'happyhugo' strikes again! Cecil Corliss, Young Investor is a slow paced story, but it draws the reader in and holds their attention. Technically very good, the editing could have been a little more stringent, as most of the errors were just typos, except for a confusing tendency to occasionally mix lines of dialogue from separate protagonists in the same paragraph. Another aspect I found a little off-putting, was the relative lack of contractions such as 'we'll', 'don't', and so on, though in an uncanny way, the excessive formality of the language fitted in well with the main protagonist in the story.
The plot is pretty unique, given that most 'coming-of-age' stories revolve around sexual excess, and financial impecuniousness. The eponymous main protagonist turns the financial benefits of a loveless childhood into an adulthood full of love and affection.
If you're looking for a stroke story, look elsewhere. Though there is a lot of sex in this story, none of it is graphic, and all of it involves love to one extent or another. Thankfully, there are no ten-inch dicks, and no massive tits to make the story laughable, but the life and loves of Cecil Corliss make a story well worth reading. Cecil Corliss, Young Investor doesn't burst into the reader's mind like fireworks into the night sky, but flows like a river, inexorable and majestic.
Read this story, you won't regret it.
Read and enjoy!
