There were few things more infuriating than watching someone else eat your fries. If it was a woman you were dating, there really wasn’t anything you could do but suffer in silence. However, it wasn’t something your buddy should get away with; even if she was a female buddy.
I was sitting on the floor of Scarlett’s dorm room, relaxing in shorts and a t-shirt as I talked with my friends. Scarlett sat a few feet away from me, her legs crossed and her red hair in a ponytail. She was wearing leggings and a spaghetti-strap top. The two of us were having lunch with Tasha, who was dressed in her usual frumpy clothes, despite the California heat. As I watched, Tasha reached into my paper bag for the third time.
“Those are mine,” I protested.
Tasha looked at the two fries in her hand. Then at me. She ate them.
“You have your own!” I whined while Scarlett watched us with an amused smirk.
“Yours taste better,” Tasha shrugged.
Tasha reached for the bag again. Reaching out, I playfully shoved her hand away from the bag. She stared at me.
“You want to lose that hand?” Tasha asked.
“I’m not afraid of you,” I countered.
“You should be,” Tasha narrowed her eyes as she glared at me.
“I’m a foot taller than you,” I laughed.
“I can take you,” Tasha declared, raising her fists and playfully moving them as if preparing to box. “Put ‘em up, put ‘em up!”
I laughed. It was hard to believe she was the same Tasha Hoang I met at the start of the semester. She still dressed conservatively, but she was much more relaxed around us. I found I really liked the way she was able to joke with us now, laughing freely as we told stories and discussed our days.
“And I can bench press you.”
“Congratulations,” Tasha snorted.
Scarlett laughed. “Please do.”
I looked up at her. “What?”
“I want to see you bench press Tasha,” Scarlett waggled her eyebrows. “Keep flirting like this and you’ll end up doing some bedroom workouts together.”
“I, uh...” Tasha blushed crimson.
Scarlett had texted us in the morning asking if we wanted to grab lunch. We were able to find a time that worked for everyone, but instead of meeting at the Phoenix Nest, Scarlett had asked us to bring something back to her dorm. I hadn’t thought much of it since it had been a busy weekend.
We had an away game against San Jose State. I played in the second half, while Scarlett had been cheering the entire game. CSUA ended up winning thirty-four to twenty-four, giving us a record of seven wins, two losses. It felt pretty damn good, but I could tell Scarlett was completely exhausted.
“Don’t embarrass her,” I said before taking a bite of my burger.
“I’m not, I mean...” Tasha mumbled.
“Sorry, Tasha,” Scarlett replied. “Oh! You should have seen the game. Dan was amazing!”
“Of course he was,” Tasha smiled, looking relieved at the subject change. “Our Dan is much better than Kensington.”
“Drew set a pretty low bar,” Scarlett commented freely.
It wasn’t true; Drew was great. But, I appreciated the sentiment.
Both girls laughed again, but I noticed the mirth didn’t seem to reach Scarlett’s eyes. She’d been quiet since we had first arrived. Not silent; Scarlett Vaughn wasn’t the type to be completely quiet. I assumed she was tired. Scarlett had classes, cheerleading, and working at Velour Room. I knew she worked Sunday afternoon, which was odd for a nightclub.
Tasha reached for my fries again.
I moved the bag. “Seriously?”
“I’m hungry,” Tasha pouted.
“You have food!”
“I finished my fries,” she responded.
“That sounds like a you problem,” I gave her a look.
“Dan!” Tasha whined, reaching across the floor.
I held the bag over her head as she tried to grab for it. “You’re not getting these!”
“Give me one!” Tasha urged.
“You’ve had twelve,” I told her.
“You’ve been counting?” Tasha questioned. “Weirdo.”
Tasha got to her knees and lunged, but I really did have a full foot on her. She had no chance.
“Dan!” Tasha grumbled.
“Should I put a sock on the door for you two?” Scarlett smirked.
“No,” Tasha returned to her spot, her cheeks pink.
I looked away from Tasha, noticing that Scarlett had only taken a couple bites of her salad. “You don’t like it?”
“What?” Scarlett frowned.
“Your salad,” I explained, gesturing to the meal.
“Oh,” the redhead shrugged. “It’s fine.”
“You’ve barely eaten,” I observed.
“I’ve had some,” Scarlett reasoned.
“Not really,” I replied.
Her green eyes narrowed. “You monitoring my food now?”
“Nah, mainly just watching out for the little thief,” I answered.
“You left the bag between us,” Tasha smiled.
