While I was eating breakfast Zeanto, Reamla, Tila, and Nala all moved to sit near me and asked what we should do today. I had finished eating so Wenona took my plate and juice cup to be cleaned. Shana refilled my mug with coffee this time, gave me a kiss, and went to help finish cleaning up breakfast stuff.

I took a drink, smiled, then said that we should break into groups. Hunters, gatherers, farmers, and housekeepers. They all understood what hunters and gatherers were but asked what a farmer and housekeepers were.

I explained that farmers were people that took care of plants and the animals. Reamla asked if I was talking about the plants we had moved to the barn area. I nodded saying that was exactly what I was talking about and that we might be able to move more plants since we now had more people to help. Zeanto and Reamla both said that would make gathering safer and easier. I smiled and nodded.

Tila then asked if housekeepers cleaned up our living area like after a meal.

I said that was mostly what it meant and added that caring for the young and when the time came to care for the elders. Zeanto asked what an elder was. When I explained that elders were very old people that needed help due to their age almost like becoming a child again. They all looked at each other and then said there were no elders and they could not think of anyone that had ever gotten so old they could not take care of themself.

I asked how old was the oldest person they could remember. Nala said she remembered a woman that was almost 5 hands of two hands. But she was killed by a tiger. Zeanto said that three fingers back the chief was 4 hands of two hands but was killed by the chief who replace him.

I said that since we had the cave for protection and better weapons to hunt and protect ourselves with we would soon have elders to care for. They all looked at each other, nodded their heads and smiled.

Tila said this would be a very good thing.

I then said that I should have said cave keeping or living area keeping. Nala asked if house was another word for hut. I smiled and said it was. Zeanto asked where this word house came from. I just said it was used by the people where the Spirits took me from.

I told him that we needed to get everyone together to explain all the wonderful things we had and why.

The entire clan as I called our group when everyone was present, numbered forty-five.

I once again explained how I had died or almost died and was saved by Spirits. These Spirits were NOT GODS! I knew this because they did not use divine power to do the things they had done. They used tools like we do. They were WAY MORE POWERFUL than we would ever be.

I went on to explain that they wanted to help us, the only way they could at this time was to bring me here to help everyone. They had provided the cave, the wagons, other tools, and the animals and would continue to help as long as we did the right things and were always doing good.

Everyone understood and you could see a sign of better understanding or feelings after this explanation. I really felt it would only make things easier in the long run. There was just so much that was unexplainable that after I had given a reasonable explanation it was easier to accept things.

I then said that we needed to break into small groups. Hunters, and that would not be limited to only men. This got some funny looks until I said that anyone who could shoot a bow or crossbow most accurately would be a hunter and or protector. You could see the understanding instantly as heads started to nod and smiles appeared. I then added that age would not be a limiting factor either.

Zeanto, Reamla, Balto, Yamato, Wooshoo, Pramla and Sulama all began to protest until Nooma, Kimla, and Promolo all took out their slingshot and sadly put them on the ground in front of me. The look on every single one of those protesting was actually funny but it was not a funny point. I told the youngsters to pick up their slingshot and never go anywhere without it. The parents of these kids quickly ran up to them and hugged them apologizing for what they had thought was protecting them.

This group of adults became the clan council. When it was suggested we be called Neal’s clan I quickly said NO and suggested we just be known as the Cave Clan. Everyone liked the ease and truth behind that name so it was decided. We broke into four groups.

The first group of Hunters would be Balto, Cootoo, Shana, Wenona, Mealla, Chato with Yamato in charge.

The Protectors would be Wooshoo, Anotolo, Drooto, Fetmo, Mufalo, Echoto, Fallata, Dadra, Foshta, Boomala, Cealma, with Zeanto in charge.

Gatherers would be Sulama, Bowanta, Looma, Trulama, Viola, Gruto, Kooma, Haruto, Juntalo, Hatala, Janto, Nooma, Promolo, Kimla with Reamla in charge.

The Keepers would be Russila, Domana, Attla, Winina, Ganta, Ganto, Lomana with Pramla in charge. Keepers would tend to the animals, do the gardening, cooking, cleaning (everyone would help with keeping things clean), and watching the very young children. When the time came they would look out for the elderly.

When it was felt necessary, everyone would group together to do a hunt or a large gathering and of course to protect the clan. Tila and Nala were always with me and we would move around the different group activities and were ready to respond to any group that needed us. Sometimes one of us would go with each group that went outside of the cave since the keepers were safe inside the cave we did not have to worry about anything bothering them.

It was decided that each group would go out today after lunch. The hunters would all ride and bring two mules pulling travois and a wagon to bring back whatever game they managed to find. The gatherers would take a carriage for everyone to ride in and wagon to bring back what they gathered. The protectors would also be riding and would split between the hunters and gatherers.

Not all of the members of a group went out every time, some would stay back and help the Keepers. Gatherers that stayed back assist the keepers with all their tasks. Hunters and any protectors that stayed back would practice with their weapons and also help with any heavy physical tasks, they also could go to either group if they were needing assistance.

Yamato, Cootoo, Shana, Mealla, and Chato were the hunters going out today. Wooshoo, Fetmo, Mufalo, Fallata, Boomala, and Cealma were the protectors going with them. Shana and Mufalo would drive and guard the wagon.

Zeanto, Anotolo, Echoto, Dadra, and Cealma would be the protectors going with the gatherers. Reamla, Bowanta, Trulama, Viola, Kooma, Juntalo, Hatala, Janto, Nooma, Promolo, and Kimla were the gatherers for today. Bowanta would drive a carriage and Trulama would drive a wagon.
