Chapter 28
Coming of Age Sex Story: Chapter 28 - This is the second book in the Wrinkle in Time Trilogy. It is a stand-alone book with an all-new cast that embraces getting a second chance, a do-over. Fortunately, this time, Xander had a cheat: life experience. I’d become the old man who no longer gave a fuck about others’ opinions. The problem was that by the time I learned this, I died … or so I thought. I found myself thrown back in time to do it all over again. Could I get it right this time?

There were days that Xander felt helped define him: days that were meaningful, days that mattered because he sensed something extraordinary was about to happen. Then there were the days in between, like this one: dull, ordinary, nice, slice-of-life days. Even though this day, of all days, should have been momentous, Xander worried that fate was against him.
West Fork was playing the last game of their regular season that night against Mansfield. If they won, they could go to state if everything fell into place. Their two in-conference losses put them on the bubble. Even if they won, they needed help to make the playoffs.
The problem was that Xander knew it wouldn’t happen because he remembered other teams were destined to make it to state that year. He’d found that while he could change the outcome of things he was directly involved in, little outside of his reach changed.
What got him down was his personal life. He found Angelica wasn’t what he was looking for in terms of a relationship. While they were still in the honeymoon phase of their connection, having sex two to three times a day, he found her ... boring. She wasn’t the sharpest tack in the drawer and never wanted to do anything. If someone ever needed to touch some grass, it was her.
That wasn’t Xander; he wasn’t someone glued to their device 24/7. He was a doer who always found something to keep him busy, while Angelica preferred to stay at home.
An excellent example of how they differed was that night’s after-game party. Angelica said she would attend Xander’s game to support him, but didn’t feel like going out afterward. He’d discovered she’d only gone to previous parties with him because she felt obligated.
He’d just finished a light early-morning workout when he found Angelica waiting at his locker, which the cheerleaders had decorated for the game. All the guys wore their game jerseys, and he noted Angelica wore his letterman jacket. She did like the status and the attention she got from dating the sophomore football star.
“I wanted to ask if it would be okay if I bailed on the game tonight.”
“Sounds like you have a better offer,” Xander said, trying to find out why.
“My parents are going to an awards dinner at the University of Arkansas. I guess my dad won something.”
He had no doubt Angelica had known about the event for weeks, but was just now getting around to sharing it with him. He was surprised to realize he wasn’t upset by her announcement.
“It’s important that you support your dad, so go and have a good time,” Xander said.
Angelica looked relieved.
“Thanks, I will. Now let’s go to the assembly.”
Since it was the last game of the season, they were having an assembly during homeroom to recognize the seniors. The seniors would have their families join them on the field before the game while Coach Hammer said a few words. The assembly was a pep rally to fire up the student body before the game.
When they reached the gym, one of the seniors grabbed Xander and told him Coach Hammer wanted him to stand in the wings while the seniors filed out on stage.
He got a front-row seat to watch the cheerleaders do a couple of routines with the help of the pep band, and then Coach Hammer fired up the crowd. He introduced each senior and had a few words to say about each of them.
“Before you return to class, I want to bring up one other player: Xander Thornwood,” Coach Hammer said.
Xander walked onto the stage and waved to the standing, cheering crowd. It was a little embarrassing, if he were honest. He spotted Angelica watching him, beaming with pride.
“I received a call from the conference office, and they shared a little secret: Xander will be the only sophomore on the All-Conference team when it’s announced on Monday!”
If he remembered correctly, that honor was usually reserved for seniors.
Coach Hammer quieted the crowd and added, “I was also told Mr. Thornwood will be named to the All-State team. He’s the first player in West Fork’s history ever to receive that honor!”
The seniors rushed him and began to dance around him. Over the cheers, Coach Hammer cried out, “Come out tonight and support your team! Go Tigers!”
Class was an afterthought after the news announcement. Xander was constantly stopped in the halls and congratulated. He was on his way to lunch when someone grabbed his wrist; it was Peggy.
Once she had him alone, Peggy asked, “Are you going to the after-party?”
“It’s the last one of the year, so I figured it would be fun.”
“Is Angelica going?”
“Her dad won some award, and his banquet is tonight, so no.”
