Fiction Story: This is the story of how the gold coins came to be in a root cellar and guarded by five spirits. Sorry, no graphic sex in this one. As usual I had trouble with the codes.

Author’s Note---Before I begin this story, I believe I should give the readers a history lesson.
The Battle of Shiloh (or the battle of Pittsburg Landing as some call it) took place on the 6th and 7th of April 1862. It was one of the bloodiest battles of the Civil War (or ‘The War Between the States’ as some of us were taught to call it). More than 23,000 men lost their lives. Thousands more were injured.
On September 22,1862 President Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation freeing the slaves as of January 1, 1863.
Confederate General Robert E. Lee surrendered the Army of Virginia to Union General Ulysses S. Grant at Appomattox Virginia on April 9, 1865, effectively ending the ‘Civil War’.
President Lincoln was assassinated 5 days later, April 14 at Ford’s Theater in Washington, D. C. The war was officially declared over on May 10, 1865.
Lesson over, enjoy the story.
