After relearning how to walk on her own, the first hurdle Trina had to overcome was using the bathroom. The information that Obake had given her in order to blend in with human society included things like biological functions but that information did little in helping her to properly recognize the signals her new body was giving her. The first time the feeling hit her, she nearly wet herself before she realised that her bladder needed to be emptied, but she thankfully made it to the toilet before any accidents occurred, sparing her that embarrassment. LIv accompanied her, which made things a little awkward, but she was also grateful to have someone there to explain what it was she was feeling and what steps she had to take to maintain proper hygiene.
The second major thing she had to learn how to do was related to the first, and was actually something she had done while she was an android, but the experience would be very different now. She had to have a shower. As an android she did have to rinse off the gunk and grime that her body had naturally accumulated throughout the day, purely as a way to continue passing as a human. Now, with hot water cascading over her and washing away the sweat and oil her own body excreted, it felt absolutely divine.
Even though Trina knew how to use a shower, Liv insisted she never be alone at all for at least the first few days, just in case. Karmi volunteered to join her in order to monitor her or answer any questions Trina may have, and Trina gladly accepted the offer. While they showered, Karmi helped wash Trina’s hair, warning her about getting soap in her eyes.
“So, how have you been adjusting to having a biological body?” Karmi asked as she worked shampoo into Trina’s hair.
“Good. I think,” Trina answered, closing her eyes per Karmi’s warning. “But everything is so ... different. And I’m not just talking about how I can actually feel the world around me instead of simply being aware of it through sensor data. How I feel ABOUT things is very different too. I suppose you’re partly at fault for that, seeing as how Hiro used a copy of your brain to fill in the holes in my own?”
Karmi gave a little smile at that. “I suppose I am. Sorry if you’ve developed some weird habit or interest that you didn’t have before,” she said while working up a lather with the shampoo.
Trina sighed in enjoyment as Karmi massaged her scalp. Who knew that showering with someone else would feel so relaxing? “Don’t worry, I’m not blaming you or anything. It’s just ... I find myself considering things that I couldn’t have cared less about before. This will sound horrible, and I understand that it is, but so long as my father’s goal was accomplished, humanity itself could have been wiped out and I would have considered that an acceptable loss.”
“But now?”
“Now? Now the thought of causing just one person’s death, even indirectly, makes my stomach churn.”
“Sounds like some of my morality really has been imprinted on you,” Karmi suggested as she rinsed out the shampoo. “That’s how the thought of killing makes me feel too. I know that sometimes it might be necessary, like taking out a terrorist before they can blow up a nuke or something-”
“Like what Big Hero 6 did to my father?” Trina interrupted before Karmi could say more. Such a statement could have been accusatory, but Trina’s tone was one of merely stating facts, not one of resentment.
“That’s not what I was going to say, but ... yes. No offence, Trina, but Obake was a psychopath, literally. Baymax has the brain scan to prove it. He had to be stopped. But even so, Hiro did everything he could to try and save him.”
“I know,” Trina said sadly. “I saw the security footage where my father told Baymax to leave him. I don’t think I’ll ever understand why he chose to die, but I’m done trying to blame Hiro or the others for it.”
Karmi suddenly hugged Trina from behind, a bit awkward as they were both naked and in the shower. “I’m sorry,” she said in sympathy. “Obake may not have been a good man, but he was still your father. It’s hard, losing a family member.”
Trina turned and returned the hug, failing to notice the slight blush on Karmi’s face when their breasts squished against each other. “Thank you,” she said. She then offered to wash Karmi’s hair just as Karmi had done with her. Karmi accepted and the two spent the remainder of their shower together engaged in much less weighty conversation.
The next hurdle Trina had to deal with ended up being even more enjoyable than showering: nourishment. The Sycorax cafeteria had a huge variety of food that was both nutritious and delicious, and Trina was encouraged to take samples of as many different things as she could to get a feeling for what flavours she liked and didn’t like. She was in heaven from the very first bite.
“Oh god, this is so good!” she exclaimed, but in her haste to take another bite she began to choke. Thankfully a little bit of coughing was all that was needed to clear out the bit of food that had gone down the wrong way.
