“Shit! I’m sorry, Justin, I didn’t mean to blab,” I told him.
We were both aware that if the wrong people knew who we were, we could be in for a lot of grief. I was surprised that I had said anything at all, as normally I’m very good at keeping secrets.
Justin hugged and kissed me. “I have a feeling that Sarah being in the know will be to our advantage. She will be more vigilant in helping keep you safe. Having the Connors family in our court will make those here wishing to cause us harm a lot more careful. I wasn’t aware that they were such a powerful family here.”
I answered, “If it has to do with space flight, the Connors have their fingers in many pies. They got in on the space race in its infancy. I know they give the American’s a hard time about borrowing their patents and have been in the International Courts a few times when some of their companies and a few other countries get a little overzealous.”
“In that case, I can see why the Australian Government plays nice with them,” Justin said.
“Yes, I think the Major and Anne are also playing a deep game. We have become pawns in something a lot bigger than two simple cops from the Far North of Queensland probably should be involved in. But hey, the bad guys started it, and I can assure you, my love, I will finish it if harm is sent our way,” I told him.
“You lead, my fearless leader, and I will follow. I know who the brains of our outfit is. I have no more intention of losing you than you do, me. We will just have to watch each other’s backs very carefully,” he informed me as he hugged me harder.
He then started kissing me again, and I found myself being walked backwards through a door. He stopped and got busy helping me out of my spacesuit.
“What’s the hurry?” I asked with a big grin.
“I have to pleasure my new wife since it’s our honeymoon,” he said as he kept working on getting me out of the suit.
I giggled and decided I’d better help him. He was very adept at getting me out of the suit. We had both learnt several little tricks to get them off and out of our way. The thermal suits followed the outer suits to the floor, and Justin had me on my back and on the bed in record time.
I loved Justin’s willingness to make sure I was more than ready to receive him. He definitely had a thing for jamming his nose into my crotch and lavishing it with his tongue, teeth, lips and his undivided attention.
I was that ready for him that a couple of licks and a quick suck later had me shuddering for him. My grunts and groans of satisfaction had him moving up to cover me very soon after. I was a little surprised by how horny we both were, and he had no trouble convincing me to take a second ride into heaven with him.
The joy of our joining was equally shared.
Our first dinner on Luna was very entertaining.
Before we went down to dinner, I told Justin that we had to keep a low profile and amass as much evidence as we could. He sighed and said that he had better make sure that he ordered those knuckle-dusters for me and a new bullet-proof vest for himself.
He chuckled when I said to make sure he ordered some good spy audio-cams too. He knew that I was deadly serious.
We met the rest of the Connors family in the spacious dining room, and we were immediately pulled into the group. We had our cover stories down pat, and it was received with little comment. We got inducted into the dos and don’ts of living in domes on Luna.
We also learned a lot more about the situation we had inadvertently been thrust into. Most of the people on Ray’s list were mentioned in casual conversations, and we got more background information on them.
All of the information added to the profiles we were building about our fellow MPs.
It was after dinner that the next twist in my life occurred.
Lora had been giving Justin and me some odd looks all through dinner. She had told us that she was in her late sixties and had lost her partner two years before. She had come to Luna to spend some time to grieve and decide what she wanted to do next.
She was working for Anne, managing the upkeep and renovations of their properties on Luna, as it kept her out of trouble for the time being. She was an architect and had building experience. She and her late husband, Frank, had operated a construction consultancy firm.
Lora told us that Frank had died in an explosion. A potential client wasn’t happy with the standard of work of his current contractor and had asked Frank to inspect the work before it got beyond being repairable.
When the contractor heard about the inspection, he had contrived to blow the building up, as he knew he had skimped on the materials and that Frank would know as soon as he started the inspection. Frank had made a few enemies over the years, as he was a stickler for the rules and hated unsafe buildings.
The building had been triggered to blow when Frank and the owner were in the basement. The idiot builder had also lost his life because the bomb had gone off early. Lora had not even been able to recover Frank’s body.
After the others started heading up to their rooms, she collared Justin and me and asked if she could have a word with us in private. She said she didn’t wish to impose on us newly-weds, but she felt that she had to talk to us. Soft-hearted Justin invited her up to our room for a friendly drink.
She said she would meet us there, and we went our separate ways.
Justin and I had decided to leave the sight-seeing until the morning as we were both a bit buggered after the long day we’d had.
He put the coffee on while I shifted some of the stuff, we hadn’t yet unpacked to the second bedroom. James let Lora in and indicated the lounge, and she replied that the kitchen table would be fine. She said that if we made her too comfortable, we’d never get rid of her.
Once we all had a cuppa and were comfortable, she looked at me and said, “How many gems?”
“Pardon?” I replied.
“On your medallion,” she came back.
I looked at her with raised eyebrows wondering what the hell she was on about.
She rolled her eyes and said firmly, “Dear, I know you’re not wearing a magical ring, so it has to be a medallion or a diadem. I can’t see the aura of a diadem, so it must be a medallion.”
