As a writer and avid SOL reader, I sometimes wish for a way to give extra props to outstanding stories and writers and maybe a helpful hint for those who are close but haven't quite gotten there yet.
So I volunteered to become a reviewer.
I bring the sensibilities of a former newspaper editor, for better or for worse, to the task. Thus, grammar, punctuation and spelling are important. (General hint to all authors: shorter paragraphs).
My own predilections are described more fully in my author profile and aren't worth repeating here.
