Peri’s dreams, as they had been the night before, were filled with visions of the black-haired woman cuddled beside him, placing kisses on his face and chest. It was the most peaceful, restful, and inspiring night of his life.
Sun streamed through the chamber window, letting Peri know he had slept long in the witch’s comfortable bed. He lay relaxed, enjoying the comfortable presence of the woman next to him.
A woman where a cat had been. It was like the dream he had had came true. He kissed her raven hair and petted it.
He could still feel her purring against his side.
She was, as he was, delightfully naked. He felt her stir in his arms and she slowly opened her eyes, smiling at him. On a ribbon around her neck hung a key. He touched it gingerly and looked into her flashing green and gold eyes.
“Are you ... my Eve?” he asked haltingly.
“My name is Eve. How did you know?”
“I would always be empty until I found the key to my Eve’s heart,” he mused. “And now my heart feels so full.”
“You have the key to my heart, my home, my body, my soul. Welcome home, my hero.”
“But how did it come to be? I have wandered all my life looking for ... for you.”
“And now you have found me.”
Peri leaned forward to kiss her and then halted just as their lips touched.
“Are you a woman or a cat?”
“Oh, very much a woman. I am a witch, however, and can change my form to that of a cat. But I am all woman,” she giggled, bringing his hand to her breast. She sighed. “All woman.”
Peri let his lips complete the hairsbreadth between them and they kissed. It was soft and exploring at first and then deepened as they touched their tongues together and let their mouths become one. Peri squeezed the breast she had placed his hand upon and she moaned into his mouth.
“You are far more than all the women in the world,” he sighed as they continued to play with their lips touching each other. “You are my Eve. The one I have searched for.”
“And here I was all along.” She ran her hand through his hair and down his rugged jawline. “Kiss me some more, my Peregrine.”
“All through the day yesterday, I never found out your name,” he said.
“I admit, I turned that question away from your lips more than once. You are now only the second person on earth to have heard it from me. The first was when I told Aunt Lilith what my name would be. And now you. You have my name from my lips.”
“Tell it to me with your lips again,” he said. They kissed some more.
He pulled away from her and turned slightly.
“I am not fit for you,” he cried. “I am a wanderer. I have been held by many women, not knowing what I was looking for. You are pure and beautiful and everything I dreamed of.”
“Name one woman you have been with,” she demanded.
“There was ... No, she was ... Once ... The memory of all flees before your smile. I only remember feeling empty inside and desperate to find the key to my Eve’s heart.”
“Then there have been none,” she said. “But perhaps your body will remember what to do when I lie in your arms like this.”
“Do you truly want me, Eve? I have never felt like this before.”
“That is why I want you, Peregrine. Love me and make love to me. Make us one.”
Peri’s body did, indeed, know what to do, though his mind was slower to catch on. The two young lovers explored each other with their lips and their hands, leaving no part untouched. When his hand came to rest upon the thick thatch of her pudenda she snatched in her breath and reflexively thrust her hips up at his questing fingers. They soon parted the hair to find the hot wet center of her being.
Nor was she less than active in their discoveries. Her hand found his rigid shaft and stroked it, smearing his lubricant around the head as he moaned and thrust his fingers into her.
She pulled him toward her and opened her legs to receive him between them. Then she gently guided him to the core of her womanhood.
“Be in me, my love, my hero, my Peregrine,” she sighed as he sank into her depths. Both paused as his hardness met her damp heat. They gazed into each other’s eyes. “I have dreamed of this moment for years.”
“For years I did not know who I was dreaming of. But still I have found you.”
“Oh, I knew. I knew from the first moment I saw you.”
“That was only a few days ago, wasn’t it?” Peri shifted and slid out and back into her welcoming body.
“Years ago. You were a naughty boy who stole an apple from Auntie’s favorite tree.”
“The apple. She cursed me and said I would wander and not rest easily until I found the key to the heart of my Eve. Until then my heart has been as empty as my belly. I could not rest until I found the key to her ... your heart. Your aunt must have been very angry with me.”
“I believe she was frightened. You see, I was ready to leap the wall into your arms that very day, but she said we were too young. We needed to find out what the world was made of and to test our strength against common foes. Only then would we be able to meet as equals and freely give our love.”
