Reviewed:
When I first finished this story I felt that I should write a review. Then I realised that I could not because (although I enjoyed it hugely) I wasn't sure how I felt about the ending.
This is a story that is different, and that deserves the high marks that it has been rating. It is a little jewel, almost a pearl as it has been pared down to essentials, nicely rounded and polished. I appreciate the author's care with word choice and spelling; there are no jarring distractions from the story. The twists were unexpected, leaving me always wondering where we would go next. The ending is perhaps a bit sudden, leaving the reader with a decision to be made. One of the protagonists leaves the other a request, not an unreasonable one, and the author leaves us to decide why that request has been made.
It is good to finish a story but still be thinking about it hours later. I'm still not sure that I know the reason for the request, but I am sure that everyone should enjoy reading the story, and I am enjoying thinking about that question a full day later.
