Karl fucked Alisha for what felt like hours. Or it might have been hours. It was hard for Karl to tell; everything merged together into a decadently sensuous dance of flesh. He eventually must have carried Alisha into her bedroom from the kitchen. Karl didn’t recall doing so, but at some point he realised that the blonde woman was face down on a bed, her cries muffled by pink silk pillows as he slammed into her from behind.

Karl’s memories were disjointed, fragmented. It was hard for him to focus on any one thing. If he remembered what he did with Alisha, it was in the nature of watching a slideshow. Alisha on all fours, her rounded ass rippling with every hard thrust. Alisha riding him, her face screwed up in terrible pleasure as she frantically bounced up and down. Alisha on her knees, her face reddening as she tried to relax enough for Karl to get all of his dick down her throat. Alisha, Alisha, Alisha ... Karl had felt possessed, unable to stop. He had been drifting in and out, the only constant and important thing in his world the feeling of pleasure — the feeling of power — that had been coursing through him. He had been tireless, a machine. Just like he had with Jessica, Karl hadn’t stopped even when Alisha had begged him to give her a moment to recover. Why would he? Just like with Jess, Alisha had soon started moaning again, her cries of pleasure filling her bedroom.

But now it was over. Alisha lay on her bed, loosely covered by a sheet, exhausted and asleep. Her hair was spilled out in a messy halo across the pillow, and her arms were untidily arranged about her. At the end she’d barely seemed to know her own name, just blinking owlishly up at Karl as he put her to bed.

Karl had sat on the edge of the bed for a while afterwards, just looking at Alisha. Asleep, she seemed younger, more innocent. He regarded her, thinking about what he had done. As soon as he had been alone with her, as soon as Kate had left, Karl hadn’t been able to stop himself. He’d been looking at and thinking about Alisha with only one thing on his mind. But ... Karl hadn’t come here to do that. He felt confused, like he couldn’t square away his own priorities anymore. On top of that, Karl was now feeling a deep-seated exhaustion that had little to do with the physical exertions of having sex. His limbs felt weak, and his mind was beginning to fog as though he hadn’t slept in days.

Getting up silently from the bed so as not to wake Alisha, Karl got dressed. He could really do with a shower, but his rising sense of guilt was telling him to get out of the house. He’d just cheated on his girlfriend. Fantasies aside, whatever temptations had been thrown his way, Karl hadn’t really thought he’d go through with something like that.

I keep changing my mind on everything. Am I really that weak-willed?

Shaking his head, Karl exited Alisha’s bedroom, closing the door as quietly as he could behind him. He was going to leave as quickly as possible — Karl’s sense of exhaustion was growing by the second — but another hurdle came up.

Turning, Karl froze as he saw Alisha’s sister, Kate, sitting on the sofa in the living room. She was staring at him, and the longer she looked the redder her face was becoming.

Kate cleared her throat, putting an unconvincing smile on her face.

“Uh, Karl ... hi?”

Karl’s mouth worked, but nothing came out at first. He felt like he had when he’d been a kid, getting caught sneaking out of his first girlfriend’s bedroom. He wondered at the look on Kate’s face — she’d practically shoved him and her sister together. Was she now having second thoughts?

“Oh, hey, Kate. When did you, uh, get back?”

Kate blushed harder, but she seemed to be beginning to relax. She leant forward, propping her head up with her hands.

“Going by the screams coming from my sister’s bedroom, about four orgasms back?”

Karl forced a laugh.

“Ah, sorry. I didn’t realise we were so loud.”

“You were and you weren’t.”

“What does that mean?”

Kate sat back, crossing her legs. She idly kicked with one foot as she regarded Karl.

“Well, you hear your sister screaming, you have to make sure she isn’t getting murdered, right? So I may have listened at the door. At least until I was certain that it was fun-time screams and not the other thing.”

“That’s ... very dedicated of you.”

Kate’s lips quirked upwards, at odds to her pink face.

“What can I say? I love that silly, repressed woman. Although I guess she’s loosened up quite a bit by now, eh?”

“This is ... a very odd conversation.”

Kate shrugged.

“That’s probably because I’m half cut. I had to pour myself a drink so I could deal with all the noise. Is Alisha asleep?”

“Yeah, she is. Couldn’t you have worn headphones or something?”

Kate folded her arms across her chest, looking embarrassed.

“I could have, but then I couldn’t check to see if she was alright.”

It was at this point that Karl finally started to pay attention. Thinking still felt like he was punching through fog, so he’d missed it at first. Kate was almost squirming on the sofa. She kept crossing and uncrossing her legs, and he could clearly see her nipples through the fabric of her shirt. Kate was glancing at him and then away — her eyes flickering up and down his body. Lingering. It wasn’t the look or actions of a woman who was just concerned about the wellbeing of her sister.

Oh fuck, it’s happening with her too. I ... am I really the one doing this?

Karl felt like clutching at his head. It was so hard to focus. His limbs were leaden, and everything seemed to be coming from a long way away.

Karl forced a smile.

“Well sorry to put you through all that. But I really should get going.”

Kate got to her feet. She took a hesitant step towards him.

“You don’t have to leave on my account. You could ... stay? For a little bit at least. I could get you a drink, tell you more about Bracken Ridge?”

Karl licked his lips. He felt a strange surge within him, something that was pushing him towards Kate, but it was weak. For the first time, Karl recognised the sensation. It was akin to the driving force that had been tempting him with Jessica, Alisha, and Amanda ... but it had no real potency. An ineffectual flailing at his back, attempting to thrust him towards the pixie-haired blonde. Strangely, it was its very weakness that let Karl feel it properly for the first time. It was strong enough for him to feel, but not strong enough to take over.

What the fuck — that’s not me! And if it’s not ... what is it?

A surge of dread swept through Karl. There was a power here that he didn’t understand. Not even slightly. He’d only half expected things to work when he’d used it consciously the first time with Jess — and had afterwards been too excited about the possibilities to really delve into it. But now ... had something been controlling him this whole time? And if it had, why would it be telling him to cheat on Jessica? What was the point of any of it?

Karl moved slightly to the side, towards the front door. Kate’s eyes tracked him intently, and he gave her a hesitant smile.

“Sorry. I’d love to, but I have to get going. I really shouldn’t stay out too —”

“Do you have to get home to your girlfriend?”

Karl froze. Kate was staring at him unblinking, her head cocked to the side.

I guess that answers the question about whether she knew I had a girlfriend or not.

“Kate, I —”

Kate took a step closer to him. She shook her head.

“You what? Don’t look so worried, Karl. Like I said before, I just want my sister to be able to relax, to have a good time. You wouldn’t fit with her long term. Although —”

Here Kate laughed, looking bemused.

“— that was before I heard what you were doing to her. So relax. I’m not going to say anything. And my sister knows that you aren’t single. Alisha’s the one who told me. If we don’t care, why should you?”

Karl took another step to the side, edging towards the door. That didn’t entirely track with what she had told him earlier — and he couldn’t help but note that she was including herself in the equation. Saying ‘we’ instead of just referring to Alisha.

“Look, Kate — I really have to get going. It’s getting late, and I —”

Kate folded her arms across her chest. She raised an eyebrow, a fey light in her eyes as she looked at him. Kate let out a laugh, light and carefree.
