Let me just mention Daughters of Priapus first, the prequel to this particular story. When I reviewed that story, I said it was one of the best I'd ever read on SoL, and I still maintain that it is. Daughters of Priapus 2 - Reawakenings is a perfect compliment to it. As does Athalia though, I would strongly recommend that you read Daughters of Priapus first, if you haven't already.
So why are these stories so good? For one thing, being the old fart that I am, it's nice to read stories about my own age group, instead of hormone ravaged teenagers, though I'm sure some of the younger readers will find a 'squick' element in mature sexuality. Personally, I can empathise with the main protagonists to a much greater extent. The other thing is, that the story is beautifully written, error free, and with impeccable grammar.
Whilst I don't think Daughters of Priapus 2 - Reawakenings has the same emotional impact as Daughters of Priapus, it's still an excellent story, an exploration of mature sex in a modern environment, and a rediscovery of an active libido, an affirmation that sexuality doesn't die post menopause, male or female. Add this story to your library so you can read it again and again, but make sure the prequel is there too!
