I'm not into DomSub and strongly dislike abusing women, but I still love this story. It's a bit too dark and hopeless for me at times, and the MMC is stupid (I hate the stereotypical clueless/stupid men meme) and turns into a bit of a bitch at times as well, but it ticks so many boxes for me (fantasy, gods and demigods, supernatural and magic, middle ages level civilizations, love, harem, lots of sex, power fantasy, etc.) that I couldn't stop reading this story and consider it to be amazing.
They author has a very interesting writing style and maintains excellent levels of suspense, mystery and tension. The characters are interesting as well (strong but with flaws), especially the relationship dynamic between the two main characters...us against the world no matter what. My main gripes were that the sharing and submissive bullshit with Queen Leandris and the extended teasing with Nyssa's virginity (Athea's too but thankfully that was taken care of in a more reasonable timeframe) was starting to piss me off a bit as well...it was going on for far too long and was past the point of being contrived (not to mention repetitive and boring with the number of words wasted on bringing it up over and over again). A lot of that is due to my lack of patience and I eventually got over it later on as the story progressed and most other relationships developed to my enjoyment.
Overall I really enjoyed this story and gave it a 10/10.
