Chapter 102: Lydia’s Doubts
Incest Sex Story: Chapter 102: Lydia’s Doubts - Mark and Lydia hit a lot of bumps during the cold war and fate eventually brings them to the other side of the globe, but even there the challenges don't end. This is the founding story of my planned "It's always the Germans" universe, which will be created when this story reaches the year 1998.

Author’s Note:
This is one of the very few occasions when I stray from writing an entirely fictional story. This chapter has an autobiographic element. This chapter will mention ‘a pupil in Saxony-Anhalt’ and some events from the year 1991. This pupil actually existed and those events actually happened. That pupil was I.
Jenny
On my first day back in school I did get some curious looks of course. Over here in Germany Spring was just getting in gear and the temperatures only now started to stay consistently above sixteen degrees centigrade, which was our cut-off point for wearing clothes or not. To say I stood out was an understatement. After a mild, but mostly sun-starved winter, everyone was white as a sheet, except for me. I tanned quickly anyway, so I was more than one shade darker than anyone else. The looks got even more curious when my female class mates noticed in the locker room before the PE session, that I didn’t have any tan lines at all.
Unfortunately my performance didn’t match my skin tone, because I still felt weak. We had only returned on Saturday and I was still a bit jet-lagged. Our teacher took pity on me and decided that I would repeat my rather lack-luster performance over the 200 meter sprint at a later date, instead of bagging an undeservedly bad grade.
Regina
I didn’t like long distance travel much, but I was definitely happy to have them all back in the house again. I had had Feli for company and Ian and Ira had dropped by for a short visit, but otherwise the last two weeks had not been too much fun.
Unfortunately that renewed bustle in our homes was not to last long. Jenny had barely a week to get over the jet lag before she was expected in Portugal for her first ever international karting event, and Nadja was to run her first race of the season at the Nürburgring the weekebd after that. Fortunately none of them had brought much laundry, so the weather in the Caribbean had apparently been good enough to do without clothing.
I for once had to put some on. Being naked was my factory setting inside our home, but for a visit to my former employer, Jenny’s school, I had to get dressed, obviously. A lot was riding on our visit to Jenny’s school as we would get a verdict how good we had done in making sure that Jenny wouldn’t drop back in her studies. Not that I had had any hand in it. Doreen had done all the work and if her opinion counted for anything, Jenny had had no problems understanding the topics and doing the assigned homework.
Granted, doing trigonometry stark naked on a beach in the Caribbean had probably been a little more relaxing than the conditions in which her classmates had had to absorb the complex knowledge, but in the end everything depended on the verdict of her teachers, my former colleagues.

Since she had worked here, Regina knew the school inside out, but lack of navigational information was not our problem. We had been held up by traffic on the way there and we arrived right when the bell rang for the lunch break, so we were quickly swamped by kids of all ages, trying to get to the dining hall first. Unfortunately, said dining hall was in the opposite direction of where we were trying to go. Our progress was limited.
The stampede ended as quickly as it had begun. Hungry after the first four lessons of the day, the kids had not wasted much time and the classrooms had quickly spilled their occupants. With the famished mob gone, we could finally finish our journey to the director’s office without having to fear that we would be trampled.
“Jenny had PE the last two periods,” Regina answered my unspoken question of why we hadn’t encountered her. I just nodded to acknowledge her information. Still used to how things had been in the days of yore, Regina just walked into the antechamber of the director’s office without knocking.
The office lady behind the desk looked up, clearly irritated why someone would just walk in here unannounced and uninvited, but when she saw who the trespasser was, her scowl gave way to a delighted smile.
“Regina!” she said enthusiastically and the two women hugged each other. “You have decided to come back?”
“Only to face the music,” Regina said and pointed at the entrance to the main office. The door was half open, so I assumed the director had noticed our arrival. That assumption was confirmed almost immediately.
“I’m not going to sing, but you can come in Regina,” a female voice invited us.
She chuckled and led me into the main office where we were greeted by a lady who was at best just five years older than Regina. Quite frankly, I had expected someone much more experienced.
“Sit down,” she invited us and we all sat down on armchairs around a small coffee table, surrounded by all kinds of potted plants. It was obvious that the director of this school loved her greenery.
