Fan Fiction Sex Story: Chapter 52: The Return - The story follows James Smith, a man who dies and finds himself in a surreal afterlife courtroom, where his life is judged as "zero sum"—neither good nor evil, just utterly average. Dissatisfied with being consigned to eternal mediocrity, he manipulates the cosmic bureaucracy into granting him a second chance in a new world, where he is reincarnated as a child with his memories intact and perks... - edited by my lovely Steven.

A week after the battle, General Gadwin and James toured the scarred battlefield together. The dragon’s fury had left its mark everywhere, but the worst of the damage had finally been repaired. The stockpiles of rock spears and rock darts had been replenished, though the ground itself still bore witness to the creature’s terrible power.

“We’ve continued dispersing the supplies and are building an earthen dome over each depot,” Gadwin said, pride evident in his voice as they walked. “I’ve asked Baron Caldswell for the budget to construct proper stone barracks for each squad. The added protection will be worth every coin.”

James nodded, eyes sweeping across the devastated landscape. “After what we saw last week, that seems like an excellent use of the realm’s resources. Even if the dragon never returns, the men deserve solid barracks that can also serve as rally points in an emergency. Did the Baron give you any timeframe for funding?”

“He already has,” Gadwin replied. “The attack shook him to his core. If we hadn’t had three battlemages ready to meet at the landing, the eastern forces would have overrun us completely. The Baron could see his own death staring back at him from those burning wings. That kind of terror has a way of focusing even the most complacent mind.”

“And probably made him change his pants,” James added with a dry laugh.

“More than once, I’d wager,” Gadwin agreed, a rare smile cracking his stern features. “The Baron is an administrator, not a warrior. He prefers ledgers to battlefields.”

James grinned, “I’m just glad I wore my brown pants in the fight.”

The man laughed and nodded.

“As long as he agrees, I’m happy to support the plan,” James said. “Battlemage Aaron mentioned I’ll be meeting with the king soon. That may have helped convince the Baron to move quickly.”

“I don’t care about the politics,” Gadwin said bluntly. “The new construction will protect my men and pay dividends for years to come. Aaron has also requested that I assign a troop of soldiers to escort you to the capital. Are you ready to leave?”

“Yes,” James replied without hesitation. “I can depart anytime.”

An hour later, James rode out with four veteran soldiers, cantering along the road toward the city. He remained quiet, mind turning over unknowns and possibilities. The men, however, were in high spirits, laughing and swapping exaggerated tales of the battle. Their voices carried on the wind — giddiness at having survived mixed with the promise of free drinks in the taverns as they recounted their exploits to wide-eyed listeners.

The corporal leading the escort kept the pace steady. Behind them, the battlefield slowly receded, but its wounds were impossible to ignore.

The dragon had done far more than kill. Where its fiery breath had struck, the ground was fused into blackened glass, cracked and glittering like obsidian under the sun. Entire stretches of meadow had been reduced to scorched earth, the soil baked hard and sterile, nothing growing there for years to come. Trees that had stood for decades were now black stumps, limbs twisted and blackened, some still smoking faintly days later. The smell of burnt wood and scorched flesh lingered in the air, a reminder of how close they had come to disaster.

James glanced back once, taking in the scale of the destruction. “We were lucky,” he murmured.

The corporal beside him nodded grimly. “Luck, and good men. But luck runs out eventually.”

The troop stopped every hour for ten minutes to rest the horses and stretch. The monotonous pattern served to relax James. He could concentrate on the mundane rather than obsess over the unknown waiting for him at the capital.

When they camped for the night, James offered to help. The corporal gently turned him down.

“We are your honor guard. Please let us take care of the camp.”

James nodded and then removed the saddle from his horse. He walked the animal over to a clear spot and let it start cropping the grass. ‘I am not made to just sit idly by. I don’t consider myself upper-class and aloof from hard work.’

But the men were experienced and competent. The camp was quickly ready, and the food was already cooking. James had difficulty falling asleep that night. The change from the buildup to the conflict to this pastoral camp was a huge shift.

The next day, they reached the capital. They were met at the north gate where a new honor guard was waiting. James was taken to Mage Linwood, the head of the Mage Council.

“Come in,” Linwood called out. “Congratulations on your great victory!”

“I was only part of it; this victory had many fathers.”

“That may well be true. But it is simpler to attribute the victory to you than to explain all of the nuances to the masses. You, as the newest battlemage, brought new tactics that contributed to our overwhelming victory.”

“Well, that is partially true. I did suggest some new things that Aaron and the Baron embraced. The rock darts saved my life when the dragon attacked,” James added.

“Protection of the landing is decades of boredom coupled with moments of terror. There may be another attack tomorrow or not while any of us are alive. But eternal vigilance is critical. This has been the pattern for centuries.”

“Have you considered attacking? Perhaps seize some of their territories to add a protective buffer?”

“James, there is no advantage to the Kingdom to do so. The natural chokepoint provided by the bridge is perfect for us. We can hold it with a minimal number of troops. If we had troops on the eastern side, then they would be difficult to support on a daily basis, and especially if they were attacked. If they tried to retreat over the bridge, the bottleneck of the bridge would prevent most from escaping. We looked at this a generation ago and calculated that it would take five times the number of troops to hold a sliver of land on the other side of the bridge.”

