As Alex hung up the phone, he turned to look at Nate, a smirk playing on his lips. “Congratulations, pet. You’ve just been sold for half a million dollars. You should be proud.”
Nate looked up at Alex, his eyes wide with disbelief and horror. Half a million dollars. That’s what his life, his body, his heart were worth to Alex. He felt a wave of devastation wash over him, his body shaking with sobs, his heart aching with regret and betrayal.
How could I have been so stupid? he thought, his mind racing with memories of the past, of the choices he had made, the trust he had placed in Alex. How could I have trusted him with my heart, with my life? How could I have been so wrong about him?
He looked up at Alex, his eyes filled with tears and accusations. “How can you do this to me?” he whispered, his voice hoarse with pain. “I trusted you. I loved you. I gave you everything. How can you betray me like this?”
Alex sneered, his eyes cold and unyielding. “Betray you? Pet, you were always just a means to an end. A plaything, a possession. You were never anything more to me than that. And now, you’re a very profitable means to an end.”
The day of the transaction arrived, and Alex prepared Nate for delivery. He bathed him, groomed him, fed him a final meal of premium dog chow. He fitted Nate with a collar and leash, his eyes cold and clinical as he inspected his pet, his property.
A private jet was chartered, the sheikh sparing no expense in transporting his new acquisition. Alex led Nate to the airport, his head held high, his stride confident and sure. Nate followed, his body trembling with fear and devastation, his heart aching with each step.
As they approached the plane, Alex turned to Nate, his eyes cold and dismissive. “This is where we part ways, pet. You’ve served your purpose, and now you’re someone else’s problem.”
With that, Alex handed the leash to one of the sheikh’s handlers, his eyes never once looking back at Nate, his mind already focused on the future, on the life he was about to build.
Nate watched as Alex walked away, his heart shattering into a million pieces. He was led onto the plane, the handler’s grip firm and unyielding, his future uncertain and terrifying. As the plane took off, Nate looked out the window, his eyes filled with tears, his heart aching with regret and despair.
Meanwhile, Alex wasted no time in putting his newfound wealth to use. He purchased a lavish mansion, complete with a pool, a tennis court, and a six-car garage. He filled the garage with luxury cars, his eyes gleaming with greed and desire as he admired his new toys.
He proposed to the girl from the networking event, sweeping her off her feet with his charm, his wealth, his promises of a life of luxury and indulgence. She said yes, her eyes shining with happiness and excitement, her heart filled with love and devotion.
Alex reveled in his new life, his heart swelling with pride and satisfaction as he surveyed his domain, his empire. He had everything he had ever wanted, everything he felt entitled to. And he had gotten it all on the back of his pet, his possession, his betrayal of Nate.
As he stood there, his arm around his fiancée, his eyes gleaming with greed and ambition, he didn’t spare a single thought for Nate, for the man who had given him everything, for the pet he had discarded and sold like a used toy. He was living his dream, his fantasy, his entitled life. And that was all that mattered.
