Reviewed:
Ray is a man in love. His college girlfriend, Kathryn seems to be everything he could want - attentive, attractive, beautiful and willing. And he's ready to commit to her.
So of course it all goes horribly wrong.
There is a silver lining in the whole mess, however, and that is Kathryn. But not that Kathryn.
No, his girlfriend Kathryn was named after her grandmother, also named Kathryn - and in the grandmother Ray has a companion who he finds suits him far better in personality, spirit, and love.
If you seriously told me that I would be interested in a story where the college guy falls for a girl's GRANDMOTHER I would have laughed at you. Stangstar does amazing in bringing this story to a really romantic, loving, funny and heartwarming place.
The ending is just brilliant.
I really enjoy the way Stangstar plays to a formula but undermines and twists with every one of his work, adding genre, making them intimate or providing a bigger scale, each story very individual even if it follows the skeleton of the formula (or often subverts it).
He is one author that I just had to read every one of his works, but this truly is one of the standouts for me.
Take a chance, have a read, and feel great you did.
