Sometimes my mind wanders. It happens when my thoughts aren’t tied to just one idea—they drift, explore, and capture snippets of creativity. This wandering can be both liberating and a bit frustrating, depending on whether it fuels my imagination or pulls my focus away from what I’m working on. I try to limit it because I don’t need any excuse to be distracted.
For the most part, not much happens from those rabbit holes I find myself in, but this time, I decided to do something about it.
In Stupid Boy Junior Year, David gets a job acting in the movie The Secret Circle. The story tells how David is introduced to a character named Zak Verwood, who embraces being an actor in Hollywood and all the benefits that come with it. In essence, he’s a bit of a bad influence on young David.
Zak famously shares his experiences from a twenty-four-hour period. Those include hooking up with a waitress in a coatroom, taking two girls home for a threesome, and receiving a hummer from the makeup artist working on the movie.
