What can you do with a guy like Chuck? He is totally irrepressible. He loses a leg, or part thereof, in the gritty desert, comes home to a subdued heroes welcome, Finds Florida the perfect spot to live, not exist, and is cajoled into the US Marshall's Service where his military background keeps him and his men alive but is death to his enemies.
Along the way he amasses some very wonderful friends, like the 'SS,s' and so many women I stopped counting, but fails miserably with one of his loves.
Then, he takes a scum bag to the cleaners right where it hurts the most, which makes life very enjoyable.
Then he discovers a love of flying, and being a closet perfectionist, amasses certification upon certification, numerous fantastic 'planes, and Lisa; 'nuff said.
He reminds me of a cartoon character who constantly gets shot at but refuses to back down as he starts to drink a glass of water and it all pours out of the bullet holes.
In my opinion, there are actually two Authors for every published story, the Author himself, and the editors who make D W's fun tales of daring do so readable.
I hope this is not the last of Chuck and Steve's saga, as unlike some Authors any words he writes are at the top of my list.
I have awarded 10's across the board, justifiably in my not so humble opinion!
