Chapter 10

Young Adult Sex Story: Chapter 10 - A young man, aspiring to be a Country Music performer, happens to run into a young girl his age, who is also hoping to make it big in Country Music. After a scuffle in a Truck Stop, he helps her escape her father and step mother. They manage to hitch a ride with a trucker going to Nashville. Once there they lease a room together, and begin to explore Music Row. Their first big break comes when they are allowed to perform on a WSM Radio Sidewalk Broadcast.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, I want to welcome each and every one of you here tonight, and thank you for coming out to help us introduce to Nashville, some of the newest talent this city, and this state has to offer. If you happened to be listening to the WSM AM Radio Sidewalk Broadcast earlier today, you may have heard these four talented young people perform.”

Most of those here must have been listening, the way they stood and cheered. I looked around at my three friends to see them looking at me, then each other. Before I realized what was happening, Jimmy was introducing me.

“To start the night off right, I want to introduce to you one of the most talented young musicians I have ever had the privilege of bringing to The Wild Horse Saloon, to perform.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, here he is, Beau William Carter. Better known to his fans, as Beau Billy.

“Help me welcome him to The Wild Horse. I promise, you will not be disappointed.

“Beau Billy, please come up here and give our friends some of the best Country Music they will ever hear.”

I could hardly believe the applause, as I followed the stagehand over to the steps, then grabbed the handrail to steady myself until the spotlights hit me. I can see the stool, my guitar and three mics.

When I turned to sit on the stool, I couldn’t see anything past the edge of the stage, with the spotlights still on me. When I pulled the stool closer to the mics, the overhead lights came on and the spotlights went off, just as I pulled my hat off and brought my harmonica over my head, and shifted it back in place.

The applause started again, but I wanted to start this night off right, and hopefully make them remember me.

I managed to swallow that knot in my throat ... and wave my hat overhead.

“HELLO NASHVILLE ... I’M BEAU BILLY CARTER.”

I didn’t wait, I grabbed my guitar while they were still standing and clapping. I had to wonder, did this many people really hear the WSM broadcast. Surely they must have played that entire radio broadcast again.

As soon as I cut down on my own, really slow version of Dixie, I fell in love with this sound system. The three mics make my music become even more alive, even better than the stereo at the studio earlier today. But I was wearing headphones then.

I wasn’t even through the first verse when the crowd really got into this one. Even the ones who weren’t standing earlier, are standing and cheering as I played my slowest version of this old Song of the South, over and over - four times.

Oh, I wish I was in the land of cotton, Old times there are not forgotten. Look away, look away, look away Dixie Land!

In Dixie’s Land, where I was born in, early on one frosty mornin’. Look away, look away, look away Dixie Land!

I wish I was in Dixie, Hooray! Hooray! In Dixie’s Land I’ll take my stand, to live and die in Dixie. ---------------------------------------------------------------------

I didn’t waste any time, I started playing - For The Good Times -

For The Good Times Kris Kristofferson © 1968

Ray Price Arrangement

Don’t look so sad - I know it’s over - But life goes on - And this Old world will keep on turning - Let’s just be glad - We had some time to spend together - There’s no need to watch the bridges - That we’re burning

Lay your head upon my pillow - Hold your warm and tender body - Close to mine

Hear the whisper of the rain drops - Blowing soft against the window - And make believe you love me - One more time - For the good times

I’ll get along - You’ll find another - And I’ll be here - If you should find you ever need me.

Don’t say a word about tomorrow - Or forever - There’ll be time enough for sadness - When you leave me - Lay your head upon my pillow - Hold your warm and tender body - Close to mine - Hear the whisper of the rain drops Blowing soft against the window

And make believe you love me - One more time - For The Good Times...

For my third number, I played another oldie that has been embedded in my mind since the first time I heard it.

TODAY I STARTED LOVING YOU AGAIN, by Merle Haggard

Merle Haggard & Bonnie Owens© 1970

Today I - started loving you again, Now I’m right back where I’ve really always been,

I got all over you just long enough to let my heartache mend

And then today I started loving you again

What a fool I was to think I could get by With only these few million tears I’ve cried

I should have known the worst was yet to come And that cryin’ time for me had just begun

Today I - started loving you again And I’m right back where I’ve really always been

I got all over you just long enough to let my heartache mend

And then today I started loving you again

Today I - started loving you again And I’m right back where I’ve really always been

I got all over you just long enough to let my heartache mend

And then today I started loving you again

This crowd is really wild now, and for the first time ever, I felt like I just may be I as good as I’ve been told. I didn’t have time to linger on that thought, as Jimmy stepped upon the stage again to introduce Rily and Rita.

Even if these sisters weren’t even going to sing, just looking at them is enough to make the crowd cheer and whistle.

Those skin-tight, faded jeans, their boots and that long blonde hair, was enough to make this place tremble like an earthquake with applause.

They’re standing on either side, and out in front of me a little, as both of them turned to nod at me. We did the first three songs that we recorded at the studio earlier, and even as I played, the thought ran through my mind. There’s no doubt, these girls really are are going all the way.