“I can only echo Gunda’s sentiment,” she began. “We’d really love you to come back, Regina. All colleagues I have spoken to were hugely impressed with how well prepared Jenny was. One even said, she had understood the topic better than if she had sat in the actual lesson.”
Regina blushed a bit.
“Um, actually, I had nothing to do with it. I wasn’t even with them,” she confessed. “It was all Doreen’s doing.”
“Doreen Nitze – the swimmer?” the director asked, visibly stunned.
“Well, she is a smart cookie,” I helped Regina out. “And don’t underestimate Jenny’s part in it. For the last seven years she had to race at tracks she had never seen before. If you only have two practice sessions to learn a track, you develop an ability to absorb new information very fast.”
“That may well be,” the director argued. “But that doesn’t explain why Jenny aced a written physics test she only learned about five minutes before she had to go through with it. We had announced it last week, but somehow we forgot to tell Jenny.”
I chuckled. “I’m not a gambling man, but I would bet a lot of money that, if Jenny were to sit the tenth grade graduation exams in math, physics or English right now, she would ace all of those. She has grown up bilingual for the last seven years, and unlike many other young drivers of her age, she wants to know and understand every detail of the technical side of things. There is a reason why her team uses her as an unofficial test driver at age fourteen.”
“Was that a metaphorical comparison, or are you serious, Mr. Harris?” she asked me with an astonished look.
“I’m dead serious,” I said. “Jenny is testing high powered racing cars at an age at which other girls are still playing Chinese ropes. They didn’t let her do that because she’s so cute, but because she has so much knowledge about the technical side of things, she can give fairly comprehensive feedback. That only works with a very good grasp of math and physics. In terms of language, math and physics, she’s years ahead.”
“That is an interesting proposition,” the lady said and stood to rummage around in her cabinet. She came back with a small stack of papers.
“These are some math and physics exams from previous years. If Jenny can deal with those, she could sit her exams this year. Due to her racing she’ll miss a lot of lessons. Things would be easier if she has three fewer subjects to catch up on.”
“Is that even possible?” Regina asked.
“I have to clear it with the Saxon ministry of education,” the director explained. “There is precedent in Saxony-Anhalt. In 1991 a pupil sat his twelfth-grade exams in Russian and English a year early. In fact he sat the R-class exam in Russian, so effectively he skipped three years.”
“I’m afraid I need some explanation here,” I admitted.
Regina smiled, knowing I was playing the ‘befuddled American’ expertly.
“In East Germany Russian was taught starting in fifth grade, but there were some schools in which pupils started to learn Russian in third grade. These were the so-called R-classes. It were usually kids being groomed for a military career or a job in the diplomatic corps. So if I understood Rosa correctly, that pupil sat the R-class exam, despite the fact he had only started to learn Russian in fifth grade, and sat the exam a year early on top of it, hence the skip of three years.”
“Exactly,” the director agreed. “Granted, that wasn’t a normal school, but the special classes in Merseburg, but I see no reason why they wouldn’t grant us the same exception.”
“Special need classes?” I asked, this time properly confused.
“Not ‘special need’, just special classes,” she answered with a smile. “In the G.D.R. we had several schools for the highly gifted. Merseburg was one of those. They were specialized in Chemistry. Interestingly enough, the most notable alumni ended up being IT specialists. The school was part of the Technical University there and pupils had much better access to computers than in normal schools. That might have played a part in it.”
“So, essentially they went to a special high-school, but at a university?” I asked.
“Correct. Instead of being taught by mere ‘normal teachers’, like Regina and myself, they were taught by Doctors and Professors, at least in the focus subjects. Unfortunately the whole concept died in 1993. None of these schools survived.”
“Sounds like a waste of talent,” I argued. “It sounds like a good concept.”
“It was,” the director agreed with a sigh. “But after the reunification of Germany, everything that came from G.D.R. times was abolished, even if it was a good concept. There is not much good to say about the G.D.R., but our education system was far superior to that of West Germany. We didn’t have any resources – no oil, coal or anything, unless you count the lignite junk they dug up around here. The only real resource were people, so they invested heavily into education.”
