Chapter 6: The Next Morning

Breakfast the next morning was interesting, to say the least. Beth and I had on matching robes which came down to our knees as her dad sat at the table eating his breakfast. The robes were a little overkill but I doubted even if he hadn’t been there that her mom would have felt comfortable with us all but naked in our nighties sitting at the table with her. Tony was nowhere to be found and I wondered why but only for a few minutes as eventually he showed up, wearing nothing but some old grey athletic shorts. He looked handsome as hell with his bare chest and lean legs exposed but his mom didn’t seem to share my opinion.

“Go put on a shirt before you sit down young man. What do you think this is, your college dorm?” his mom chastised him. Well, too bad for me; I was hoping he would take his shorts off too! He reappeared in less than a minute, this time sporting an oversized t-shirt. He looked like he was still about half asleep as he plopped down in his seat. As for Tony himself, he didn’t seem to have any idea at all of what had happened last night. In a way, I was disappointed. I guess deep down I had been hoping he was faking it the whole time and then this morning he would wink at me or otherwise indicate we had a little secret to share. Later, as we were dressing in her room, Beth seemed preoccupied with something so finally I offered her the proverbial penny for her thoughts. At first she seemed to shake it off but then it was like she suddenly changed her mind and she whirled around to point her finger at me accusingly.

“Let’s see now ... my brother left his door open last night - something he NEVER does, and he was sleeping naked in bed with the curtains open - something else he NEVER does.
