting their measurables taken, and getting to know some of the coaches and other campers. At lunch, the campers were joined by some good-looking coeds who were focused on convincing the boys to come to the U of A. Xander noticed Mike was enamored of the girl he was talking to. But before Xander could say anything, Dale Sands—the Arkansas head coach—asked Xander to join him in a conference room. It was set for a meal, with four place settings, two of them empty.
“I set this up so you could meet someone,” Coach Sands said.
The door opened, and an older guy walked in wearing an expensive suit and with an absolute stunner of a much younger woman. She was curvy, and the term that jumped to Xander’s mind was ‘delicate.’ Her skin was like flawless silk, and her starched white blouse conformed to her curves, tucking smoothly into the tiny waistband of her short red skirt. He’d bet he could wrap her up twice in just one arm. The faintest hint of her red lacy bra showed through her shirt, and his fingers itched to reach up and trace along the swell of her breasts.
She was sophisticated. She was ... she was ... picture-perfect. Xander first wondered if she might be the man’s daughter, but there was no resemblance, which made Xander realize she was his wife. The woman was the trophy wife of trophy wives. She had to be the woman Bloody Xander had mentioned.
Pulling a young woman of this caliber had to mean the guy was loaded.
“Is this the young man you wanted me to meet?” the guy asked.
“Yes, it is. Xander Thornwood, I’d like to introduce Asher and Kate Fisher.”
It turned out that Asher was indeed loaded; in fact, he owned a stake in the Kansas City Chiefs. Asher regularly donated large sums to the University of Arkansas, his alma mater. He was also a player in NIL funding, which was the underlying reason for the lunch.
Once introductions were made, Coach Sands excused himself.
“He can’t be in the room when we talk money,” Asher confided.
They never got to have their money talk because Asher’s phone rang. He looked at it, his face clouded over, and he got up and excused himself, leaving Xander alone with Kate. Five minutes later, Asher stuck his head in the door and said, “I have to go to the hotel and deal with some stuff. Stay and entertain Xander.”
Kate stared at the closed door with an unreadable expression; Xander worried whenever he saw a girl give him that one. Then she turned and looked at Xander as if it were the first time she’d noticed him.
“Xander, is it?”
“Yes, ma’am.”
That made her pout, something Xander never wanted to see Kate do.
“How old do you think I am? Only older women should be called ‘ma’am,’” Kate complained.
“I was raised in Texas and taught to call all women older than me ma’am,” Xander said, using a heavy Texan drawl.
“Are you teasing me?” Kate asked.
Xander put on his best innocent-little-boy face.
“No ... uhm ... ma’am.”
“So you think I’m an old woman?”
Xander knew better than to answer that, so he didn’t.
“Tell me why my husband’s so excited about meeting you,” Kate said.
“It might have to do with the fact that I’m the only All-Stater who’s not a junior or senior.”
“How old are you?”
“As I’m sure you know, age is just a number.”
“That young, huh? And here I was told to ‘entertain’ you. But will you even know how to respond if I flirt with you?”
Xander knew exactly why Bloody Xander bailed at this point. He might be the Rizzmaster of West Fork High, but that was nowhere near the level Kate played at. He should just count his blessings that she even talked to him and call it a day.
But then he remembered Bloody Xander saying he regretted not taking his shot. Kate was one of those mythical 10s. He might have to turn in his guy card if he chickened out.
“I say we should find out,” Xander said.
Kate sat up straighter and pulled her shoulders back, which pushed her tits out in the best possible way.
“So, I have a question: do you have a family history of any illnesses?”
