Chapter 1: A Bit of Family History

My Aunt Linda is my mother’s younger sister by two years. She and her only child (my cousin Kristen) live nearby and as a result they practically lived at our house through most of my childhood. Aunt Linda was divorced when her stupid jerk of a husband demanded she choose between him and her family. It was really unfair of him to put her in that terrible position. After all, it’s not like she hid anything from him. In fact, she’d told him all about her relationship with my mom and dad long before they were married and if anything he claimed to be excited about being allowed to be with her sister (my mom) once they were hitched. Alas, some men’s egos are just too big and his jealousy finally overwhelmed him to the point he demanded my aunt stop having sex with her brother-in-law. Like really, what choice did that leave my aunt BUT to divorce his sorry ass?

My cousin Kristen was only a couple of years old at the time and has no memories of her real father so in many ways my dad is the only “father” she’s ever known. Growing up I’d no idea that my dad was doing my aunt although looking back I probably should’ve figured it out. In my own defense though, why would I have even suspected they were doing it? My aunt is a realtor and dresses pretty sharp (some would say slutty but that’s their opinion). Although we would never qualify as nudists, it’s not like nudity was something we hid either, especially in places where it made sense like when in the hot tub or tanning out on the deck. So seeing my aunt running around the house in little or no clothing was just what she did, not something to cause me to think anything else. It wasn’t until I started having sex with my parents that my mom finally sat me down and informed me about the true relationships they’d shared since they were barely teenagers.