“That doesn’t make them communal fries!”
“Sure it does,” Tasha grinned widely.
Scarlett smiled again as she pushed at her salad with her fork. Something was off. I wasn’t great at noticing that kind of thing, not like Tasha. Tasha could walk into a room and know everything about everyone. She noticed expressions, tone, body language. Sociology was definitely the right major for Tasha, even if she was shy in a lot of social situations.
“Are you okay?” Tasha asked Scarlett.
Scarlett stood, crossing the small dorm room until she reached the door. Locking the door, Scarlett returned to her spot on the floor. Tasha and I waited patiently, watching as Scarlett gathered her courage. Something was up, and we were finally about to find out what. What that horrible gang was doing. I could see it in Scarlett’s expression that she was ready to confess.
“I didn’t really invite you guys over for lunch,” Scarlett said slowly.
“Something you want to talk about?” I asked.
Tasha leaned forward. “You can tell us.”
Scarlett looked at the other woman. “I know.”
“Whatever it is,” I added.
“I know,” Scarlett nodded. “I know.”
We continued to wait, both of us willing to give Scarlett all the time she needed.
“I should probably tell you guys everything.”
“We’re listening,” I said while Tasha nodded.
“I’ve been cheerleading since middle school,” Scarlett began slowly.
“That’s not surprising, considering how good you are,” Tasha smiled kindly.
“Thank you,” Scarlett whispered. “Anyway, I was on the reserve squad as a freshman. Freshman never make the main squad. Well, almost never.”
“Just like the football team,” I nodded in understanding.
“I still went to games, but some of the excitement was missing when I didn’t get to cheer,” the redhead continued. “Then I met J.B.”
“That name’s familiar,” I frowned.
“Jacob Barlow,” Tasha said darkly. “He committed those murders before the start of the semester. He was in The Crocs.”
“What happened?” I asked quietly.
“We met at a party after a game,” Scarlett said. “We got high and I ended up in bed with him. Long story short, he convinced me the games were more exciting if you had money riding on them.”
“So you started betting on football games?” Tasha questioned.
“Yeah,” Scarlett nodded. “The first time I won, it was such a rush. I kept betting more and more, until one time I lost and couldn’t cover it.”
“What happened then?” Tasha probed gently.
“J.B. said he’d cover it if I spent the night with him,” Scarlett bit her lower lip and looked away shamefully. “I agreed.”
Scarlett fell silent for a few moments, so we gave her time to prepare herself.
“I didn’t think it was a big deal since I’d done him before,” Scarlett shrugged. “So, I kept betting. One time I lost big and he told me he couldn’t cover it.”
“Okay...” I trailed off while Tasha looked on with wide eyes.
“J.B. made me do some guy,” Scarlett winced. “He was huge. Over six feet tall. I couldn’t walk straight for a week.”
Scarlett sighed. “Anyway, I ended up too deep in debt so J.B. got me on the list at Velour Room. They have a lot of private rooms. Some rich guy paid him for an hour with me.”
“Oh, my God,” Tasha gasped.
“Things just got worse and worse,” Scarlett said, tears forming in her eyes. “Velour Room had an opening, so I took it. That made it easier. J.B. just kept arranging clients there and I started paying off my debt with my holes.”
“I’m so sorry,” I said quietly.
“J.B. got himself killed, but that didn’t erase my debt,” Scarlett continued. “The cops were sniffing around, that got my brother beaten up. I was so alone.”
“Then what?” Tasha wondered.
“Yeah, why are you telling us this now?”
“Because I’m free,” Scarlett smiled through her tears. “They said I was more trouble than I was worth. Not long after, the owner of Velour Room talked to me and I ended up giving my two weeks. Yesterday was my last day.”
“So everything worked out?” I asked incredulously.
“I guess,” Scarlett shrugged. “Yesterday was rough. It was just supposed to be a quick last shift, but the owner wasn’t there. The Crocs arranged, um, a few clients. They were rough.”
“You should go to the police,” Tasha urged.
“No!” Scarlett hissed, shaking her head. “The only reason I’m still alive is that I didn’t tell them. I’m out, I’m free. I’m just going to be happy with that.”
“But...” Tasha began.
“No, Tasha,” the redhead stated firmly. “Trust me. I’m very lucky. I don’t know what happened, but my debt is gone and I’m free of them. That’s what matters.”
Tasha looked like she wanted to protest, but instead she swallowed weakly and nodded. “What can we do to help?”