“So, if I understand correctly,” I changed the subject. “You are satisfied with how Jenny kept pace and you would even try to get her permission to sit some of her exams early?”
“Let her try the exams I gave you. If she feels confident enough, I see no reason why she couldn’t sit math, physics and English exams in June when the tenth grade graduates. Ulla Manz tells me she’s bored stiff in her English lessons anyway.”
“That doesn’t surprise me,” I said and chuckled. “Jenny and Matt have been teaching each other for years. He writes her emails in German and she answers in English.”
“Matt is the American boy who will attend this school from September?” she asked.
“Yes,” I confirmed. “I hope he won’t find it too hard to adapt. He won’t have any problem with the language, but analyzing Goethe’s Faust is not something they teach in the States.”
“I’ve already consulted the ministry of education about that,” the director explained. “German lessons for him will count as the mandatory foreign language, so he will be exempt from the more complex assignments. However, since he is a native English speaker, he will get more complex assignments in English, probably Shakespeare or some-such. Those assignments will come from the consular school of the American embassy in Berlin. Provided he passes the exams in tenth grade, his diploma will be valid in both Germany and the United States.”
“Good to know,” I said with a smile. “I’m not worried about him fluffing the exams. He and Jenny have been pushing each other academically for years.”
“Oh that’s where it came from,” the director said and laughed.
“Pardon?” I asked.
“Until fourth grade, Jenny was at best an average student. Suddenly in fifth grade she took off academically. These days she’s one of the best students in class,” the director explained.
“Yeah, that fits, time-wise,” Regina agreed with her former boss. “Although that might also have to do with the fact that the natural science lessons start in fifth grade. Jenny’s willingness to put in an effort is very much dependent on her interest in the matter.”
“Anyway,” the director said. “The teacher’s board has evaluated Jenny’s progress and decided that frequent absences will not hamper her academic progress. On a personal note though, you should perhaps not push it in that regard. I’ve already had complaints from other parents whose children are not afforded the same privilege.”
“Well, we’ll have to make heavy use of that privilege for the next three months. The majority of her races are in that time frame, but I can assure you, it will be a lot less in ninth and tenth grade, as she will mostly be racing in Germany then. And besides, she won’t let Matt go to school by himself. That boy isn’t exactly ugly, and she will want to guard him closely,” I explained.
We all had to chuckle about that.
Meri
I didn’t know if Mark and Regina had told Jenny about the result of their visit to her school. If they hadn’t, she had obviously decided that there could have been no other result than her being allowed to skip out of school for another two weeks, after just one day. As soon as she had come home, she started to load her stuff into the smaller of the big new RVs.
“Jenny, hon, you’re loading the wrong vehicle,” I told her. “You’re taking the big one.”
She stopped and looked at both RVs.
“Why would we take that huge thing for just two people?” she asked me.
“Because the big one has a shower?” I asked rhetorically. “Unless of course you want to take a shower with a bunch of truckers in a French motorway service station.”
“Yeah, that could be a problem,” Jenny agreed dryly. “I don’t speak any French.”
I just shook my head about her deadpan delivery and walked back into the house.

Loading all we needed into the large RV had not taken long, mainly because Jenny had already done most of it. Motivated by the prospect of a long road trip with dad, she had worked hard and quick, even though she had at first started to load the wrong vehicle, or so I had been told by Meri. I made the last checks to make sure every cupboard was secured against opening in a tight bend while Jenny had already gone back into the house.
When I arrived in the living room, I immediately noticed that something was off – everyone was clothed, even Regina. I looked around if we had an unexpected guest I had not noticed, but all faces were familiar.
“Why do I see so many shirts around here?” I asked. Everyone chuckled and the offending pieces of clothing came off. Well, nearly everyone, as Jenny has kept hers on.
“What’s wrong? You gone shy all of a sudden?” I questioned her to wide-spread amusement and she took off hers too.
“That’s quite unlike you,” Meri noted with a giggle.
I shrugged. “Well, that shirt will have to stay on for the next seven days, and I don’t fancy hearing all day that I didn’t tell her in time. By the way, why were you all wearing shirts in the first place?”
