This is a good story. I found it browsing for something to read. The author's pen name Werewolf caught my interest. If it had been Vampire or Zombie I wouldn't have looked. There are some other stories using Aftermath and it always seemed to me the answer to that question would be recess, or maybe lunch. Nobody would schedule a difficult class after math.
This story is short, three chapters, but has romance, sex, and the hero getting the Victoria Cross and a German girl who will be his wife. We meet the girl's brother who was a POW in England and the hero's family. It ends after the medal ceremony at Buckingham Palace, going to sleep after the end of a long day, but with the feeling things will go well for them all in the future.
The plot is nothing elaborate, just enough to support the story. Lets give it a seven, its better than average for the length of the story. Technically its pretty good, I didn't see any errors. Lets call it an eight. Appeal to reviewer, I liked it. Lets give it an eight, which is an A in my six is a C, average, seven is a B (above average) and eight is an A, good, grading system. Nine is an A plus and ten is at most once a month WOW!
I like to look around for gems or at least costume jewelry to recommend that haven't been reviewed before and deserve your attention. I don't see this edging onto a top fifty list, but I am glad I read it. Its a feel good story.
