Erotica Sex Story: Chapter 17 - It’s been over a year since the events of “Aiden Ascending” and no further attempts have been made to seize the ring from Aiden. More powers are in play, and Aiden must protect those who love him while seeking a showdown.

The drive from the airport was maddening. Plus, that annoying hint of nausea wouldn’t fade, and Anna clenched her jaw. At last, she slid her legs from the rideshare’s rear seat and leaped into the final rays of the fading sun. After a quick check of her suit’s short skirt, she tore the phone from her purse.

“Hey, hon,” she said as soon as the call connected. A navy jacket flailing around her blouse-wrapped torso, she pushed through the apartment building’s entrance, dragging a wheeled carry-on. “I’m back in town.”

“Oh, wow. Thought you were—”

“Left a day early.” Wheels thumped and glossy blue heels clicked across the tile as she rolled the bag to the elevator. “I’m going to Aiden’s.”

“Ah, o-okay, dear.” He coughed under his breath. “Is everything, um, alright?”

“Dunno.” She exhaled hard enough to fog the phone’s glass. “That’s why I need to see him.”

Heart thumping, she stepped through the opening doors. After the briefest hesitation—was this the right thing to do, challenge him?—she tapped the button for Aiden’s floor.

“Oh, uh.” Her husband’s breathing hitched. “Alright, um, have fun. Miss you.”

“Love you, babe. See you ... in the morning.”

Yes, she remained hopeful she could change Aiden’s mind. If not ... Well, Rory would suffice. No, that was cruel and uncalled for. He remained her rock, and the poor man might very well be stuck with her blubbering all night.

“Love you too,” he said, and a smile spread across her lips as she ended the call.

Once the elevator halted, despite the quiet bell dinging and the doors parting, she stood motionless, phone shaking in her fist. One last check brought her nothing from Aiden, not a single pulse, not even a dribble.

“Absolutely nothing,” she grumbled.

That got her stomping from the elevator and, stylish heels sinking into the hallway’s plush carpet, she marched towards his suite. Anger bubbled as she tugged a mirror from her purse, but it was sharpened by much more, disappointment, need...

“No, pure fucking desire,” she whispered, slowing to check her hair and makeup in the reflection.

Fine, he wanted to get rid of her, let him try. She wasn’t gonna give up without a fight. Not in her blood. Besides, there’d been something behind his voice. Plus, the ring was out there, playing its role ... Yes, wispy, enticing tendrils still reached for her.

“Hope,” she murmured, before shoving the mirror away and striding the last few feet to his entrance.

After two heavy breaths, she steeled herself, swallowed another of those pesky sick feelings, and tapped the doorbell with a shiny crimson nail. Even as the chimes echoed, the handle turned. Of course, he’d sensed her approach.

When the door opened, the face she missed so much came into view. Her heart thumped, and the universe faded.

“Aiden,” she said in a far lower, shakier voice than planned, while scouring his handsome—no, so far beyond handsome—face.

It was only then that two things happened. First, from somewhere, the ring hummed a little louder. Second, she spotted motion in the dimly lit apartment behind him.

A shadowed silhouette resolved into a sleek woman. Young and beautiful. Gold-tinted brown hair shimmered in a broad fan over a powder-blue half jacket, from beneath which peeked only wispy black lace. With a shapely butt in a short skirt resting against the rear of his couch, she stood with her ankles crossed.

Anna’s breathing hitched. So many emotions smashed together inside her. First to surface came jealousy, and her eyes flashed up at Aiden. As he pulled the door wider, his other palm rose. For a second she only trembled, before stepping inside, gaze fixed on the silent girl. And she was a girl, easily younger than her.

“So, is she why—”

“No, Anna. Not at all.” The door thumped shut behind her, and a large hand found the handle of her suitcase. “She’s like Mary.”

“M-Mary?” she whispered, scanning the motionless figure.

Young or not, the woman possessed blazing blue sapphires for eyes, and they were locked on her. But the girl didn’t move or speak as Anna let him take the suitcase from her and roll it aside.

“Who is...” She found Aiden’s gray pools, and that desire fountained within her. She instantly wanted to dive into them. “H-How?”

“Glad to see you.” He grinned, avoiding her questions, and glanced at the closed door. “Is Rory—”

“He knows I’m here.” She again peeked at the silent figure. “So, what has been—”

“Long story.”

At the palm on her back, she pressed into his splaying fingers, and the last fury fizzled. Pulse once more racing as it should, she looked up at him.

“I missed you, Aiden.” Her hand drifted to his arm. “You shouldn’t have—”

“I know. Sorry. I’m an...” He exhaled, sending heated breath into her open blouse and driving spikes of need through her entire frame. “It’s been challenging.”

Heart racing as he hugged her tighter, she again found the shadowed silhouette. Still unmoving, the girl continued to scan her with those intense blue eyes.

“So, who’s—”

“Leah. Her name’s Leah. And she works for ... Well, that’s part of the long story.”

“Hmm, lemme guess, you’ve rescued another stray.” A giggle she really needed to hear left her lips. “Like me.”

“You’re no stray, Anna.”

At his words and the hand slipping around her waist, she moved into him for a gentle press, but kept her gaze fixed on the distant figure. The girl’s lower lip was trembling. Nope, all of her was quivering, and leather squeaked as the pink nails of both hands sank into the couch back.

“No. No, you’re right,” she whispered. “I’m most definitely not, Aiden.”

Chest tightening, she spun, bounced onto her toes, and tapped her lips to his. Even as his eyelids widened, she sank to her feet and slipped from his hand. After tugging the jacket from her shoulders, she dropped it over a chair and strode, heels clicking, to the girl. Fear flooding them, the blue eyes became saucers as she halted before the wispy brunette and leaned close enough to get a whiff of a very expensive perfume.

“Know who I am ... Leah?”

“Um, n-no, ma’am.” Her hair glimmered as she shook her head.

A strange flicker in those eyes said she was lying. Fine ... Anna inspected her a little more closely, and the girl shook even more. Ah, but the reason for her lie; she needed to be told, to have things explained.

“Not ‘ma’am.’ I’m Anna.” She glanced over her shoulder at Aiden. “His companion. Guess what that means, Leah?”

“D-Don’t...”

The gorgeous young woman’s voice faded. Again, a slow head shake sent gold flickering across her tresses, and both eyes grew even wider as Anna leaned closer. When her teeth found a soft, quivering lower lip, a groan escaped Leah. As the girl’s entire frame shuddered, those toned legs, wrapped in dark silk stockings, rubbed, sending a quiet swishing noise into the darkness.

“It means this.”
