Chapter 15

Coming of Age Sex Story: Chapter 15 - This is the second book in the Wrinkle in Time Trilogy. It is a stand-alone book with an all-new cast that embraces getting a second chance, a do-over. Fortunately, this time, Xander had a cheat: life experience. I’d become the old man who no longer gave a fuck about others’ opinions. The problem was that by the time I learned this, I died … or so I thought. I found myself thrown back in time to do it all over again. Could I get it right this time?

What had he said?

I love you?

That had even the old man scratching his head. The question in Xander’s mind was, what did it mean? All he knew for sure was he’d never felt anything so intense, and he’d really meant it. Pam had worked her way into his heart.

Was it the sex?

He’d had a lot of sex over the past nine months and never once even came close to uttering those words.

Was it desperation because Xander knew what was to come? That Pam was destined to meet an older guy and then fade into the background?

He’d at first accepted that everything would be the same this time, but he was living proof that wasn’t true. And wasn’t the purpose of going through all this again to make positive changes and to no longer be alone? Wouldn’t his life be better with Pam in it?

The biggest problem Xander saw was that it was too soon to make a life-changing commitment. In his past life, he didn’t know anyone who’d made a life with someone they dated their freshman year of high school.

Yes, Xander had read it in stories, so it was theoretically possible. He’d even thought he was in love a few times in his previous life, only to find out his mate didn’t feel the same.

That reminded him that you could love someone, but it didn’t mean they loved you back.

Xander was sure Pam cared for him. They’d been slowly building something between them, making him the luckiest boy in the incoming freshman class. She was the ultimate prize, and it wasn’t just her looks. Pam was the closest thing to an alpha female in their class, someone her classmates looked up to for guidance. To the best of his knowledge, she’d never let that power go to her head or used it in a mean-spirited way.

Donnie, John, and Steve might disagree, but Xander had his own issues with those three.

Xander refocused on the problem at hand and pushed his issue with those three aside until later.

The real question was, what did Pam think of his declaration?

He’d heard that no couple was ever truly equal. They might think they were, but inevitably, one of them was more into the other and had more to lose. At that moment, Xander was the one with his heart exposed. Did he protect it or push forward, regardless of how Pam felt?

By week’s end, Xander’s body ached all over. Coach Hammer was indeed a sadist, always finding new ways to torture his team. Several guys had quit because they couldn’t take it. Coach was running their asses off with at least half of practice devoted to conditioning.

The coach kept telling them they had to improve their speed and endurance. The triple option was fast-hitting, a play that could break wide open in the blink of an eye if the defense hesitated for even a moment. They needed to be prepared to take advantage of those opportunities.

The coach said that as the game wore on, he expected them to have the advantage as their opponents tired.

Their schedule was full of teams that were bigger, stronger, and faster than they were. But with this offense, they didn’t need to overpower the other team. With a bit of sleight of hand, the opposition wouldn’t know where to best employ their superior strengths.

West Fork’s offense had to slow their opponents down long enough for their quarterback to make the proper read. When that happened, they would pick up chunk plays that would make the opponent’s defense second-guess itself.

Their other advantage was that none of the teams on their schedule ran anything close to the triple option. Xander experienced playing against it every day in practice, and that was hard enough. Having only a week to prepare would put the other team’s defense at a serious disadvantage.

Some teams ran the option from the shotgun formation—in particular, what were called RPO (run-pass option) plays, which were in vogue. But those plays didn’t quite have the same impact as when the quarterback was under center because the triple option was quicker. With a small opening, they could have a running back five yards deep in the defense in the blink of an eye. The shotgun took longer to unfold, was farther from the line of scrimmage, and allowed the defense more time to recover.

This was why Xander loved playing running back. Of the freshmen, KJ was lightning quick, but if touched wasn’t big enough to break a tackle. Xander wasn’t as fast, but he enjoyed contact. He guessed that came from his former life, where he played on the line. With his strong thighs, would-be tacklers bounced off him if they didn’t wrap him up. Xander was leading the team in yardage after contact.

He was also happy that John had stepped into being their wide receiver with a renewed focus, using Donnie’s outing of him as a catalyst on the football field. Donnie, on the other hand, just went through the motions. He couldn’t understand why everyone was against him.

Of the three, Steve had been the only one with balls enough to come talk to Xander and apologize. Xander told Steve it was all good. Steve’s eyes told Xander he knew he and Xander weren’t really ‘good,’ but he smiled and shook his hand.

Xander, for his part, didn’t plan to do anything just yet. But someday, he would get his revenge. Brandi and Chantel didn’t deserve what people were saying about them.

