This is undeniably a love story, and it does have a happy ending, thank Gaia. The plot is original, and the characters well drawn, all in all, an excellent story!
There's always a 'but' though, isn't there. Technically, this story is not good. The grammar is reasonable, but there are so many heterographs and homonyms in the first chapters, it makes difficult reading at times. Having to go back and re-read a paragraph so that the meaning can be deduced from the context, rather spoils the enjoyment of this great tale. I would have thought though, that one of my colonial cousins would know the difference between a capitol, and a capital!
Even worse, 'Uncle Jim' tells us that 'Old Fart' provided editing, and suggestions, well I just hope the suggestions were better than the editing! Don't get me wrong, once you post a story the first thing you see when you open it is a typo, but using 'whether', instead of 'weather' is just sloppy.
Don't let my comments put you off reading the story though, it really is worth the effort, and even succeeded in brining a small tear to this jaundiced eye!
Read and enjoy!
