Chapter 10

After reviewing the girl’s clothing, Jane quickly decides they need all new panties, and bras, and honestly, plenty of new clothes. She decides to focus on the panties and some sports bras initially, as well as some comfy clothes to wear around the house, and then take them out to try things on eventually, once things calmed down. “Do either of you need anything else?” Jane says.

“We could use some groceries, Mistress.” Lucia says. “And some feminine products.”

“Here.” Jane says, handing Lucia her phone, open to her grocery list. “Add what you think we need, and pass it to Alexia.”

A few minutes later the list was complete, and Jane tells the girls “Enjoy your day off ladies. Full grocery shopping is tomorrow, I’ll probably leave early. I’ll get what I can at one store tonight though. Don’t let Robert get into too much trouble.”

“Yes Mistress.” They both say, at the same time, and then burst out laughing.

“Any special rules regarding Robert this afternoon?” Alexia asks.

“It’s Lucia’s day/night, so if you want to play with Robert, make sure she is fine with it.” Jane tells Alexia.

Jane decides to visit a few stores before going to get dinner. She starts at a lingerie store she knows is having a buy 10 for $20 sale, managing to snag each of the girls 5 thongs that she knew would drive Robert wild, as well as a lacy set of lingerie for each, before heading to the local big box store to get some more utilitarian clothing, as well as a few items from the grocery list. Afterwards she heads to the local Chinese place that Robert loves. She’s more than a little relieved to see that they are actually open.

“Hi Miss Jane.” Mrs Chen, the owner of the restaurant greets her. “I haven’t seen you in a few weeks, do you want your usual, to go?”

“Not quite. It’ll be the usual, and two extra meals.” Jane goes on to give the girls order to her.

“Give us about 20 minutes. If you don’t mind waiting here, I was hoping to get a chance to talk to you.” Mrs Chen asks.

“I’ll be here.” Jane says, sitting at a booth.

Mrs Chen heads to the back to give her daughter and husband the order, and then comes back out. “I was worried I wouldn’t get to see you again. That’s half of the reason we are still open.” she says, sitting down across from Jane.

“What can I do for you? You could have just called, you guys probably have our phone number from our previous orders.” Jane says.

“I would have if you hadn’t come in soon.” Mrs Chen says. “It’s about my granddaughter, Mei.

“I remember her, I don’t think I’ve seen her around in a few years though.” Jane says.

“She helps in the back, but she started getting the wrong kind of attention working the front counter.” Mrs Chen says. “Just like when her mother works the front.”

“I hate that. Probably for the best to keep her away from it though.” Jane responds.

“Yes, but I can’t protect her anymore. We keep expecting to get raided any day. I don’t want her being given to one of those type of people.” Mrs Chen says. “Have you and Robert been tested yet? I heard a rumor that some people are being allowed to claim women. If you two could take her, I would know she was safe.”

“I wish I had known.” Jane says. “If we could take her, you know we would. Robert would be happy to have her just for her cooking skills, and if she has turned out anything like her mother and grandmother, I’m sure she is gorgeous. But we already claimed two girls the day we got tested, one of them was in trouble, and we couldn’t say no when she asked, and she had a cousin at home who has no one else in the world, so we agreed to take her as well so that they weren’t separated.”

“I was afraid of that when you said 4 meals instead of two.” Mrs Chen said, looking defeated. “I only had a few customers I would have trusted her with, and the others say they didn’t get a claim.”

“Only a few dozen people in the county did, as far as I can tell.” Jane says. “Robert and I are green cards though, and we should get get priority when bidding, if I’m understanding correctly. If she is here today, I’d like to talk to her, and make sure she would get along well with everyone. If she is, we will bid on her, and do everything we can to get her.”

“Thank you Jane.” Mrs Chen responds.

“Does she know about this?” Jane asks.

“She does. You may not have spotted her, but she knows who you both are, it’s easier to see out of the kitchen than into it.” Mrs Chen says. “She is on board with the idea.”

“Do you want to bring her out here so we can talk?” Jane asks.

“I’d rather not take her anywhere someone who walks in can see her.” Mrs Chen says. “I’m not taking any chances with my only grandchild. Come back with me to the office, and then I’ll get her.”

Jane got up and followed Mrs Chen down the back hall to the little office behind the kitchen, taking the seat she offered while Mrs Chen went through the door that connected straight to the kitchen. A few moments later a grown up version of the girl Jane remembered came through the door. Slightly shorter than Jane, with a trim figure with some curves. Mei’s father was white, but had run off after one too many domestic violence incidents with Mei’s mother led to a warrant being issued for his arrest.

“Hello.” Mei says, holding out her hand to Jane.

“Hi Mei. You’ve really grown up.” Jane responds.

“Thank you.” Mei says. “Grandmother says you can’t claim me today, but you are willing to bid on me?”

