Olga stepped into the pompous mansion, feeling drained to the bone. The visit to the old Davenport witch had been extremely taxing. The idea of ironing out the few little escapades had gone completely wrong. Right at the moment the girls glided into the cottage she knew her skillfully crafted plan had become utterly useless.

Winnie’s massive power and Betty’s serene signature had taken her completely off guard. It had actually shocked her to the core that Winnie managed to awaken Betty’s Supernatural genes without any witchcraft training. It was clear the future supernatural generation was not to be messed with.

Winnie’s natural raw power was refreshing, especially when Olga initiated the ceremony. The ease of building the necessary bridge to the Balance was child’s play and within no time she could release Winnie’s link that had merged with Betty’s aura. It all went smoothly, however, it was quite disturbing to see how devastated Betty was after she was disconnected from the Balance. The poor girl collapsed into an inconsolable heap onto the floor. Her harrowing wails were still echoing in her memory.

She sighed deeply when she entered her study, and she longed for a glass of wine to numb her mind of the disturbing events. She was too tired to use any magic to will a glass of her favorite wine and cursed softly while she walked towards the cabinet.

The light reflected off the crystal wine carafe and as she poured herself a glass, she heard heavy footsteps approaching her.

“Charles,” she said after she had taken a sip of her wine.

“Mother,” he replied curtly.

She shuddered when she saw his contorted face, and she realized he was in a bad mood. She knew she’d been a little too harsh with his wife, but it was her deranged attitude what had goaded her to be so blunt.

“Alright son,” she sighed while she looked him straight in the eyes, “spill it.”

She had been there before where her beloved son spouted his displeasure. “How dare you to take away his power? He is an Aspen Wizard!”

“And he still is,” she responded softly.

He snorted. “He’s like a car without an engine.”

She rolled her eyes. Men and their retarded analogy with cars! “No, he’s like a car without gas. It’s more like joy riding without checking whether he’d enough in his tank.”

Charles huffed while he theatrically crossed his arms.

Olga said, “Winnie Davenport will be the next in line for the American representative. She can crush us like annoying bugs, and I beg you to use extreme caution in interfering with her.”

“Nonsense,” he spat.

Olga shook her head firmly as she replied, “Franklin is lucky he’s still alive.”

“You just don’t get it, mother,” Charles said calmly as he walked towards the cupboard. “Franklin will have a major say in what is going to happen at the next annual meeting.”

She laughed. “Money was never an issue for the Davenports, they don’t display their wealth as you do and believe me, she will shine.”

He huffed while he poured himself a glass of wine. “I want you to give his power back immediately, now that the curse has been lifted.”

“The curse hasn’t been lifted,” she retorted as she took the carafe out of his hands.

“That is unacceptable!” He shouted, “I told you to get that fixed as soon as possible!”

She chuckled and as she refilled her glass she said calmly, “Perhaps you should contact the society and make a complaint. I’m pretty sure you and Franklin will be fined severely. Abusing a mundane girl in broad daylight is a severe infringement of the law, let alone erasing it from the victim’s memory.”

“Franklin would never do such a stupid thing,” Charles growled.

“There are two witnesses and don’t forget the accused will be forced to tell the truth,” Olga said bitterly. “Being blessed with magical power can end up being a curse literally, if you don’t know how to deal with it.”

“I don’t care. Give him his power back.”

“You don’t get it, do you? I managed to keep the Davenports from reporting the incident to the society.”

“Still, I don’t like it that Franklin is cursed by that girl.”

“Winnie Davenport caught your son strangling Betty Harris! Franklin could have died yesterday, Charles! She is even more powerful than her great grandmother.”

Charles stared at her for a short while before he replied, “Well he didn’t die, and I don’t see any reason you revoked his power. He is an Aspen wizard and therefore he should have his power.”

“No.”

He raised his eyebrows and said, “You seemed to forget your little mishap. I’m afraid you leave me no choice to report you to the society.”

“You may do that,” Olga responded remarkably calm. “But it will be the end of the Aspen’s as a respected wizard family because I will bring you and your son down as well.”

Charles huffed.

Olga shook her head. “Why Charles? What on Earth has gotten into your head? We are nothing more than a group of humans who live with other fellow humans, trying to make the best of it.”

He laughed. “For centuries the Aspens have ruled this area, and my son will rule it again. I personally will see to it that nobody stops that from happening.”

“Good,” Olga sighed as she walked away. “Start educating your son. Right now, he really sucks at it.”

“Give him his power back, mother,” he spat.

She turned to look her son straight in the eyes and said, “As soon as he proves to be a good leader, I will.”

Betty sipped the mug of hot tea she had gotten from Winnie. The tea was super sweet and tasted really strange, but it made her feel better. She shuddered when she recalled the horrid ceremony Mrs. Aspen and Winnie performed.

In the beginning, there was a strange tingling feeling in her stomach but soon enough it changed into an uncomfortable sensation as if her body was about to be torn apart. It became agonizing when suddenly something was pulled away from her. Never did she feel so empty, as if her life had lost its purpose.

But luckily, the awful feeling vanished and she felt close to normal again, even though it was clear she had lost something. Now, there was an indescribable feeling left in her body; it felt like a nagging hunger for something, but she had no idea what.

“Hey,” Winnie said while she sat next to her, “how are you feeling?”

Betty thought it was strange to sit on the floor in Nana’s cottage, knowing the old lady was sitting just above her. “I don’t know,” she replied subdued, “It feels like I’m missing parts of my body.”

“That will subside over time,” Nana said soothingly while she gently patted Betty’s hair.

“Am I back to normal?” Betty asked with a small voice.

“The shared link to the Balance has been disconnected,” Nana replied. “It means you can’t use any metaphysical power, so you could say you’re not a witch at the moment.”

“At the moment?” Winnie asked.

“I’ll explain it later, pumpkin,” Nana responded with a yawn, “Now, there’s only one thing left for you and Betty to do.”

“Oh?” Winnie asked.

“Yeah,” Betty murmured, “my boobs are still the same size.”

Winnie looked at her best friend’s chest that had stopped glowing, realizing they still were as big as her boobs. “Oh,” she said softly while she looked at her great grandmother for guidance.

Nana’s eyes shined with mischief when she cooed, “What has gone in, has to come out.”

Winnie rolled her eyes. “Yes, obviously. And how are we going to do that?”

Nana chuckled softly while she shook her head. “Tell me darling, how did you accommodate Betty in the first place?”

Betty started to giggle nervously as Winnie suddenly realized that her great grandmother knew exactly what had happened between Betty and her. “I, I,” she uttered meekly. “There’s no other way?”

“There is,” Nana affirmed, “but I think Betty has suffered enough and we need at least three more witches.”

“Erm, Winnie,” Betty spoke up, “I don’t think I want others to be involved.”

“Right,” her BFF responded subdued.

“Indeed,” Nana said upbeat. “I need to rest for a while, and I believe your mother is out to meet a friend.”

Winnie sat on her bed looking a little uncomfortable at Betty who was slowly unbuttoning her blouse. She stopped and said with a pout, “What, don’t you like me anymore?”

“I do,” Winnie instantly replied demurely, “but I don’t know what to do.”

Betty moved closer and as she nuzzled her, she cooed, “Just go with the flow. I’m pretty sure it will happen as it supposed to happen.”

“I guess so,” the blonde witch sighed.

Betty pressed her lips on her BFF’s mouth and as soon as their tongues met, they both moaned softly. The passion fired up and Winnie felt the soothing warmth in her groin getting stronger by the minute.
