We could hear our group coming in the distance and soon could see them.

The group consisted of ---

Reamla and Pramla riding horses had come to greet the new group leader’s mates.

Balto and Wenona from the hunters, Zeanto, Anotolo, Fallata, and Dadra from the protectors, were all leading a mule and travois.

Sulama, Bowanta, Looma, driving three wagons, Domana and Attla each driving a carriage.

The fact that this group were hunter gatherers that moved around following game and available food became very clear when their huts were taken down and everything they owned piled onto the folded halves of the hut.

The hut was made from hides sewn together. Two halves connected together to form the hut. Each half had part of their belongings piled on it. Then it was folded into a pack that was carried like a backpack. There were a few sleds made from logs that were also used to pull heavier items.

It took just over two hours to have their entire camp packed and loaded onto the wagons, sleds, and travois.

We had a little more trouble getting the new people comfortable riding bareback so I decided that we would lead the animals behind an experienced rider.

We decided to have an early dinner then head for the cave. We reached the cave just after sunset and had no issues the entire time which made me very happy.

Zeanto and Lahoomel paired up and were talking the entire time we rode toward the cave. Pramla and Reamla were paired up with Eaomol, Jitlemol, Maamol, and Ohamol chatting away thick as thieves.

I just shook my head as Tila and Nala laughed at my actions.

This time there were plenty of people to assist the new members move their belongings into the living area and help them get established. Everyone was also shown how to use the toilet, sink, and shower.

The armor was explained and it took quite a while to explain that they did not have to wear the armor all the time. They just needed to make sure they put it on every time they left the cave. It was suggested that they put it on every morning just in case they were asked to help with something outside of the cave and would not have to go back to their living area to put on the armor. They did not have to sleep in the armor. Everyone had a good night’s sleep and were shown to the main area for breakfast the next morning. The new women were allowed to watch but told they would be added to the rotation as everyone was not needed to cook the meals.

Then came the weapons training, everyone was allowed to try the compound bow and if they were not able to draw the bow they were taught how to use the crossbow. I finally found out that all the women also carried a slingshot. I was told since Tila and Nala had their pistol as well as bow and crossbow they felt it was important to have a slingshot. This made so much sense I suggest the men carry one as well. That became a decision each man had to make. Most were comfortable with their machete, hatchet/war club as backup weapons but there were a few that took a slingshot.

Reamla explain that the bow and crossbow were large and could not be carried all the time but the slingshot could and it did not take anymore time to get the slingshot out and shoot than it did using the bow or crossbow. This fact made even more sense for the women to have the slingshot all the time.

All the males 17 and older took compound bows. All the females 12 and older took crossbows along with Honamel and Junamel, twins who were 11. The six children 4 and older took slingshots. Iotemel who was 3 could not yet work the slingshot due to his smaller size. He was much smaller than the twins Ganto and Ganta. The remaining four children were 2 and 1 much to young to understand how to use let alone physically use the slingshot.

This is when we discovered two new carriages and another wagon along with four more female donkeys and two female mules. Something else I noticed but was not sure if any of the others did was the fact that the carriages were larger allowing for four more people to ride in them bringing the number up to 10 riding and 12 counting the driver and guard. They still entered the back and sat along the sides facing each other.

We needed to figure out who would ride where if we were to move out as an entire clan. This would be rare occasions like large hunts and gatherings to prepare for winter. Maybe a vacation type movement to a beach or something like that. It also could be an emergency that required our entire group to move out. There was no way to know, I just like being prepared.

I took out a thin hide and grabbed a small stick, using a knife I sharpened the tip and then burned it in the fire. Then I began to list everyone in our clan. I was shocked when the count was 85 I knew it was going to be large but I was thinking more around 60 to 70 maybe 75 not 85.

Tila, Nala, Reamla, Lahoomel, Eaomol, Jitlemol, Coomel, Maamol, Ohamol, Zeanto, Pramla, Yamato, and Sulama were all watching me wondering what I was doing. When I noticed them I stopped and explained which only caused more questions such as what numbers and counting were along with letters. They understood names and words but had never known they could be drawn.

Using the back of the stick and the dirt floor I drew the alphabet and my name then numbers from 0 to 9. Counting they understood but only using their fingers and hands and how many hands. So basically they worked with base 10. Which if I used metric it would be easier for them to understand later.

I had not written down any names. I had just listed how many from each group and then I had the leaders count their group and confirm my count. Quickly it was determined I was correct and our clan numbered 85.

I was then told supper was ready which ended my counting project for now. After dinner we had a meeting to go over the rules and leadership roles once again.

I wanted Lahoomel as chief, Zeanto, Coomel, and Yamato to be the sub-chiefs as everyone would to refer to them. They were fine with these roles and did not even bother with who was over who as they all were under my leadership.

Reamla was designated the head-woman as she was the oldest at 42 and the most experienced. Eaomol, Jitlemol, Pramla, Ohamol, Sulam, and Maamol would be designated as her assistants. They chose to all be head-women with Reamla overall in charge. I was not going to question or argue. I was still learning but knew enough to not mess this up. I was not surprised when the men had nothing to say about it either. They were more experienced than me.

Nobody was concerned with my age since I looked to be in my mid-thirties even though I was only 28. Since I had been sent or chosen by the Spirits. Tila and Nala were designated my protectors.

Everyone knew I had nine mates but that was accepted since the Spirits had chosen me.

When our meeting was finished everyone went to their home and did what normally happens at night.

Bathing and putting the young to bed then adult exercises to assist with sleep.

I still had nine women I was duty bound to deal with and appreciated the fact that I only had to deal with three a night. I cuddled and loved on all of them but only three tried to procreate, sometimes more than once.