“You can be my friends,” Scarlett smiled. “I just want to move on with my life.”
“We can do that,” I promised.
“Thank you,” Scarlett sighed in relief.
The conversation restarted slowly, awkwardly. Tasha and I weren’t sure what to say. Scarlett lightened the mood by teasing us about how we supposedly flirted before taking a bite of her salad. Soon the three of us were laughing like good friends again. I wished I had been able to help Scarlett, but I was relieved she was free of that horrible gang.
Scarlett had talked to Tasha and me in confidence, and I would never betray that. However, I did have some concerns to talk about with my contact. Things were heating up where the gang was concerned, and while I was her informant, she often had information for me as well. I sent a text as soon as I left Scarlett’s dorm and headed to my next class.
Dan: We need to meet.
Marcia: Okay.

Monday October 27, 2025
It had been a stressful day. Work was brutal, Hazel was hormonal, and the final pretrial hearing had happened earlier. Kayla and I were still having trouble with our relationship, though she’d cuddled with me a bit when I got home. I was tired and determined to have a relaxing evening.
Despite the late hour, I wasn’t ready to go to bed. I had led Lexi up to the third floor sitting area so we could look out over the property. She had taken her notebook to show me the poem she wrote about her upcoming cross examination. We had talked, with Lexi eventually moving to sit in my lap.
Alexis Davis wasn’t known as “Hurricane Lexi” without reason. Our romantic moment quickly led to kissing, ultimately resulting in both of us tearing at each other’s clothes. The sexy redhead rubbed her bare boobs against me as she slid down and got on her knees between my legs. I was then reminded how stress-relieving a relaxing blowjob could be.
“Mmmslurp, sluuurp, hssslrp,” Lexi sucked on me almost lazily, her head rising and falling in my lap as her hands rested on my thighs. “Sluuurp, schloop, schlrp, sluuurp.”
“Mm,” I sighed happily, leaning my head back as I enjoyed the warm mouth surrounding my hard dick.
Gathering up Lexi’s red hair in one hand, I held the sweet-smelling locks out of her face as she blew me. Opening my eyes, I glanced down at her tight, beautiful body. The soft skin of her back was pale and blemish free, and the swirling patterns of freckles entranced me for several moments. I looked down further, to the way her cute, little bottom was resting on her heels. Lexi was exquisite.
“Gonna cum, Lex,” I warned urgently a few minutes later. “Get ready for it.”
Lexi maintained the same steady pace, her head bobbing as the sounds of her sucking and slurping filled the room. Holding her head down, I bucked my hips and groaned. My semen flooded Lexi’s mouth, making her moan softly. I felt her throat contract as she swallowed, heightening my pleasure and pulling every drop of cum from my balls. All of which she gulped down eagerly.
“Mm,” she sighed happily as she looked up at me, green eyes sparkling and a drop of white on her lower lip. “Your cum is yummy.” Lexi cooed, her tongue snaking out to get the last of it.
“It’s all yours,” I told her as I released her hair and cupped her cheek.
“Don’t you forget it,” she giggled, hopping to her feet and sitting her naked ass in my lap. “You’re just lucky I’m good at sharing.”
I wrapped my right arm around her nude frame as my left hand rested on her thigh. “Very lucky.”
Lexi laid her head against me. “I love you.”
“I love you, too,” I whispered, my thumb caressing the soft skin of her inner thigh.
“Even though I’m a brat?”
“Especially because you’re a brat,” I assured her, kissing her cheek.
Lexi tilted her head as she looked at me. “Steven, do you think we’ll grow apart?”
“No, why?” I replied. “Do you think we will?”
“I don’t want us to, but then I remember I’m nineteen and you’re forty-one,” the redhead winced.
“Well, I can promise I won’t change,” I told her sincerely. “Like you said, I’m forty-one. I’m an old guy set in my ways. You, on the other hand, well, you have a lot to learn about yourself still.”
“Nah, I know I’m a slutty redhead who never slows down,” Lexi giggled. “I still want all the Sluts living here.”
“You know that’s not actually gonna happen, right?” I gave her a look. “Ashley is too independent, Marcia wants a more traditional life, and what’s your plan for Kayla?”
“Shut up, let me dream,” Lexi poked me on the nose before nuzzling her face against mine.
“As long as you know what’s realistic,” I responded.
“Is us having kids realistic?” the redhead wondered. “I-I want kids. I know you love Kayla, and that you’ll love your daughter with Hazel. But, I also know you want a son. I can give you one.”
