Chapter 49

Yi woke up at 5:30 AM in the small cot that Sandy had staked out. As predicted, the twins had first climbed in bed with her claiming they were lonely, then they invited Wonka to join them, then during the night, they kicked Yi out of the bed. It was also predicted that they would go downstairs and crawl into bed with their parents, but that hadn’t happened yet.

What woke her was the cold. She couldn’t see her breath, but she told herself that was because it was so dark. Yi got out of bed and wrapped up in a sweater and a heavy, ugly bathrobe that Andi insisted she bring, and she was glad for it. She crept down the stairs and saw that the fire was incredibly low. She crept over to the wood stove and opened the door to the woodbox. The wood box was packed so full of wood that she had a tough time pulling some out, but she soon did and built up the fire in the wood stove. She adjusted the air vents as Paul showed her and soon the red embers started glowing bright orange and shoot sparks, then the flames appeared and grew and devoured the new wood.

It wasn’t long before the stove started radiating some heat and the light from the flames caused shadows to dance in the cabin. Yi felt rather than heard a movement and she looked and saw Andi sitting up on the couch. Her hair was a mess, and her flannel shirt was unbuttoned, exposing her full, round breasts. She blearily looked at Yi, then smiled and whispered, “Thanks, sorry.” And then laid down and was asleep in moments.

Yi smiled and turned back to tending the fire. When it was burning well enough to cut back the oxygen, she adjusted the intakes until the flames did their slow dance, then she got up. Yi couldn’t believe it. Hours ago, she was tanning in the tiniest bikini she owned, laying out on the foredeck of an eight million dollar yacht in an exclusive yacht club, attracting stares from men and women. Now she’s sitting in front of an iron wood-burning stove with her well fucked employer and friend sleeping on a futon behind her and they’re all waiting for a blizzard. At least she’s not bored.

She wandered into the other cabin, used the water closet, and while seated there, she opened the notebook Paul supplied and studied up on how to operate the sauna. As she read the detailed notes, she wondered for the umpteenth time why he didn’t go in for engineering. If he learns more about the Andi’s Dream, she’s out of a job in the engine room!

After rising from the toilet, she stepped over to the sauna and entered the code from the instructions. The code’s four digit number 8207 was spelled out in plain English in the instructions as “eight thousand two hundred seven” because the twins were wizzes with numbers, but they don’t like reading words, so the hope is that they’ll skip that part of the instruction. So far, it has worked. The twins knew about to entering a code to start the sauna, and they have tried some number combinations they found in the manual, but those ended up being a zip code and a telephone number. The twins just loved the sauna that much.
