Chapter 1

My name is John and I fit gas boilers for a living, I pride myself in offering a good price and doing quality work. About 4 weeks ago I received a call from Maureen, a 70-year-old grandmother in need of a new A-rated boiler. We hashed out the details over the phone, agreed on a fair price, and set a date for the installation.

Little did I anticipate the complications that would arise during what seemed like a routine job.

Upon completing the installation, I handed Maureen the final invoice, confident that the job was done well. However, to my surprise, Maureen attempted to renegotiate the price, aiming for a substantial £2000 reduction. I stood my ground, reminding her of the previously agreed-upon amount and explaining the costs involved in the installation.

Maureen, undeterred, continued to press me for a lower cost, expressing her discontent with the situation. I kept my cool and maintained professionalism, I offered a compromise—reducing the price by £300. It was a tough decision, as this meant I would barely cover my costs, but I prioritized customer satisfaction, hoping it would resolve the issue.

With reluctance, Maureen accepted the adjusted price, but her dissatisfaction lingered palpably in the air. As I packed up my tools and left, a sense of unease settled in. Little did I know that the ordeal was far from over.

Days later, I discovered Maureen had taken her grievances to social media, leaving scathing reviews that accused me of overcharging and doing a shoddy job fitting the boiler. The impact was swift and severe. Potential clients, swayed by these false accusations, began to reconsider hiring me.

My once-thriving business took a significant hit as Maureen’s negative review spread. Despite my best efforts to explain what really happened I lost a big contract with a housing firm.

I now found myself facing the challenge of rebuilding trust within the community.

A couple of weeks later I went out to meet up with the guys from the pool team I play in.

I told them about the new boiler I had installed for the 70-year-old woman named Maureen. Gave them all the details of what had happened and the fallout etc, they all said that’s rough mate, she sounds like a right bitch etc.

One of my team-mates a guy called George took me to one side and said “Maureen is my ex-wife, you know, she was always a fucking bitch, she spent all my hard-earned cash on clothes and going to the bingo, she would rarely have sex with me, and then it was only ever missionary position.”

I asked him how long they were married and when did they get divorced, he said, “We were married for 30 years, no idea why and how I stuck it that long, and I got divorced 10 years ago.”

I asked George what he thinks I should do about my situation, George wrote down his address on a beer mat and handed it to me saying “call around tomorrow morning my wife will be out, I have an idea about your situation, but we need to talk about it in private.” I said ok George”

We both then went back to the other guys in the pool team and spent the rest of the evening playing pool. The next morning I went around to Georges he let me in, offered me a cup of tea or coffee, to which I said “I will have a tea please”.

Once he handed me my cup of tea he said. “This is my idea for the situation my ex-wife Maureen as caused you, You could get revenge on her by fucking raping her hard. Teach her a lesson she will not forget”.

I was shocked by this and nearly spat out the tea I was drinking. After my initial shock was over I said, “You’re just kidding aren’t you George”.

“No mate, I am very serious you could get revenge by fucking raping her hard, and to help you with your decision, I will give you £10,000 if you do this, help you out financially till your back on your feet. I got left a lot of money in a will, recently and can not think of a better way to spend some of it.

After thinking about this for a few minutes I agreed to do this.
