It's like the difference between having sex, and making love, or even a quick one off the wrist, and mutual masturbation with the love of your life.
Richmond Road's Prifysgol series is full of sex and sensuality, but there's a thread of love running between the characters that moves these stories out of the ordinary. Because the story is written in such a way that the protagonists care for each other, you, the reader, start to care about the protagonists too. Richmond Road draws his readers into a web of lust, love, and mutual satisfaction.
Technically, RR's main protagonist's adventures at Coleg y Prifysgol Caerdydd (It means Cardiff University, and no, I can't pronounce it either!) are excellent, both in the spelling, and grammatically. Blissfully free of homophones, and with very few typos. At the time of writing this review, only three of the series were completed, though a fourth was being posted, so you and I, dear reader, can look forward to at least one more episode, though we can hope for several more after that. Fingers crossed!
There are certain similarities between university life world wide, but the devil is, as they say, in the detail, and it's wonderful to see student life portrayed somewhere other than on the American sub-continent. Yes, the main thrust (if you'll forgive the pun) of RR's stories is the sex, but the picture of university life in the UK in the 1970s will bring back memories for many, and enlighten many more. These are great stories, and not to be missed!
Read, and enjoy!