“That’s why it’s really important to take your time and chew your food,” Karmi said with a little smile while offering Trina a glass of water. “We don’t blame you for being excited to try new things but you don’t need to rush. The food’s not going anywhere.”
“Thanks,” Trina said as she took the offered glass. She carefully drank, not wanting a repeat of her choking, and the cool water felt very pleasant as it went down her throat.
The rest of the meal was much less hurried, though Trina still gasped and marvelled at the flavour of each new dish. It didn’t seem to matter if it was delicious or just plain bad, she enjoyed every bite. She would have happily kept on eating for another hour, but the others warned her that eating too much at once would make her sick. And fat, if she were to eat that much all of the time.
She was allowed one dessert and so she chose ice cream. Plain vanilla for her first time, though she planned on trying every flavour they had eventually. Like using the bathroom, she had knowledge but no real experience when it came to the very popular treat. The others couldn’t help but laugh as they watched Trina’s eyes bulge with delight as she got her first taste.
Unable to resist, she shovelled spoonful after spoonful into her mouth. Hiro warned her of brain freeze but by then it was already too late. A sudden stab of pain behind her eyes slammed into her. “Ah!” she moaned, dropping her spoon and clutching at her head. “What is this?!”
“I warned you,” Hiro said, chuckling slightly. “It’s brain freeze. The blood going past your mouth and up to your brain got too cold from the ice cream and so this is your body’s way of forcing you to stop. It’ll pass in a few seconds, don’t worry.”
Trina squeezed her eyes shut as the feeling intensified for another second, then faded until it was gone completely. She let out a sigh of relief. “So that’s what it feels like. I’ve got to admit, I’m not a fan.”
“Nobody’s a fan of brain freeze,” Megan said, smiling at Trina’s comment. “But like Hiro said, just take your time and that won’t happen.”
For two weeks straight, Trina remained in Sycorax where she underwent constant monitoring and highly controlled experiments to see how she was adjusting to her new body. Had she been a coma patient waking from years of unconsciousness the speed of her recovery would have been considered miraculous. Noodle Burger Boy was there whenever he wasn’t charging back at the Lucky Cat, either helping out, simply talking with her, or getting her up to speed on what she missed while she was out of commission. Hiro and Karmi visited her and helped as much as they could as well. Megan came with them when she could, though with her in high school her hours weren’t nearly as flexible as the other two.
It was during this time that Megan had her sixteenth birthday. She was given a little party at the Lucky Cat with all her friends and family in attendance, which consisted of the members of Big Hero 6, as well as her father, Karmi, and Olivia, each for obvious reasons. She was given a number of gifts, some appropriate for a sixteen year old, some not so appropriate. Her two most unexpected gifts actually came from her father. The first wasn’t something actually tangible: it was permission for Honey Lemon and GoGo to stay the night, and all that that implied. The second was even more surprising. With some assistance from Cass, he had bought her an extremely sexy red baby-doll nightie.
“Wow!” Megan had said as she held it up for everyone to see. She was blushing but couldn’t keep the smile from her face. “Dad, I can’t believe you got me this!”
“Well,” he said, his own face blushing far more than his daughter’s, “you’re in an adult relationship now, and Cass convinced me that you should have some clothing to match.”
“Thank you! I am definitely going to wear it tonight,” she said, holding it against her.
“Not for long, if I had to guess,” Fred said, quickly looking at each of the people who’d be spending the night.
Megan’s blush deepened but she smiled at the prospect. Her lovers also blushed while remaining silent, trying to respect Diego’s wish to not flaunt their intimate relationship with his daughter right in front of him.
That evening, once all their guests had gone, Megan did as promised and put on the barely-there undergarment. The silky bra and panties hugged her body snuggly and left little to the imagination, and the sheer dress portion hid absolutely nothing. When she emerged from the bathroom wearing it Hiro could only stare open mouthed at her, becoming hard in an instant.