He also wanted to distance himself from the incident because of the escalation of his relationship with Pam. Granted, it hadn’t turned into the fuck-fest he’d hoped for; she complained about being tender. They hadn’t done more than kiss since.

Pam had also made it a point not to mention his confession of love.

On the other hand, Kelly seemed to show up each day uninvited, feeling free to drop onto Xander’s lap and thoroughly kiss him. Pam told him it was harmless and encouraged him to help Kelly because she was still devastated about John, and Pam thought it helped Kelly get over it. Xander wanted to call bullshit because Kelly hadn’t mentioned John once since watching Xander and Pam have sex for the first time.

That led him to conclude that he had to do something or he would lose Pam, so he sought out Connie Friday night. She was in the habit of walking around the lake near sunset for exercise. That Friday, she found him sitting on a stump, waiting for her.

“Are you stalking me?”

“I have some candy in my pocket if you want to reach in and find it,” Xander said, waggling his eyebrows.

“You’re a creeper, that’s for sure.”

“What can I say when I see a pretty girl? I have to at least give it a shot. Speaking of which, are you about ready to dump that dumb jock of a boyfriend?” Xander asked.

“I’ll tell him you said that.”

Xander held up his hands in defeat.

“Please don’t. I was hoping to ask a favor of you and the dumb jock.”

“This should be good.”

“I owe my girlfriend a date, and since I’m carless, I hoped you two might agree to go on a double date with us. Of course, I would pay for dinner, and maybe we could go parking after we ate,” Xander said.

“Who are you taking? Please tell me it’s not Brandi or Chantel.”

“I take it you heard about the drama. Well, I no longer visit them,” Xander said. “I will be accompanied by Miss Pam Wilder.”

“I thought she dumped you.”

“She did, but my winning personality sucked her back in. Just like it will you,” Xander said with a grin.

“Dream on, thirsty boy.”

“Don’t throw shade at me. There’s no need to be savage.”

“What’s your plan for the date?” Connie asked, ignoring his jab.

“Maybe go somewhere we could get some good pizza, somewhere that wouldn’t break the bank.”

“Besides a free meal, what do I get out of this?” she asked.

“You mean besides my gratitude?”

“Yes, besides that.”

“I hate to ask, but I will: what do you want?” he asked.

“I need a designated driver Saturday night.”

“Okay. You do remember that I’m only fourteen and don’t have a driver’s license, right?”

“And yet, you drove Carl home without any trouble.”

“All right, I’ll do it if you can talk Carl into a double date for Sunday night.”

“It’s a done deal,” Connie said.

“Don’t you have to ask him first?”

“He’s been spending time with Chantel again. He’ll do whatever I tell him.”

’Not touching that,’ Xander thought.

“What time should I tell Pam we’re picking her up?”

“Since she’s Pippa’s age, I would guess her mommy will want her home early. Let’s say five o’clock.”

“I’ll call her and tell her.”

Connie held her finger up. “And tell your mommy you’ll be out late Saturday night.”

“Someday, woman,” Xander said, shaking his head.

“Someday, what?”

“Just someday ... I’ll leave it at that,” Xander said as he stood up.

Connie hugged him and then playfully grabbed his butt. She glanced down and was pleased with the tent in his shorts she’d caused. He was going to wear out his pocket pussy when he got home.

Pam told Xander he was the GOAT for setting up a double date with the starting quarterback and his girlfriend. That they were seniors was what had her the most excited. She even made some innuendos about what she planned to do to him as a reward.

He was used to regular sex, so going almost a week without it had him on edge. He couldn’t wait for their date.

Connie picked him up to go to the party. There were already three other senior girls in the car, all of whom gave him dismissive looks.

“This is Xander, our designated driver, so be nice, ladies,” Connie said.

“Can’t he ride in the trunk?”

All three were good-looking and probably at the pinnacles of their lives. Xander guessed it was all downhill once they put on the freshman twenty in college and got their MRS degrees. Honestly, Xander couldn’t remember any of them from his previous life other than Connie. Senior girls never bothered to acknowledge freshman boys, so why bother learning their names now?

Xander stared out the window as they drove to Lucas Kingston’s house. Lucas was a senior defensive end on the football team whom Xander was getting to know. He seemed like an all right guy.

Lucas lived back in the woods down a dirt track. When they arrived, they saw a bonfire with lawn chairs scattered around and a couple of picnic tables. Next to one of the tables stood a keg and a stack of red plastic cups. There was also a docking station that someone had put their phone on so it could play music on the wireless speakers.

It wasn’t a big crowd, probably forty people, the majority of them juniors and seniors.

Xander grabbed a lawn chair, put it at the edge of the woods, and inserted his earbuds to listen to his own music.