“Thank you for the information. I certainly need more experience. But I have only been training for a few months and still have a lot to learn, both about magic and politics.”

“If the king allows, then you can learn much over the next few years by staying in the capital.”

“Mage Linwood, I have responsibilities in Castletown. I never expected a command to come to the capital or participate in a war. I do not want to abandon my role in my home city.”

“You are a subject of the king and must do as he commands.” Linwood reminded him.

“That is true and I am not being disloyal. But I can be more effective in protecting Castletown. No one expected an eastern battlemage to kidnap a lord’s daughter. If I had not been there, then the plot would have succeeded. The King does not want a large standing army, which would be necessary if all of the troops were stationed in the capital. By spreading the battlemages around, the king is gaining much security at little cost. And I will be doubly motivated since it is my home.”

“Perhaps. I will need to consider this. The king will ask for my thoughts before he makes a decision.”

“Then Mage Linwood, may I strongly request you act as my champion? I do not know anything about the intricacies of the court and would make many mistakes. If you could speak for me, then the king would reach the obvious conclusion. And it would reinforce my loyalty and devotion to the crown,” James pleaded.

“Are you sure? You would receive great riches by staying here. In fact, the king intends to gift you a hundred golds for your success. You could never have access to that kind of coin in the boonies.”

“Will you accept a portion of the reward to act as my champion?” James offered.

“Is it that important to you to return to Castletown?”

“Yes, it is.”

Linwood poured a glass of wine for each of them. He then stood and looked out the window for a moment.

“I can see you are reluctant to stay. An unhappy battlemage is a potential threat that could cause problems. I will accept your request and talk to the king. But I will need some of the gold to smooth the way, say 35 golds.”

“I agree, but how do we work this? I do not have the coins now and the king may decline to award them.” James asked.

“I will trust that you are a man of your word. I will use my own money as necessary and you can pay me before you leave town.”

James set down his glass and stood. “Thank you for your help, Mage Linwood.” He then quickly nodded his head in a gesture of respect. “When will I meet the king?”

“It has not been scheduled—probably next week. Enjoy your time in town. Buron will now take you to your room.”

Buron entered the room and motioned for James to follow him. As they walked, Buron asked, “Are you hungry now or would you prefer to wait for dinner?”

“Is it formal? Do I need a special wardrobe?” James asked.

“No, it is not formal. Your saddlebags are already in the room and your clothes should be cleaned and hung. When Susan heard that you returned, she requested that she could help you tonight.”

James’s face broke out in a huge smile. “Excellent, she was a wonderful help the last time I was here.”

When they reached the room, Susan was sitting on the bed, wearing only a thin blue robe. She was talking to a stunning, petite redhead who was wearing a thin white robe. When James entered the room, both women stood.

“This is Ariel,” Susan said. “She will help you relax tonight, and tomorrow she will show you the city.”

Ariel dropped her robe, smiled, and said, “Let us help you shower and remove the road grime.” James thought he had never heard a sexier voice.

Susan dropped her robe and grabbed his hand. Laughing, the two women dragged James down the hall to the shower. When they reached the room, Ariel adjusted the water while Susan stripped him of all his clothes.

Ariel went into the shower first and soaped herself up. Once James was wet, she used her body to soap him over his entire front. Then Susan started using her body to soap up his back. ‘A James sandwich.’

The two women used their hands to lather him up, their slick, soapy palms gliding over every inch of his body with practiced seduction. Ariel stepped onto a stool, pressing her full, firm breasts against his chest as she massaged soap into his hair and scalp. He turned toward her and got a face full of wet, glistening boobs, one stiff nipple nearly poking him in the eye.

He reached out instinctively for Ariel, only for Susan to deliver a sharp, playful spank to his hand. “You are supposed to stay still until we are finished.”

“Okay.”

When the girls decided he was clean enough, they pulled him from the shower and began drying him with soft, warm towels. Susan worked her way slowly from his feet to his head, her hands lingering on his thighs and hips. Ariel moved from his head downward, deliberately brushing her breasts across his back and shoulders. Then they reversed paths, teasing him with every stroke until his skin tingled and his cock throbbed painfully hard.

Stepping back, the two women dried each other with sensual caresses, their bodies pressing together, nipples grazing, soft moans escaping as they put on a little show just for him. They tossed the towels carelessly to the floor.

It felt surreal to James. ‘I am just their plaything. Oh, woe is me.’

Reaching the room, Ariel playfully pushed James onto the large bed and began kissing his forehead and face with feather-light touches. Susan adjusted his position so he lay flat on his back in the center of the mattress. She started rubbing his feet, then slowly worked her way up his calves and thighs with firm, teasing strokes. Ariel kissed down his neck and shoulders, her hot mouth leaving a trail of fire across his skin.

By now, he was rock-hard, his cock straining and leaking with need. He had just enough control not to grab the girls, savoring the exquisite torture instead. Ariel soon reached his nipples, licking and sucking them while her fingers traced circles around the sensitive buds. Susan lowered her head and began licking and kissing along his throbbing cock, her tongue swirling around the head before taking him deeper.

Then Ariel swung a leg over and planted her dripping, eager cunt right on his mouth. At the same moment, Susan impaled herself on his manhood in one smooth, wet slide, her tight heat enveloping him completely.