“You look absolutely lovely, Megan!” Honey Lemon said from her spot on Hiro’s massive bed. Karmi, GoGo and Hiro, who were all spread out somewhere on the giant mattress, all nodded their agreement.
“Thanks!” Megan said, grinning. “But before we get this after-party started, I think I owe it to my dad to show him what he got me.”
“What?” Hiro said, surprised. “You’re not seriously going to go down there dressed like that, are you?”
“I’ve always shown my dad any clothes he’s got for me. It’d be a shame to break tradition, wouldn’t you think?” she said with a wink, then headed for the door.
“You’re going to give him a heart attack,” Karmi warned, smiling.
“Or a hard-on,” GoGo added.
“Or both,” Hiro said. Not having a daughter of his own, Hiro could only imagine what it would be like to be in Diego’s position but all he could think of were thoughts that were anything but fatherly.
Still, Megan didn’t hesitate as she left the room and headed downstairs to where her father and Cass were watching TV together. Standing by the door, she called out to them from behind. “Hey Dad! Thank you again for the clothes. They fit perfectly. What do you think?”
Without thinking about it because of their routine, Diego turned to see what she was wearing and his eyes went wide in shock. There was his daughter, essentially posing for him, wearing the negligee he had bought her. Even though he knew she would wear it, he never imagined actually seeing her in it and, seemingly against his will, he couldn’t help but see her as anything other than what she was: an incredibly sexy young woman.
He gulped, his mouth suddenly dry, words failing him as he was frozen in place, unable to look away. Despite being covered, Megan’s hard nipples were painfully visible, sticking out sharply against the thin fabric.
Megan laughed. “Speechless, huh?” she said with a grin. “Don’t worry. I’ll take it as a compliment. Hiro had basically the same reaction.”
“Um, Megan, sweetie,” Cass said, her own cheeks colouring noticeably. She too couldn’t help but notice how sexy Megan looked right now. “I’m not sure it’s appropriate for you to be wearing so little in front of your father.”
“No more appropriate than him buying it for me,” Megan countered with a grin. “Besides, it’s not like I’m naked or something. I’m sure you’ve seen plenty of bathing suits that cover less.”
“Yes, but not on you,” Diego finally managed to say. “You, um, you don’t have a bathing suit like that, do you?”
“Why? Wanna see me in one?” Megan teased. Her father’s face grew just a little paler at the thought. She laughed. “Don’t worry, Dad. I don’t have anything more revealing than this,” she said, gesturing to herself. “I just really wanted to say thanks. Hiro and the others really like how it looks on me, too. The thong will take a bit of getting used to, though. I’ve never worn one before,” she added in parting, then turned and headed back upstairs with a noticeable sway in her hips.
The mention of a thong made Diego’s eyes instinctively dart down to Megan’s backside. Again he was rendered mute as he stared at his daughter’s bare ass. Granted, she technically wasn’t nude, but the sheer fabric of the nightie, the incredibly tiny string used for the bra strap, and the equally tiny thong that completely disappeared in between her butt cheeks, meant that for all intents and purposes, Megan was indeed entirely naked from behind.
The two adults watched the teenager leave. “Well, you managed to make quite the sexy offspring,” Cass said with a grin, breaking Diego from his stupor. She reached down between his legs and took hold of his already erect member. “What do you say about us trying to make some more?” Diego was already snipped so the probability of knocking Cass up was currently zero, but the idea of putting a baby in his lover was still a powerful one. More importantly, Cass was giving him a legitimate reason for being as hard as he was, something that didn’t involve incredibly inappropriate thoughts of his own daughter.
Megan headed back to the bedroom feeling incredibly excited. She knew full well what she had allowed her father to see and he hadn’t shot her down in any way, shape, or form. It was a good sign that he was becoming more comfortable with her relationship with Hiro and the others. Perhaps with time he’d be open to even more, like maybe allowing the house to be clothing optional. She had learned on their vacation that not only did she like having sex with both boys and girls, but she also liked being naked, especially with others, and the idea of doing so at home gave her a bit of a thrill.
