The swarm is going to attack earth, and destroy it, killing all living things. To protect humanity select humans are being sent across the Galaxy on enourmous FTL Spacecraft. Men are chosen as Sponsors, and women and teens are encouraged to apply for the chance of living by becoming concubines, in fact they are slaves with the Masters, called Sponsors, holding the power of life or death over them. In this World the women are tested for sexual compatability before embarkation. They must be able to bear children, and any one over the age of fourteen can apply. This Sponsorship is also availble to Women who also meet the testing criteria with a score above 6.7 on a scale of 7.0.
Men can have their sisters, mothers, and sons as concubines. Women can have husbands, sons, brothers, daughters, and sisters as their concubines.
The slaves/ concubines have no rights, and cannot refuse Sponsors anything. And if you don't like the body you're in have it changed.
The entire series is well thought out with the laws and way of life well documented.
Death is very simple... break the law, and you will be recycled alive! Thrown into the recycler fully concious, but paralised. Mark, our Hero has two choices become a Marine, or a Civil Servant, and his score is high enough to allow him four concubines.
Enjoy this well written episode in the series.