“Are you guys serious?” Peggy asked.
Xander chuckled.
“Is this for your personal information, or did the Princesses send you undercover?”
“You’re a dick sometimes,” Peggy said, then saw him raise his eyebrow and caved. “Okay, the Princesses want to know.”
“Would that have anything to do with the picture I gave you?”
“You know it did. Pam and Kelly confirmed it wasn’t a fake, and that got the rest of them all in a tizzy.”
“I could just pull it out, and you could confirm it yourself,” Xander offered.
Peggy took an involuntary half-step back, huffed, spun around, and started for the door.
“Save me a dance?” Xander called to her back.
Peggy turned her head and said, “You better.”
She flipped him off when he laughed.
At lunch, Angelica must have gotten the vibe that other girls were looking at Xander because she all but sat in his lap.
Leave it to Barb to stir the pot.
“We’ll make sure that none of those girls gets anywhere near Xander tonight.”
Angelica smiled at first, then the gears in her tiny brain kicked in, and she frowned.
“What does that mean?”
“Just what I said: we’ll make sure no one other than us talks or dances with him,” Barb said.
“Or does other stuff,” Donnie mumbled.
Angelica frowned, and Xander reminded himself he needed to end Donnie’s life in the near future. He was happy when Kelly smacked Donnie on the back of the head. That didn’t stop the rest of the lunch crew from enjoying teasing Xander and Angelica.
Angelica stood up and grabbed Xander’s hand.
“Come with me,” she ordered.
“But it’s double cheeseburger day,” Xander complained.
Peggy handed him a napkin so he could wrap his sandwich to go. Angelica stomped to the girls’ restroom and pushed him into the handicap stall. Xander stood there as she dropped to her knees and undid his pants. His knees nearly buckled when she tried to swallow him whole.
“Jesus,” Xander hissed.
As she got serious about blowing him, Xander relaxed, unwrapped his sandwich, and took a big bite. Could there be a better way to have lunch?
The naughty, exhibitionistic nature of the public act caused him to cum quickly.
Angelica used her index finger to make sure none of his baby-makers had escaped her mouth before she stood up.
“Remember this tonight.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
’I give us until New Year’s,’ Xander guessed.
Not long after that, he would get his driver’s license, which would significantly expand his booty-call options.
The old man inside him told Xander how disappointed he was in his new self. He reminded Xander that he would’ve given his left nut to be with Angelica the last time through. Xander had to admit the old man had a point; he would have to weigh his options. But for now, the sex was the best he’d ever had in either lifetime. There was no need to shoot the goose laying the golden egg, metaphorically speaking, even if she was boring.
West Fork won its final game of the season. By the time they reached the locker room, the players were told the teams they needed to lose hadn’t, meaning their football season was over.
For Xander, it had been an outstanding season: he’d set the school’s rushing and scoring records with 2,178 yards and 216 points.
Xander sent a message to Angelica to let her know. She didn’t bother to respond, even though Xander knew she’d received it because she sent Barb a message ten minutes after he arrived at the party.
Julie had given Xander a ride to the party. Connie had filled her in on his designated driver duties, so the tradeoff was letting her get drunk tonight. They heard the party before they saw it—if it had been held in town, the party would have been shut down before it started. The music could be heard at least a half-mile away. When they got close, Xander spotted several football players standing in the front yard, each with a beer in hand.
The party was at Mike’s farm, so Julie let Pippa out and drove them around the back of one of the barns.
“Keep an eye on my sister tonight. She says she plans to drink,” Julie said.
“Keys,” Xander said, holding his hand out.
Julie gave them up and left to find her boyfriend. When Xander entered the party, he found Pippa and the Princesses holding glasses of some mysterious purple punch.
“Should you be drinking that?” Xander asked with a touch of concern.
If he knew Brad and Tommy, the punch had a healthy amount of Everclear in it. The potent stuff could be used as a varnish remover, and if the girls drank more than a glass of the stuff, they’d be drunk off their asses.
“Stuff it, lightweight,” Kelly said. “We’re having fun tonight, and we don’t need you to be the voice of reason.”
“I think I have a better use for him,” Peggy said.