She was given an even bigger thrill when she entered the bedroom to find all her lovers naked and already fucking, apparently unable to hold back until she returned, with Hiro balls deep in Honey Lemon and Karmi and GoGo eating each other out. In moments she was just as naked as the rest of them and as soon as she joined them on the bed she became the central figure in what was basically a lesbian gang-bang, with a little bit of dick to help balance things out.
In her haste to join her lovers, Megan accidentally forgot to close the bedroom door, thus negating the soundproofing that Hiro had installed. Before Cass and Diego could make it to their own room for the night, they were treated to the sounds of Megan crying out in ecstasy about how someone ate her pussy so well. While hearing others having sex definitely got the two adults’ blood pumping, the fact that their own family members were in the mix made things rather awkward and confusing so they made sure that their own soundproofed bedroom door was shut tight as quickly as possible.
Of all the things Trina was exposed to during her rehab, food was what really captured her attention. She loved tasting new things, especially if they were sweet or savoury. She insisted upon learning how things were made and even snuck into the cafeteria kitchen so she could watch the various kinds of food be prepared, and sneak a sample where she could. She jokingly lamented to Hiro about how she couldn’t just download information like she could before, so if she wanted to know how a dish was made she had to learn like everyone else.
“Have you given any thought as to what you’re going to do once Liv is done with all her testing?” Hiro asked her during one of their many conversations. These talks weren’t just casual conversation, but were also good practice for regular interactions with other people as well as observations of her mental health. “Like, where will you live, and what will you do with your time?”
Trina nodded. “Some. Liv promised to give me regular ‘living expenses’, as she called it. Enough money to rent a place and buy groceries and stuff, so I won’t have to worry about food and shelter. Compensation for allowing her to continue monitoring me and track my development, she said. But as for what to do with my time? Since I’m technically a regular teenager now, I thought about going to school but my father programmed me with way more information than a regular teen would know.”
“Yeah, I imagine regular school life would not be a good fit for you,” Hiro said. “Plus, if you don’t mind me saying this, I’d like it better if you were to do something where someone could keep an eye on you. Not to make sure you’re not doing something bad, but to just be nearby in case your body does something weird or you need help for some reason.”
Trina gave him a small smile. “Thanks. I appreciate it. There’s still a lot I’m getting used to. Like sleeping,” she said. “I never had to before and let me just say the first time I dreamed, it was one of the strangest experiences I’ve ever had.”
“Were there any electric sheep?” Hiro asked, giving her a grin of his own.
“Electric-?” she began to ask, confused, but then made the connection. “Oh, ‘Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?’. Funny,” she said. “But no, there weren’t. At least, I don’t think there were. I can only remember bits and pieces of it, but what I do remember was that it was very strange. There was no logic to anything that happened but I still behaved as though everything was perfectly normal.”
“Yeah, dreams are like that sometimes. Most tend to fade pretty quick, especially the nonsense ones,” Hiro said. “But going back to the subject of you living on your own, did you have a place picked out yet?”
Trina shook her head. “No. I’ve been much too busy with tests and adjusting to day-to-day human life to even think about that.”
“Then may I make a suggestion?” Hiro said, showing a fair amount of nervousness. “You and Noodle Burger Boy are pretty much family, right? Well, he and the other robot mascots essentially ‘live’ in what used to be our garage and they work at the cafe. What would you say to doing the same thing? Not only would you have a place to stay, but you could work at the cafe and learn all sorts of stuff about food from my aunt.”
Trina was truly shocked at the offer. “Really? You’d let me live right next to you?”
“Not next to. With,” Hiro clarified. “I suppose we could do some renovations to make the garage suitable for humans, as it doesn’t have a bedroom or bathroom or anything like that. But why bother when we’ve essentially got a spare room already?”
Trina was thrilled with the idea, but something Hiro said caught her attention. “Essentially?” she asked.
Hiro shrugged. “Well, technically speaking, the room is Megan’s, but she almost never really uses it anymore. Not since...” Hiro began to say, but paused as he realised what he was about to say. “How much has she or Karmi told you about us?” he asked instead.
