Chapter 3: Exploring the Crypt

July 5 continued

Entry+30 minutes:

The group heals everyone to full health and rests for a while before continuing their journey. They open the door from where the crying was heard. They enter a room with many pillars, and the room is quite maze-like.

They walk in, and suddenly Agnarr notices something strange in front of Kieron. He warns Kieron, who stops before going forward. Agnarr is about to come toward her but notices a trap in front of him too. He goes around the trap and examines the trap in front of Kieron. He notices that there is a trapdoor in the floor. Jaysek and Ertak go back out to get rope, crowbar, wedges, etc. from the horses. Agnarr hammers at the trapdoor until it opens. At the bottom of the trap there are spikes with pillows on top of them. He disarms another trap as well, and there are also pillows at the bottom of it, but no spikes. The group wonders why the pillows are there, but with no answers they continue onward.

Agnarr walks forward and finds the next trap. He tries to disarm it as well but falls headfirst down into the pit. Luckily some pillows have also been dropped to the bottom of this one. Jaysek and Ertak pull Agnarr up from the pit with a rope. The group continues onwards and gets to the next corridor, where Agnarr listens to and then follows the sound.

They come to a door, and the sound seems to be coming from behind it. Agnarr doesn’t want to move forward until he has been healed. Ertak heals Agnarr, but then Ertak falls unconscious for while, because the healing exhausts him.

Kieron listens at the door and determines that there is clearly a ghost behind the door. The group returns to the central room and rests there for an hour.

Entry +1 hour 30 minutes.

The group returns to the door they were at and they prepare for battle against the ghost. Kieron makes sure that he can easily access her ghost-strike oil. Neiia prepares an explosive fireball, and others cast some spells. Neiia can’t open the door, so Kieron comes and tries to open it, but she doesn’t succeed either. Agnarr examines the door and notices that it is locked, so he picks the lock.

The group tries again, but Neiia still can’t move the door. Kieron has the same problem. Agnarr gets the door to move slightly and after a couple of attempts gets the door open.

Neiia goes to the door and looks inside. She sees a humanoid in the room and throws a fireball at it while throwing herself into the arms of Agnarr who is behind her. After the explosion, Kieron rushes in and sees a short man about 20-25 years old with brown hair. The man appears to be on fire from the explosion.

Ertak doesn’t do anything, but Neiia steps forward and Agnarr tackles her to the ground. Ertak rushes forwards and falls into the same pile. Kieron in turn steps in making sure to stay away from the pile and observes the situation.

The man on fire falls down. Kieron moves to extinguish the man’s burning clothes. Ertak arrives to help. They manage to extinguish the man, but the man is already unconscious. Ertak heals the him, and after that Neiia moves him to the central room by levitating him. Jaysek and Kieron bring the horses here, and Ertak and Agnarr examine the room more carefully. They find an intact dagger and a burned crossbow. The group returns to the central room and camps there.

Agnarr tries to wedge the side doors shut but only manages to hammer the wedges into the doors.

An hour later, Ertak heals the man a bit more, and the man regains consciousness. The man starts complaining loudly, and several people try to calm him down without success. The man wails so much that he disturbs Ra and Neiia’s meditation, so they tie the man with ropes (because the man had tried to commit suicide by jumping from a height of one and a half meters to the floor) and put a gag in his mouth.

Because Neiia still can’t meditate after this, she tries to go to a side room and surprisingly finds that she can open the door without problems although Agnarr was supposed to wedge that door shut. Neiia goes to one of the trap pits and then descends to the bottom of it and starts meditating there.
