Tim is the highschool geek who never had much going for him but his head - and then into his life comes Pete. Pete is a few years older and acts as a mentor for Tim, guiding him to a better future and opening up opportunities.
With a bit of attention, Tim starts to blossom, become more social, more secure, and more sure of himself. In college he starts to fall for a beautiful girl who stops him dead in his tracks and lands him flat on his ass.
This story is so full of heartbreak and heartache, there's cheating and mistrust and hope and joy... such a tremendous emotional roller-coaster that had me in tears several times.
Seriously gut-wrenching and a fantastic read - it takes you through several years of Tim's life and how a lifetime of hurt can affect a man, his relationships and his relationships, both in college and in adult life.
There are some sex scenes scattered, and they are fairly intensely charged and very erotic and add to the plot well.
I don't want to spoil anything because it is something that you need to experience for yourself - it's a romantic and incredibly emotional journey and I highly advise you to take the time to read it and stick with it to the end.