“About who? You and Megan? Not that much, I think, as any time we’ve spent together has been mostly about me and my adjusting to my new body. I know your aunt and her dad are seeing each other and it’s serious enough that they’ve moved in with you. It’s obvious you two are close to each other too, though with how close you seem to be, if I didn’t already know you were dating Karmi I’d swear that Megan was your girlfriend.”
Hiro blushed slightly. “That’s the thing,” he said eventually. “She is.”
Trina’s eyes opened in surprise. “But aren’t you and Karmi-”
“We are,” Hiro interrupted. “Karmi is my girlfriend, and so is Megan,” he explained. “The three of us are a, um, throuple, I guess the term is.”
Trina stared at Hiro in shock and amazement. “Wow,” she said eventually, then a smile broke out on her face. “Who would have thought that that little bot fighter who blushed so heavily when I kissed him on the cheek would become such a player in so short a time? So, the three of you are all dating? Have you...”
“Gone all the way?” Hiro finished for her. “Yes. And in every possible combination,” he added before she could ask.
Trina blushed slightly as she took a moment to process that. “So Karmi and Megan have been with each other?” Hiro nodded in confirmation and something finally clicked in her mind. “That’s why I feel the way I do when I look at Megan! I’m into her!” she exclaimed excitedly. “Or, more precisely Karmi’s into her, and that attraction got copied over to me. With you it made sense, but I couldn’t figure out why I felt like that for her as well.”
Hiro blushed. “Did you just say you were into me?” he asked. But then a feeling of horror hit him as he realized something. “Oh my god, I’m so sorry!” he quickly said, his voice full of sudden remorse.
“What? What for?” Trina asked, confused.
“We changed your sexuality!”
“You changed my...” Trina began to repeat, then she laughed. “I guess you did! Strictly speaking, I didn’t even have one before! I may have looked and acted like a girl who was attracted to you, but that was all just a show, a ruse to get you to lower your guard and manipulate you. If my attempts at seduction had worked and you eventually managed to get a hand under my clothes, you would have quickly learned that I didn’t actually have these,” she said, cupping her breasts, “or this,” she added, pointing to her crotch.
Despite his feelings, Hiro couldn’t help but blush as Trina brought attention to her very real female body. “So ... you’re not upset?” he asked.
Trina was not, though it took another lengthy discussion to convince Hiro that she really was okay with what he did to save her, unintended consequences included. She also gladly accepted his invitation to move in with him and the others, though there were quite a few things that had to take place before that could happen, the most important being the inevitable meeting with Diego Cruz and Cass Hamada.
When that particular meeting came, coincidentally the very next day, Trina was feeling quite a bit of trepidation. Every interaction she’s had with the chief of police had been when she was in the middle of committing some kind of horrendous crime, the least of which was kidnapping and threatening to kill his own flesh and blood. To say that he had a strong negative bias towards her would be an understatement. And with Cass, while they had never met in person, Trina had destroyed her home and business, causing her countless hours of worry and stress. Plus there were all the times that Trina had literally attacked her nephew.
Hiro and Karmi accompanied Trina, to be her moral support, but they too were feeling quite anxious as to how this meeting would unfold. Neither Diego nor Cass had let anything slip at home as to what they might do or say when they met with her.
As was the case with most areas of Sycorax, the meeting room they were using was a strange mix of business and casual. One side of the room was set up for video conferencing, yet the seating consisted of couches and reclining chairs, and large soft rugs implied shoes were merely optional. Trina paced nervously as she waited for the adults to arrive while Hiro and Karmi sat on the largest couch quietly brainstorming ideas they could use to try and sway Diego to their side if need be.
When Diego and Cass entered the room, all three teens were surprised to see Megan enter behind them. She obviously knew about the meeting but hadn’t mentioned to either of her lovers that she would be here too. “Dad wanted me here, considering the topic,” she said before they could ask.
“Ms. Hamada, Mr. Cruz,” Trina said, bowing to the adults. “Or should I call you Chief Cruz?” she asked Diego.
“Mr. Cruz is fine,” he said. “Right now I’m here as Megan’s father, not the chief of police.”
