As they dried each other off, Andi was still giggling over Lucy’s interruption. “Well, it’s not the first time that girl has heard me cum,” shrugged Andi, as she patted Paul’s butt dry.
“What? tell me,” grinned Paul.
“We were roomies for years, remember? And you know sometimes you have to take matters in hand and sometimes you stumble in on your roomie who is taking matters in hand. This is the first time she walked in on me having sex while there was someone else in the room...”
Andi was interrupted with a raucous clamor, the clattering and banging of pots and pans outside the changing room. She nearly jumped out of her skin. “What the...” the rest of what she was going to say was lost in the noise.
Completely frazzled, Andi reached for her. “Mrs. Santa” dress that Paul bought for her to wear today, and he quickly pulled on his clothes. As soon as she had her dress in place, a corner of the curtain moved, and Andi could see Macy’s eye peeking through. Suddenly, music was heard through the clattering and banging, and then all of a sudden, the clattering stopped, and the curtain was pulled open while voices sang;
It’s the most wonderful time of the year
With the kids jingle belling
And everyone telling you be of good cheer
It’s the most wonderful time of the year
Andi squealed and laughed as she saw their gym was full of people singing to her and Paul, many people from church, Brad and Dianna Clemmons and Gerry and Irma Hirsh from Trevette road, then Andi noticed Katrina Mays, her Nurse Practitioner from University Hospital. The co-workers squealed and ran to each other and hugged, but whatever they said was lost in the singing that changed to
God bless the master of this house, likewise the mistress too,
And all the little children that round the table go
Love and joy come to you
And to you your wassail too;
And God bless you and send you A Happy New Year
And God send you A Happy New Year
“Three Cheers for the bride and groom! Hip-Hip-Horray! Hip-Hip-Horray! Hip-Hip-Horray!”
And the banging and clattering restarted, but the crowd paraded back upstairs leaving behind Paul, Andi, Lucy, Katrina, and the twins who really enjoyed banging their aluminum pie pans together.
“What was that?” laughed Andi.
“That was an ancient tradition which was extremely popular in this area during the colonial times, especially out here when this area was considered the ‘wild west’ back in the seventeen hundreds. This banging and clanging and singing is called Chivaree,” said Paul. “The friends of the newlyweds would come out to the house or wherever the honeymooners retreated for their wedding night, and they would do this until the newlyweds were able to bribe them into silence, usually with food and alcohol.”
“Good thing they didn’t come out to the cabin last night,” said Andi, as she guided Katrina to the media room.
“Oh, they’re smart, they wouldn’t come out to the cabin. They know I have a crossbow.”
Andi suddenly whirled around and cuddled up close to Paul. “Speaking of smart, guess who forgot to put these on again?” and she held up her silk panties so he could see them. “I’m going to put them somewhere warm and safe until later,” and she shoved them down his pants, tucking them in nice and tight where he would constantly notice their presence. “Now ta-ta my good man, the Ladies Katrina and Lucy and I have some conversing to do.”
