Chapter 8

Cherry did not respond to the soaking she had just been the recipient of when Jane flung a glass of cold water at her. Instead, she went to the kitchen store and brought out a bottle of water at room temperature as Jane had said she wanted. Then she walked back to the table and set the bottle down beside Jane’s right hand.

“Well, don’t just stand there. Open it for me and pour it into a glass,” snarled Jane.

This was such uncharacteristic behavior by Jane that Cherry was unable to do anything but obey. As a submissive woman, the act of obeying gave her enormous satisfaction, and now that the order had come from her daughter, there was an added element that heightened the satisfaction and sexual arousal she felt as she moved to do what Jane had demanded.

Jane continued to eat her meal in silence as her mother placed a glass of water on the table beside her.

“Go and change your clothes, and get a cloth to mop up that water!” Jane was not going to let her mother off easily for the revelations she had so openly and frankly informed Jane about only hours before.

Cherry hurried off to her bedroom to change from her wet clothes. Stripping off the wet singlet and shorts that she typically wore at home, she stood for a moment and looked at herself in the full-length mirror in the door of her wardrobe. She was 46, but she knew that she was still able to attract men to fuck her, but for how long? That was the question she asked herself while she tried to understand what had made Jane change her behavior so abruptly.

The answer was quite obvious – Cherry telling her about how she had become a whore was the reason Jane was so mad at her. Perhaps she would calm down soon and life could return to normal. But in her heart, Cherry knew that life could never be normal again.

Sighing, she quickly ran a comb through her hair and put on a new singlet and thin cotton shorts. Then she went back to the kitchen where Jane was just finishing her meal. First, she picked up a cloth to wipe up the water that had made a puddle on the tiled floor. As she bent over, she turned her face to where Jane was sitting.

“Do you want anything else baby?” Cherry knew immediately that she had made a mistake by calling her daughter ‘baby.’ And she did not have to wait long for the inevitable angry explosion from Jane.

“God damn it you know I hate it when you call me that name. Has fucking so many men made you lose your memory? Is that what happens to sluts and whores? That they forget because as well as their looks fading from their bodies being abused, their memories also suffer because they are ashamed of what they do?” Jane wanted to hurt her mom, and mentioning ‘fading looks’ was a sure way to get under Cherry’s skin.

Cherry had had the same thoughts more and more recently. She was not young any more, and she could not hope to earn money from her body forever. However, hearing it from her daughter hurt even more, and she felt tears start to well up in her eyes.
