Then she relaxed and pushed Lou out to arms length, looking him straight in the eye.

“I understand that you have not had enough, or any, mothering in your life. Until today. I’m taking that job. You know why? Because my Rubin is your friend, and he and I want to help you and add some family to your life, which sounds very lonely to me.”

“Keep looking in my eyes, Lou. Let me explain something. My foolish and selfish daughters were fighting because they both wanted to have you. Have you sexually. Do you understand?”

“But why?”

“You must have some idea that your cock is big—that you’re hung, don’t you?”

“Alright, I’ll come back to that. Let me put it another way. Lou, you’re a very handsome young man in the prime of your life. Even totally dressed, you will attract women’s eyes, for years to come. “If word got out that after snagging you, a girl then unwraps your tremendous gift, well, you’ll have to fight them off with a stick.

“Lou, my daughters HAVE boyfriends, wonderful, sweet guys who they adore. But when you walked out of the water looking like the god of the sea, that was it.”

Rubin shot a subtle glance at Lena, who was obviously feeling sentimental while reminiscing about his first time with her.

Harry interjected.

“Lou, we’ve been talking around and about you instead of listening. What would you like to say? Do you still want to go back home?”

“Wow. This is a lot. I guess I’m being offered mothering by Thea, which I don’t know a lot about but would be foolish to reject. So, thank you; I accept, Thea. I’ll try to be a good son and a good brother to Rubin.”

He lightly punched Rubin’s upper arm.

“Hey, bro.”

“I guess the second thing is that I need to find some kind and experienced woman to help me learn to have good sex, and that your sexy, beautiful twins are off the table. Lena, Thea, are either of you willing to take one for the team?”

Lou smiled, and Harry laughed.

“Look at him, Rubin; he’s adorable. I’ll bet there are puddles on both chairs right now.”

“Puddles? I don’t understand.”

“I’ll tell you later, Lou.”

Lena looked at Thea.

“Rock, paper, scissors?”

“What?” In a kindergarten voice: “I saw him first!”

Harry roared with laughter.

“I understand where the two girls got it from. Dibs, indeed. Lou, it should be your choice, not random chance. Or, you could break both their hearts and hold out for somebody younger.”

“Alright. Thea, if you are mothering me, then our being intimate together would be weird, like incest.”

“Oh, fuck! I outsmarted myself. I hereby resign as your mother. Lena, you can’t take him!”

“Nu-uh.”

I rolled my eyes. Even more childishness!

“Lou, I have great affection for you, but I’m childless. I took Rubin’s virginity; I would be honored to have yours as well.”

“I guess, then, it’s Lena. You haven’t seen me yet, so it will be a surprise, I guess.”