Trina nodded then gestured to the couch opposite the one Hiro and Karmi were occupying. The newcomers sat down, but before Trina did the same she got down on her knees and bowed her head to the ground. “I’m so very sorry for what I did,” she said. “The fear and danger I inflicted on you all. Words aren’t nearly enough to make up for the wrongs I’ve done, but I hope that they will be enough for you to give me a chance to atone.”
“Trina...” Megan began, her voice full of sympathy, but Diego gently put a hand on her knee, signalling her to stay quiet for the time being.
“Please, get up,” Diego said. “We’re here to discuss things and it will be rather difficult to do so if you’re going to have your face to the ground the whole time.” His voice was flat, making it impossible to tell how he was really feeling. Trina blushed but did as instructed and moved to sit in between Hiro and Karmi. “Now,” he continued once she was seated, “considering our past, I did find it rather surprising when Hiro brought up the idea of you moving in with us.”
“You were the reason our old home had to be demolished,” Cass pointed out.
Trina blushed in shame. “It kind of caught me by surprise too,” she replied honestly. “And I’d be more than skeptical if I were you. But I swear to you, I will never even think about doing anything close to what I did before.”
“So no more causing massive property damage?” asked Cass.
“Or trying to cause another robot uprising and literally melt the city?” Megan asked with a grin. She meant it as a tease, but it still made Trina shrink back in shame. “Sorry,” she said, seeing Trina’s reaction. “I guess it’s too soon for that kind of joke.”
“Yes,” Diego agreed. “But since it was brought up let’s address that issue now, shall we? If you don’t mind, I’m going to ‘change hats’ in a sense and talk to you as the chief of police.” He pantomimed taking off an invisible hat and placing another on his head.
Trina gulped and sat up straight. “Yes, sir,” she said, trying to be as polite and contrite as she could.
“I needn’t go through the list of crimes committed by the android known as Trina,” Chief Cruz began, “But let me begin by saying that had those actions been committed by a human then life in prison would be considered a light sentence.”
“I understand,” Trina said, her shoulders slumping as she looked down at her lap.
“But androids are not human,” the chief continued. “They may look human on the outside but in the eyes of the law they are merely robots. Little more than advanced tools.”
Hiro gave Diego a look of surprise. He had thought Diego was past that kind of thinking considering their past discussions about Trina. Then he noticed Megan very subtly trying to get his attention. Once she saw he noticed, she placed a finger on her lips, indicating she wanted him to stay silent. Curiosity peaked, he did as she asked.
“It’s why we don’t arrest guns for committing armed robbery,” Chief Cruz explained. “We arrest the person using the gun. When it comes to robots committing crimes, it’s not the robot itself, but the one controlling the robot that is guilty of the crime. Or if the bot is autonomous enough, then the one who programmed it to commit said crime on their behalf. For example, if Baymax were to commit a crime then Hiro, who is the one who built and programmed him, would be the one the courts would hold responsible.
“Now, I’ve thoroughly examined everything we know about the android Trina, including her creator, Obake, and what Hiro and his friends discovered about her after the, um, self-destruct incident. I’m no expert on robots and I know next to nothing when it comes to neural nets and artificial intelligence, but what I can say is that this particular android was different. Unique.”
Trina looked up at Diego, unsure of where he was going with this monologue. Not knowing if she should say something in her defence, she remained quiet and listened.
“It would take people with far more authority and knowledge than me to make the call on if that android was sentient enough to be held responsible for its actions,” Diego said, “But even if the answer was yes it wouldn’t change anything because, quite literally, the android known as Trina no longer exists.”
“Mr. Cruz?” Karmi asked, prompting him to explain further.
Diego gave Karmi a quick conspiratorial smile then brought his focus back on Trina. “The only part of the android that survived its self-destruct was its memory core, yes? And that core has now degraded to the point where any remaining information is totally corrupted and irrecoverable. As far as any laws are concerned, Trina the android is gone. Trina the human is not the same entity, and cannot be held responsible for the actions of someone else.”
Trina could hardly believe what she was hearing. “You ... you’d really let me go free on a technicality like that?”