“I think we’d make beautiful babies together,” I told her sincerely. “Red hair and crazy.”
“Mm, and hopefully soon,” Lexi hummed. “I mean, um, I know we aren’t even engaged or anything, but you are a lot older than I am.”
“I understand,” I nodded. “I don’t wanna be chasing a toddler around at sixty. Maybe in a couple years?”
The redhead smiled. “Yes.”
“But, um, you can’t exactly guarantee a boy,” I reminded her. “I don’t care if we have all girls; I’ll love them all the same.”
“If it’s not a girl, I’ll put her back in and we’ll try again,” Lexi shrugged.
“Sure, that’s how it works,” I chuckled, knowing she was joking. “Seriously, I love my daughter. You know how I feel about Kayla.”
“I know,” she agreed. “Do you think you two will have sex again?”
“I don’t know,” I let out a long breath. “I really don’t know.”
Lexi looked at me nervously. “I pushed you two together. I feel like I ruined your relationship.”
“You didn’t ruin anything, Kayla and I just got a bit too attached,” I explained. “I have to put her well-being first.”
“Maybe it’ll be easier once the trial’s over,” Lexi commented. “Both of them.”
It really was more like two trials. Seven guys were being charged with the events of that party where Stephanie and Kelsey were assaulted. David had a few extra charges, then there was the trial for the kidnapping itself. It was a legal mess, and I knew it was a huge weight on both Kayla’s and Lexi’s shoulders.
“I hope so,” I said. “I know the last hearing was today. Sarah invited Kayla out on Wednesday.”
“Yeah, they’re going to the driving range,” Lexi laughed. “So much less interesting than shooting guns.”
“It’ll probably be easier for them to talk,” I reasoned with a shrug.
“Probably,” Lexi replied before she started kissing along my neck. “You know, if things go well for me this week, you’ll be dating a sorority girl.”
“They’d be crazy not to accept your bid,” I stated firmly as my hand cupped her bare breast. “I’m just surprised they’re even doing pledge week this semester.”
“Murders are only enough to postpone pledge week; nothing can stop it,” she laughed before lightly sucking on my neck. “Mm, you know what?”
“What?”
She ground her butt down against my half-hard dick. “I’m still horny.”
I slid my hand between her legs and grabbed her pussy. “I can tell. You’re soaked.”
“Mm, all for you, baby,” Lexi moaned as I slid two fingers into her. “All for you.”
“Good,” I hissed as I fingered her. “I love this pussy.”
“And, ah, I, ah, I knew you were special, ah, when you, mm, fuck!” Lexi groaned as she writhed in my lap. “You ate me out, oh God! Please! Please do it again. Lick my cunt!”
That sounded like fun to me, so I picked up my petite girlfriend and placed her butt on the edge of the table beneath the window. Gripping the edge of the table for balance, Lexi spread her legs for me, showing me her most intimate area. I dropped to my knees and leaned in to place a kiss on her vulva.
“Beautiful,” I whispered when I pulled back to admire her pretty pink pussy.
“Less talking, more licking,” Lexi urged.
“Yes, ma’am,” I chuckled.
Lexi gasped when I pressed my lips to her womanhood and speared my tongue between her labia. She was soon moaning passionately as I ate her out with enthusiasm. Her hips bucked as she held onto the table with both hands. I reached up to roll a nipple between my fingers while sucking on her clit.
“Fuck! Cumming!” Lexi announced as she tensed up and let out a series of gasping grunts. “Oh God, I need you in me. Fuck me! Fuck me now!”
I stood up as Lexi got to her feet and spun around. She gripped the sides of the table as she stuck her butt out and offered herself for me. Taking hold of her hips, I guided myself to her entrance and thrust inside. Looking straight forward and out the window, Lexi grunted as she felt me stretch her vaginal walls.
“Fuck, you’re gorgeous,” I grunted.
“Fuck, you’re big!” she moaned, throwing her head back. “Fuck me! Fuck me like a dirty slut!”
With one hand at her waist, I placed my other hand on her shoulder and proceeded to fuck her exactly the way she wanted. Lexi was yelling obscenities as she pushed her ass back against me, taking me all the way in each time I slammed my hips into her. It was rough and dirty sex; just how Lexi liked it.
“Take my cock, babe!” I ordered, slamming myself into her again and again.
“Fuck me, fuck my pussy!” Lexi begged wantonly. “It’s your pussy, baby! It’s your pussy, it’s your pussy, it’s your pussy!”
