In "Sweet Rad", we have the story of the world's population being seriously threatened when women suddenly stop conceiving. The world has seen a 99% drop in pregnancy rates. Data is gathered, and it is found that multiple partners and more kink increase the chance of pregnancy. Soon, the "RAD" is born. Read along to see how things unfold.
The sex in this story is varied and there are many partners involved. Some encounters are brief, and others are more detailed. There is some stroke value here.
The plot idea itself is brilliant, and the story has a very nice way of unfolding. With the story taking on so many different people, it is more like snippets of various lives and encounters, but it is pulled of well.
Technically, the story is quite well written. There are some minor tweaks that could be done to tidy some things up, but overall it is solid technically.
The author did a great job with a concept. I would have preferred a story that followed a particular person or two, but as a first time offering of a new story model, this is excellent.
This idea needs to become a universe, with various authors giving a more detailed view into the lives of participants. This idea has the opportunity to be as groundbreaking as Karen Wagner's Naked in School (NiS) universe. The author touched on a lot of different possible scenarios, but having folks take a more detailed shot at those and other scenarios would be fantastic.
I recommend this story for it's distinctive plot device alone. And I urge Sterling to create a Universe for this, with a starting set of guidelines for others, and see where it goes. I am very impressed.