HELP ME MAKE IT THROUGH THE NIGHT

Kris Kristofferson©

Sammi Smith arrangement

Take the ribbon from my hair Shake it loose and let it fall Layin’ soft upon my skin Like the shadows on the wall

Come and lay down by my side ‘Til the early morning light All I’m takin’ is your time Help me make it through the night I don’t care who’s right or wrong I won’t try to understand Let the devil take tomorrow Lord, tonight, I need a friend Yesterday is dead and gone And tomorrow’s out of sight And it’s sad to be alone Help me make it through the night Lord, it’s sad to be alone Help me make it through the night Lord, it’s sad to be alone Help me make it through the night ------------------------------------------------------------------

I looked at them, then nodded when they did, and started playing their second number...

LOVING HIM WAS EASIER Kris Kristofferson©

Vikki Carr Arrangement

I have seen the morning burning golden on the mountain in the skies

Aching with the feeling of the freedom of an eagle when he flies

Turning on the world, the way he smiled upon my soul As I lay dying

Healing as the colors in the sunshine and the shadows of his eyes

Loving him was easier than anything I’ll ever do again

Coming close together With a feeling that I’d never known before, in my time

He ain’t ashamed to be a man or afraid to be a friend

I don’t know the answer to the easy way he opened every door in my mind

But dreaming was as easy as believing it was never going to end

Loving him was easier than anything I’ll ever do again

Waking in the morning to the feeling of his fingers on my skin

Wiping out the traces of the people and the places that I’ve been

Teaching me that yesterday was something that I never thought of trying

Talking of tomorrow and the money, love, and time we have to spend

Loving him was easier than anything I’ll ever do again

After their third number, I stood when they came over to me. Both of them leaned over on either side of me, stretching up to kiss my cheeks.

This crowd went wild sure enough then. The whistles and shouts made Rily and Rita smile at me, and each of them hugged me again before they backed up to point at me, like I’m the one they were cheering for.

They were escorted off stage by the stagehand, and before I could turn and sit on my stool again, Jimmy was up here beside me.

“Get ready, this place is going to erupt when I introduce Bobbie.”

I had seen her dressed in her jeans earlier, with her long straight, black hair down past her butt, yet when she stepped out on stage with the spotlight on her, I knew what Jimmy was talking about.

Before he could even introduce her, the crowd was yelling her name and clapping. Someone must have tipped them off about her name, and that she sang on the WSM Sidewalk Broadcast this morning.

Jimmy finally got them to quiet down enough to introduce her. I just knew she was going to be as nervous as me, but if she was, she handled it like a pro.

“Ladies and Gentlemen I want you to welcome this young lady, who is about to steal your hearts and make you even more glad than ever, that you were here tonight.

“If you will, stand and welcome the real, Bobbie Sue McGee, and just wait until you hear her, singing her song...

“Here she is, Bobbie Sue McGee!”

This entire place felt like it was actually trembling, just as Bobbie turned to me and nodded.

I gave her the intro just as the crowd was settling down. I’ve always pointed my harmonica at her, when to start, but this time I looked up at her and nodded my head, then took a deep breath and let them have some of the real, Bobbie McGee.

As soon as she started belting out the words to this song, the crowd fell silent, and though some were still standing, Bobbie is the only thing other than my guitar and harmonica that can be heard.

Me And Bobby McGee:

Lyrics: Kristofferson/Foster ©1969 music: Kristofferson/Foster

Busted flat in Baton Rouge, waiting for a train - Feeling nearly faded as my jeans

Bobby flagged a diesel down just before it rained - Took us all the way to New Orleans

Well I took my harpoon out of my dirty red bandanna Blowin’ sad - while Bobby sang the blues - Windshield wipers slapping time - Holding Bobby’s hands in mine - We sang up every song that driver knew

Freedom’s just another word for nothing left to lose - Freedom ain’t worth nothing but it’s free - Feeling good was easy Lord when Bobby sang the blues - Feeling good was good enough for me - Good enough for me and Bobby McGee

From the coal mines of Kentucky to the California sun - Bobby shared the secrets of my soul - Standing right beside me Lord in everything I’ve done Bobby’s body kept me from the cold - Somewhere near Salinas, Lord I let him slip away - Looking for that home I hope he’ll find - I’d trade all my tomorrows for a single yesterday - Holding Bobby’s body close to mine

Freedom’s just another word for nothing left to lose Freedom ain’t worth nothing but it’s free Feeling good was easy Lord when Bobby sang the blues Feeling good was good enough for me Good enough for me and Bobby McGee

For her second number, she and I decided on doing one of Leanne Rimes songs...

WHAT DO I DO WITH ME Lyrics by: Royce Porter, David Lewis, and David Chamberlain©

What do I do, now that I’m on my own - What we did together beats - anything I’ve done alone - Since the day that you left - I’ve been asking myself - Is this how it’s gonna be - Without you what do I do with me