Grabbing Lexi by the hair, I roughly pulled her back so I could put my lips by her ear. “I’m gonna fuck you all night. Tomorrow morning you won’t be able to walk straight.”
“Oh God, yes!” she hissed. “Fuck my pussy, my mouth, my ass! FUCK ME!”
Pushing her forward, I forced her chest and head onto the table as I roughly drilled her from behind. Keeping one hand on her back, I pounded her relentlessly as she screamed out and came hard. Came hard three times, in fact. Then I slapped her ass before pulling out and rubbing her clit with my tip. Finally, I thrust back inside and fucked her until I was ready to cum.
With a grip on her red hair, I manhandled Lexi to her knees and shoved my wet dick in her mouth. I came hard, ordering her not to swallow. She complied, showing me my own cum in her mouth when I was done. At my instruction, she tilted her head back and swallowed everything I gave her.
Lexi squealed when I grabbed her around the middle and carried her back to our bedroom. That was only round two. I wasn’t anywhere done with my redhead just yet. I was determined to honor my promise; making sure we both forgot all our troubles as we enjoyed each other’s bodies.

Tuesday October 28, 2025
Professor Rao was still talking when students started packing up. I hated when people did that. There were still two minutes left. I knew because of the clock on the wall. The professor still had plenty of time to provide important information. I wouldn’t stop taking notes until the class was officially over.
“Remember,” Professor Rao said, raising her voice over the sounds of zipping backpacks, “your responses are due Thursday. I’m not looking for a summary of the reading; I already read it. Apply it. Critique it. Tell me where the argument works and where it doesn’t. Think!”
One minute. The guy two seats ahead of me was already wearing his backpack. I glared at him.
Beside me, Lina leaned closer. “You’re doing it again.”
“Doing what?” I asked quietly.
“Judging people.”
“I don’t judge people,” I hissed back. “I’m very open-minded.”
“About sex, not about study habits,” Lina giggled. “You’re staring at Tyler like he kicked a puppy.”
“He’s packing and class isn’t over,” I rolled my eyes.
“And now it’s over,” Lina grinned. “You’ll be running the honor society in a month.”
“We just got in,” I scoffed.
“I’ll see you all on Thursday,” Professor Rao said, surrendering to the clock.
Lina immediately shoved her notebook into her backpack while I carefully put mine away. I then stood and smoothed out my skirt. It was a hot day, which I had dressed for. My outfit was a cute light blue cotton skirt with white trim. I also had on a white spaghetti-strap top that left an inch of my stomach exposed.
I walked with Lina as we followed the rest of the class out into the hallway. Introduction to Sociology wasn’t difficult, and I was enjoying it more than I thought I would. Lina liked reminding me of that fact. She’d declared her major fascinating and I’d made the mistake of telling her I found it interesting.
“You doing the response paper tonight?” Lina asked.
“Probably.”
“It’s not due until Thursday, you could wait until tomorrow,” she said.
“I could,” I agreed.
“But you won’t,” Lina smirked.
“No.”
“You make me feel like a slacker,” Lina commented. “No one has ever done that before.”
“Please, your grade is higher than mine,” I scoffed.
“By a point,” she responded.
“Two.”
“You know your exact grade?” Lina looked at me as we walked down the hall.
I just smiled.
As we walked down the stairs, we both got a text at the same time. It was from Sophia Patel, the president of Sigma Epsilon Phi. She was reminding everyone of a meeting for full members only. Lina and I were both happy that meant us; we had been accepted to the exclusive society.
Students filled the walkways between the campus buildings. A lot more than usual. Tables filled the quad and banners hung from railings. Groups of girls in matching shirts stood beneath displays covered in Greek letters. Another section of the quad had groups of guys who were cheering for their fraternities.
Rush week.
It should have happened at the beginning of the semester. Then there were murders before classes even started. CSUA had decided large social events weren’t a particularly good idea at the time. However, Greek life would not be denied. The restrictions hadn’t lasted long and the organizations were recruiting and coordinating. It was finally time for bids to be accepted. Or rejected.
We started across the quad, our gazes darting around as we looked at all of the over-the-top stations. Every fraternity and sorority did something different to try and stand out. One of the sororities had acquired an enormous arch made entirely out of pink and white balloons.
“How long do you think that took to make?” I asked, pointing it out.
“Too long,” Lina replied. “What do you think they do with it after?”
“Uh, pop them?”
