Chapter 6: Competition
Drama Sex Story: Chapter 6: Competition - Katie is enjoying summer vacation at an Atlantic beach house with her boyfriend and fellow undergraduate Sam. Katie's host is the man she calls "Pops"—who helped raise her—and his voluptuous girlfriend April. Katie is fiercely loyal to Pops, and gleeful when she (and Sam) overhear April being thoroughly plowed in the other bedroom. Sam wants Katie to finally explain her history and her attachment to Pops. Then April comes by their room, and Katie wraps her up in a huge hug.

Avoiding temptation, I followed Katie up the outside stairs instead of our naked guests. Katie introduced them to April and Pops, gesturing to match names to faces.
“From next door, let me introduce Grace and Sheila. This is my Pops and his girlfriend, April. His name is Bob, but I call him Pops because he raised me as a single father since I was young.”
Politely, April asked if our guests were partnered, and if I had offended them by watching from the end of our deck.
“Not at all, April,” Grace continued. “I’ve explained to Sam that we are exhibitionists, and if somebody is bothered by bisexual women making love they can just fuck off.”
“Damn right. Fuck all the way off,” added Pops. “Love is love. I see your matching rings; you two are serious. Committed. And you’re not shy ... April, what are you doing?”
She was removing her swimsuit!
“Bob, look at those two. Of course, you’re already looking. So is Sam. It’s OK, I don’t mind you staring if they don’t. But I’ll be damned if I don’t remind you who’s number one.”
“April? Honey? Sweetie? As long as I live, I could never forget you. When we leave this wilderness, I need to go to the jewelry store.”
“Not without me, you don’t. Turkey!”
I couldn’t stop myself.
“April, first it’s chicken, now it’s turkey. You’re some kind of bird brain!”
Katie snorted. April shook her fist. “How does Katie put up with your ass?”
But Pops wasn’t done. Behind his eyes, something softened—the unmistakable look of a man imagining a loving future.
“Where are you two from? We could invite you to the wedding. Despite what you see, April is gorgeous in a fancy gown, too. I haven’t felt this way since my wife died.”
He stopped, noticing the tears just beginning to spill from Katie’s eyes.
“Katie? Oh, my girl, what’s wrong? Why are you crying?”
“I love you, Pops, but sometimes you ask dumb questions. I’m so happy I could explode. April, I miss ... I miss having a mom...”
That was all she managed before burying her face in my chest. I put my arm around her shoulders and lightly squeezed.
Sheila exchanged looks with Grace and with Pops, who was now clutching April the way I was holding Katie.
Quietly, he said, “There’s a pot of decaffeinated coffee in the kitchen. Please grab a couple of mugs and join us. When Sam is released, he’ll bring over a couple more chairs.”
“We don’t want to intrude, Bob.”
“The worst thing you could do right now is leave us on our own to deal with all this ... wetness. He and I are mighty, manly men who can’t handle this mushy stuff.”
Muffled, April wasn’t having it.
“Sheila, it’s all bullshit. Bob cuddles me; he is my squishy bear.”
Sheila said, “I believe you. I’ll bring the coffee out.”
An hour later, the six of us had learned a lot about each other. Grace’s parents, being younger than Sheila’s, were much more open to their daughter’s lesbian relationship. Sheila, though, displayed her obvious frustration, verging on fury, as her parents showed nothing but contempt for Grace.
My parents were oversupportive of Katie and me, demanding weekly updates on our marriage and childbearing plans. They even tried to reassure me about finances once Katie and I got married.
I guess I should call them when we get back from the beach house.
Seeing the way Pops looked at April, I knew I needed to make a clear promise of my own to Katie before the night ended.
Above us, a setting crescent moon and twinkling stars added to the warm evening. Abruptly, Sheila stood up.
“Call me old-fashioned, but I think life-changing romantic declarations should be followed by vigorous sexual intercourse. Grace and I are going back to our rental, and I expect you two to do your manly duty for these lovely women. We’ll be back tomorrow with lunch for you and a complete play-by-play.”
“Good night, lovers,” added Grace, and the two of them disappeared down the stairs to the sand.
“Those are the nicest lesbians I’ve ever met,” I said, aware of how dumb it sounded the moment it left my mouth. I brought the cold coffee pot back to the kitchen. Katie and April followed me, carrying the mugs and whispering conspiratorially.
Katie said, “You had to one-up those two? Unnecessary. Pops’ eyes still stayed on you tonight.”
“I know, but that was part foolish loyalty. Can I tell you a secret?”
I coughed, and turned toward the hallway to allow April some privacy.
