Stan Copely concludes, as he finally gets home from work at one-thirty Saturday morning after six days away, to find his wife still ‘out with the girls’, that he’s living the American Nightmare. A job he loves doing, an asshole penny-pinching boss he loathes, a travel agent who couldn’t care less about his time and comfort, and a wife who spends what time they do have together bitching him out. So he quits the hidebound company, leaves the selfish wife, and sets up on his own. A big step after more than twenty years.
This is yet another well-written tale from Coaster2, a compelling narrative with a wealth of detail (who knew packaging machines could be so interesting?), a believable hero and the right level of romance to be a satisfying feelgood story. You’ll easily be able to identify with Stan and his fight back to be in control, and you’ll rejoice as he makes his own luck and reaps the rewards. Give this one a try!