“That sounds less fun than popping bubble wrap,” she commented.
A girl wearing a purple shirt smiled brightly as we passed. “Hi! Are you girls registered?”
“No, thank you,” I replied as Lina shook her head.
The girl immediately redirected her attention toward a couple of other students.
“Did you ever think about a sorority?” Lina asked me.
“Nah, not for me,” I shook my head. “I’m busy enough with homework and the honor society. You?”
“Same,” she replied. “Do you think your friends will get in?”
“Ashley and Lexi? I don’t see why not,” I responded. “They’re both outgoing and confident. Perfect sorority girls.”
“Don’t take this the wrong way, but I’m surprised you’re friends with them,” Lina commented. “You’re so different.”
“In some ways,” I agreed. “But we would do anything for each other. And I might be quiet, but I’m sexually open too. For the most part.”
“Right,” Lina smirked. “You’re ditching me for a hot football player.”
“Dan’s just a friend,” I insisted. “There’s nothing going on there.”
“Hm, sure,” she gave me a look as we passed a few more students.
“There isn’t!” I laughed. “Really. I was sort of involved with Kwan, but we decided to just be friends.”
“Shawn?”
“Just friends with him, too,” I said.
“For such a sexually open person, seems like it’s been a while since you’ve gotten any,” Lina observed.
“Maybe,” I shrugged. “Or maybe I’m just more interested in the ladies.”
“Well, I’m a dingaling girl, so you’re not getting any from me,” Lina smiled.
“On that note, I have to meet Dan,” I rolled my eyes.
“Bye, Marcia,” Lina waved, a self-satisfied smirk on her face.
I made it to Briarwood Hall a few minutes after three. Then I texted Dan and let him know I was on my way. Dan’s dorm room was on the eleventh floor, so I took the elevator up. Oakwood Commons was definitely a nicer dormitory and I was glad I was in that one instead.
I knocked on the door.
“It’s open!” Dan called out.
“Hey,” I said after opening the door and stepping inside. “Where’s your roommate?”
“Kevin’s with a girl he just met,” Dan answered as he stood from his desk chair. “They really hit it off.”
“Any chance he’ll bring her back here and kick us out?” I asked, giving Dan a quick hug.
“I told him he’s on his own if he wants a place to hook up,” Dan laughed, hugging me back. “How was class?”
“Fine, you?” I responded, placing my purse and backpack on his desk.
“No complaints,” he shrugged, smirking at me. “You know, if you wanna make sure we’re not interrupted, I’d be happy to place a sock on the door.”
I sat on the edge of his bed and crossed my bare legs. “Not even in your dreams.”
Dan’s bed was made, although I suspected that was something he only did when someone was coming over. The junk usually on the floor was likely swept under the bed. Football gear occupied one corner, and a couple of textbooks were stacked on his desk next to his laptop. There were several things in the trash, and there was no way he could convince me he didn’t put them there while I was in the elevator.
“Probably for the best,” Dan said as he opened a mini fridge. “My dreams are pretty disturbing.”
I accepted the sports drink he offered me. “I believe that.”
Dan sat on the same side of the bed as me, a few feet away as he took a quick sip of his drink. “You learned from watching the mistakes the others made.”
“I don’t think they consider you a mistake,” I told him kindly. “Uh, well, Kayla was in a bad place, but that wasn’t your fault.” I pointed a finger at him. “Oh! Hazel said she loved leaving you with blue balls after getting you to go down on her.”
“Hazel does have a sadistic streak,” Dan scoffed.
“She does,” I readily agreed. “Anyway, I’m curious why you wanted to meet. Something up with Kensington?”
“Drew’s the same as always,” he answered slowly, a frown slowly appearing on his face. “You’re looking at me like Tasha.”
“And how does she look at you?”
“Like she’s waiting for me to spill all my secrets,” Dan replied. “But, it doesn’t matter because she can read my mind anyway.”
“Well, I can’t read your mind,” I giggled. “Although, I can tell what you’re thinking. That’s only because you’re looking at my cleavage.”
“Uh, I’m not...” he cleared his throat and looked away.
“Right,” I smiled innocently as I brushed my hair back behind my ears. “So, what’s up?”
Dan’s expression changed as he looked down at his drink. “A friend told me something yesterday. Something bad.”
“How bad?”
“Pretty fucking bad,” he looked up at me.
“Are they okay?”
Dan was quiet for a few moments. “I think so.”
“Do you want to talk about it?” I offered.
“I can’t,” he winced.