“Yes, we already claimed two Hispanic girls, cousins who are 18 and 23. How old are you by the way?” Jane asks.

Mei takes a moment to think and says “I’m into computers, video games, I read a bit, but probably not anything you’ve heard of. I had just started school for business management, with a minor in IT. I can figure out most computer issues if you give me time and the internet. Grandma has been teaching me how to do the books here for a while, so I’m decent with budgets and finances.”

“That’s all great. “That’s a relief. He always seemed nice when I was younger, but you never really know.” Mei says. “I’m sure your food is ready by now, is there anything else I can say or do to help you feel more comfortable bidding on me? I know spending significant money on someone you barely know isn’t exactly comfortable for most people.”

“You’ve already convinced me. Do you mind if I take a photo of you for Robert? He gets a little weird about the process of bringing in new girls, and since he hasn’t seen you in years, I don’t want him picturing 12 year old you and getting weirded out.” Jane asks.

Jane and Mei exchange numbers, and Mei promises to text every day. Mei then walks back through the door and brings back Jane’s food. “Here you go, it’s on the house this time. Thank you so much, and I hope I will be with Robert and you soon.”

“We will do everything we can to make it happen. I doubt anyone in this little town is going to outbid us.” Jane says. “And thank you for the food.”

Twenty minutes or so later Jane makes it home. As she pulls in the garage she sees Lucia and Alexia already at the door leading into the house from the garage. As she gets out of the car, Alexia asks “Can we help carry anything in Mistress?”

“Are you asking because you want to help, or because you want to see what I got?” Jane asks.

“Both, but also because Master got up and was going to wait at the door, and we think that should be our job.” Lucia says.

“He has always been good about that.” Jane says, smiling. “I have a special surprise for him, but we are going to wait until tomorrow to tell him, since today is your day Lucia.”

“Is it something we should know about?” Alexia asks.

“Probably, but it’s nothing that can’t wait a day.” Jane responds, and then pops the trunk. “Please grab the bags, but don’t open them yet. I’ll bring in the Chinese food.”

As Jane walks in, Robert asks “How are the Chen’s holding up?”

“Concerned obviously, but I’ll tell you more about them tomorrow. It’s Lucia’s day, and we should focus on her.” Jane chides him.

“Absolutely.” Robert says. “You are right.”

The girls walked in a moment later with the bags from the car, and Robert could hear the garage door closing. “That’s everything?” he asks.

“Everything we saw in the trunk.” Alexia says.

“I thought with you being gone so long that there would be more.” Robert says.

“I got caught up talking to Mrs Chen.” Jane says. “I’ll tell you about it tomorrow. As for the stores, I really just wanted to be done and get back here, plus there is only so much I can do with clothes shopping without anyone trying on the clothes. Now, let me dig through bags, and I’ll let you know what goes where.”

Jane busies herself setting bags in various piles on the ground. “Ok, this pile goes to the kitchen, Lucia, do you mind unloading it real fast.”

Lucia gets the two bags, and quickly puts up the items.

As she does, Jane continues. “This pile is other miscellaneous stuff for you ladies, if you don’t mind grabbing it Alexia. The last pile are clothes, and Lucia and I can take those upstairs. We need to make sure everything fits ok, and then get them in the wash.”

The 3 women headed upstairs, and Robert again felt a little odd, realizing that it was the result of being the only guy in a house full of women.

“Ok, ladies, you ready to see what we’ve got?” Jane asks.

“Yes please Mistress, I can’t wait.” Lucia says excitedly.

I’m going to step over to my room if you two want to try on the lingerie first, and then at least one of each of the other items. No need to model them for me if you don’t want to, just let me know if they fit. If you aren’t sure, I can come take a look.”

“Mistress, can I try these on in your room with you?” Alexia asks, and Jane nods.

“I guessed you might ask. Off we go.” Jane says, and Alexia follows her out the door, arms full of clothing.

“It looks good on you. Robert is in for a great night.” Jane compliments Lucia. “We’ll give you the room to get changed back into your regular clothes, and then we can get all of this washing. Did anything not fit?”

“It all fits. Thank you for the things, I’m glad Robert isn’t going to see me for the first time in worn out panties.” Lucia says.

“It probably wouldn’t hurt.” Lucia says. “Do you two mind turning around until I get into as much of it as I can?”

Jane and Alexia turn around and look at each other, smiling a bit. About two minutes later Lucia says “I’m ready.”

Jane helps her again with the bra, making sure everything is sitting correctly.

Jane pauses for a moment, and steps forward towards Lucia. “Good luck. And take good care of our man.”

Robert was sitting on the couch when they got downstairs, desperately wishing he knew what exactly was going on up there. He knew this was just another way Jane could tease him, and assert a bit of control over the situation, which he didn’t begrudge her at all.
