Chapter 5: Morning Alarm

Bright sunlight streaming into my bedroom was enough to wake me. But I was alone! Was my sex-filled night with Val just a dream?

“Calm down, Barry,” I thought. “It wasn’t a dream; you can feel the effects of all that sex in your body. What’s that I smell? Oh, Val must be cooking breakfast for us. Oh, there she is!”

“Good morning! Breakfast is ready. Just go pee and wash your hands, and then come eat. Afterwards, I want to have more sex, and then we can shower together. Don’t let your food get cold.”

I could detect some imperiousness in her tone, as if she were wearing a helmet with horns—like in her Valkyrie character’s picture. Nonetheless, I moved to obey.

Breakfast was delicious. I tried to have a serious conversation, but she put me off, saying sex and our showers come first. And so they did.

This morning, our lovemaking was gentle, even easygoing. Val showed a different side of herself, calmer and softer. She entranced me, both cuddly Val and imperious Val. I thought of the old cliché—”fasten your seat belts, it’s going to be a bumpy ride.”

In the shower, I luxuriated under Val’s touch. She washed all my skin with body wash, then washed my hair. When I turned and wanted to return the favor, she declined the shampoo, saying my stuff wasn’t girly enough for her. I made her promise to let me shampoo her the next time, as having my hands in her blonde hair was already a big fantasy in my brain.

We were going to have another warm day, so I joined her out on the loungers on the back patio to “air dry.”

“Now that we’ve eaten and showered, I think you and I should do some catching up. My story—you already know the high points. I’m a retired lawyer with lots of money who went to law school in Santa Clara. I think it’s fair to say, judging by your ancient Buick and shabby former apartment, that you aren’t a rich girl. No offense.”

“None taken. What I’ve told you, Barry, is all true, but I definitely skipped over a lot. I did have a good childhood with parents who didn’t wear a lot of clothes. I did want a career as an actress, to use the original word, and I got picked out and hired for that TV job when I was only twenty. I’ll be honest with you, at age 20 with my blonde hair and big tits, a casting office selected me pretty easily.”

“Judging how you look now, I’m sure they were anxious to hire you.”

“Aw, thanks. The only problem was that when that soap opera job ended, I was not expecting to have as much difficulty getting my next job. Also, I wasn’t willing to put out. Over time, the acting work was getting harder and harder to find, and it certainly wasn’t paying the bills. I did a lot of waitressing, some housecleaning, and whatever work I could get.

“I was under enormous stress, and like everybody, stress makes me eat. And eat. I just wasn’t thin enough anymore. I hooked up with Doug a few years ago. He had a decent job working with about twenty other plumbers, and for the first time in a while I had a comfortable life. But alcohol caught up with him, and he got fired for being drunk on the job.

“I was still keeping an eye out for jobs, and that’s when I found the voice-over work as Valkyrie. They make these cut scenes, they call them, where they animate the characters, and they need actors for the dialogue. For instance, yesterday, I traveled to Sunnyvale and collaborated with other actors in a studio to record some audio tracks.
