At precisely 7:00 AM Monday morning the alarm on Eve’s phone rang, signaling the start of another run-of-the-mill week for her, and a potentially rough start to the week for Will. She rolled over and hit the button to silence the increasingly loud chimes coming from her side of the bed. She then promptly fell asleep for another forty minutes. When she woke she jumped out of bed and hit Will on the shoulder.
“Fuck, we’re running late. I’m getting in the shower. You have ten more minutes then you need to get started,” Eve said as she headed into the bathroom.
Will rolled over and folded his pillow over his head. He tried to close his eyes but knew it was a futile effort. He grunted and threw the pillow up to the headboard and rolled out of bed. A few quick tugs and the sheets and comforter were mostly in place.
Will pulled off his t-shirt and underwear and dropped them in the hamper. He then stood over the toilet to relieve himself as the water in the shower shut off.

“You want a bagel for breakfast?” asked Eve as she left the bathroom.
“Yes,” he called after her retreating figure.
Will finished his shower and dressed quickly. He pulled on a pair of shorts and a t-shirt and found his wife in the kitchen.
