I've recently been trawling the site search engine for stories that I might be interested in and this one really shone through for me...
I do enjoy a good "Do Over" story, and the site seems to have plenty - but what I really enjoy is the coming of age story of a guy who is going to be successful, who has a lot going for them, and something upbeat and fun.
This story hits major home runs in that department.
Ben Stone has just turned sixteen and with it inherits a legacy of the Stone family business. He's wealthy, he's blessed and he's got an office in a powerful company. Along with it he gets a sexy as hell personal assistant, and some confidence to start living up to his potential.
Unfortunately, at present this is a discontinued story, while Cold Creek continues with his Defenceman saga (which I haven't read, because... sports...). Given how great that story scores, and the love others have for it I'm sure continuing that would be a priority for a lot of lovers of CC's writing... but I just loved this as the beginning of a tale.
It's such a great start, and such great potential I was very disappointed by its end.
Read it and I hope you can be disappointed too... in a good way.
