This short Eulogy draws a line under the career of one of SoL's better authors. So often we, the silent majority of SoL readers, see accounts, and even stories, that just come to a sudden stop with no explanation.
This time though, James F Quinn's conscientious and generous daughter, Mere Darling, has seen fit to let us know about the demise of her father, and the end of a productive career.
Daghda Jim may not have been a Hemingway, or a Le Carre, but he brought much pleasure to thousands of readers all over the world. Even now, five years after his death, people like me are still reading, and enjoying his work.
So why review his Eulogy? Well, firstly to thank Mere for letting us know that her father's talent is lost to us in the future. Secondly, to show appreciation for the works that remain on SoL, and will stand as an epitaph to an exceedingly good, if not great, author as long as SoL exists.
Hail and farewell Daghda Jim; Requiescat in pace!
