Chapter 27: About Thistletop

October 16

The group continues their journey and opens the door decorated with skeletons. A crypt opens behind it. There are six sarcophagi on the walls and some kind of altar in the middle of the room. There’s also some kind of altarpiece or similar on the wall.

When Kieron steps inside, ghosts emerge through the lids of three of the sarcophagi. One of them says, “Who disturbs our rest?” Two of the ghosts go after Ertak and Agnarr in the back row, and one attacks Kieron in the front row. The guys in the back row don’t dodge and take force damage. Kieron is clearly too small a target, as the ghost misses.

Kieron pulls out her ghost-striking oil and tries to apply it to her sword, but accidentally spills the oil on the ground. Kieron then decides that she can probably hit them without the oil anyway. The first strike hits, but the ghost dodges, the next one misses.

Ertak and Agnarr retreat backward until they fall unconscious after being repeatedly touched by the ghosts. Kieron gets one strike through and it makes a small hole in the ghost. Neiia shoots one ghost so that it disappears with a pop and damages the next one enough that the ghost dissipates. The last ghost returns to the crypt when the last group member (Neiia) steps out of the crypt.

Neiia moves Ertak and Agnarr farther away, and then Neiia shoots a fire bolt at the pile of gold coins. They notice that stone shards fly back after the hit, and the gold coins look completely intact. The group returns upstairs, after which Kieron and Neiia go to ask if Orik Vancaskerkin wants to leave with the group. Orik asks what happened to Nualia, and when the group tells him that she is dead, he says that then he can leave with them. The group first plans whether they should fly out through that hole or what to do. Orik suggests, shouldn’t we just walk out. The group says that well, if you believe we can get out without problems, then let’s go. The group reaches the bridge without problems, and Kieron goes ahead pushing Ertak. Just as Kieron is crossing the bridge, Neiia hears arguing from inside and a claim that I haven’t stolen them, and at the same time a honey jar flies out of the window.

The group crosses the bridge without problems. They also reach the road, and a familiar-looking elf is walking behind them. Ageiaa catches up with them and starts chatting with Neiia, but then she interrupts and says, “He’s in trouble again, I have to go now.”, without specifying who “He” is. After that, she opens a portal and steps through it. The group almost reaches Sandpoint before Ageiaa returns. Ageiaa wants to tell about the troubles that the archmage of the wizards’ guild, Sleymar Magyar, has gotten into again. Ageiaa tells her story. (This is the story: Ameiliee’s Stories:the Guildleader and the Dragonhoard). The group reaches Sandpoint in the evening. Ertak heals himself and Agnarr overnight.

October 17

Kieron tries to find a power healing spell for Ertak and Agnarr but doesn’t succeed. Neiia examines items and then sells some junk.

October 18

The group travels by ship to Magnimar during the day.

October 19 In the morning, the group visits a potion shop, but it’s closed because the Troll in the Corner’s Magical Emporium has bought it’s business. Next, the group goes to Olaf’s place to get treatment for Agnarr. The receptionist tries to throw Ertak and Agnarr out, but Kieron manages to talk him around. At this point, the receptionist even recognizes that he has seen Kieron sometime before. He fetches Olaf, and Olaf examines Agnarr and states that either go to those witch doctor quacks, or he can perform surgery, or the last option is just bed rest.
