Author's Description:
Roger Bishop found early retirement from a factory to be lonely and boring, especially since he's a widower. With nothing better to do, he gets the idea of going south to help with the cleanup after Hurricane Katrina. Down amid the rubble, he meets a lifelong free spirit, Catalina Smith, who's there on the same mission, so being lonely is no longer a problem. What's more, it seems that Catalina has some problems of her own. All of a sudden he really doesn't have to worry about being bored!

If you're looking for a stroke story, you may as well click away now. If, on the other hand, you're looking for a good read, then read on.

Cattail is a well crafted, character led story that is technically excellent. Mr Boyd has obviously researched his story well, and throws an interesting light on another way of life in the US, that has greatly increased my respect for the Amish. More importantly, this is not a teenage 'shag everything that doesn't move' story, but a love story involving mature people.

Though my own wretched corpse is totally unadorned, I do find tattoos, and piercings if it comes to that, very exotic on a woman, within reason that is. We're not talking tramp stamps here, but real tattoos that are works of art, so I can understand why the main protagonist feels so drawn towards his lady, and why he finds both her body and previous lifestyle so exotic.

So, if you're happy to read a gentle love story, with a nice touch of eroticism, and a believable baddie, then you couldn't wish for better. Read and enjoy!
