Chapter 6
Still Exploring the Crypt
July 10
The group to rests for a moment and decides to head down the interesting stairs to the lower floor after a bit longer rest.
They rest and heal for 20 minutes, and at around 15:00 they decide instead to investigate the locked door on this floor. Kieron tries to pick the lock for 30 minutes and concludes that this lock cannot be opened with these lockpicks. She decides to try the tiny key in the large lock, and the key grows before our eyes and the lock opens.
In the room, there is a table, and on the table are 6 sacks. The sacks have texts:
church supplies
mage supplies
knightly supplies
sorcerous necessities
wilderness supplies
lightfoot supplies
We grab the sacks and peek at what’s in them.
Sorcerous: A dress.
Church: Holy symbol + 3 bottles of holy water
Wilderness: Compass, Grapnel, 20 meters of rope, delver webbing (suspenders and belt with a large number of compartments, max. 10kg of potions, knives, etc.)
Lightfoot: Quick-release backpack, 20 kg capacity, drop is free action.
Knightly: Quick-release backpack, 20 kg capacity, drop is free action.
Mage: Fearful stick.
Neiia tries on the dress and dances around the room and finally packs it in her backpack. For some reason, the dress is even exactly the right size. We go downstairs. In the first round room downstairs, there is a worn post in the center, covered with dust. Ra blows away the dust, and from under the dust, the following text is revealed:
“To the south you might take your ease, to rest and reflect on Kassen’s deeds.
To the east lies the wheel, to open the gate.
To the west is the resting place of Kassen, hero of the Fangwood.”
After a brief discussion, the group decides to go south. There is a small room behind a curve. At the opposite end of the room is a silver plate with an engraved portrait of a familiar person. Around the portrait are small holes from which water flows into a basin in the room. Neiia takes a sip and says she feels better. We take the rest of the sips too and notice the water healing our wounds. Ertak knows that this is a spring whose water heals, but it cannot be used very often. In addition, the water does not keep very long if taken along, unless one can seal the container completely airtight. In addition, the room has 2 stone beds with (still) fresh-looking sheets.
After a bit of discussion it is decided to continue west, where they find a catacomb. Neiia casts haste spells and gets some kind of magic burnout which burns energy from her and some zombies attack them.
